Lightning sensor (GLM) of the GOES-East satellite detects the flash of the possible meteorite that was sighted in several eastern provinces. Marked by the green grid in an area completely devoid of clouds. The green color does not correspond to the color of the flash 1/2

This Geostationary Lightning Mapper sensor uses an optical detector that works both day and night to determine electrical discharges.

The "blue" flash is illustrative, it shows how it occurred in an area clear of cloud cover and the satellite detected it as lightning.

Meteor that caused sound effect (electrophonic?) in Japan:
'the meteor sound .. can be heard at the same time as the meteor shines..looks like it was taken from Fuji. At the beginning, a beeping sound was heard,..'

Village in Dagestan, Russia narrowly escapes avalanche
The village of Tsakhur in Dagestan narrowly avoided being destroyed when an avalanche stopped just feet away. A couple of cars were buried under the snow, but miraculously no one was hurt.
