What's going on in Africa...

RF MoD seems to be very busy in Africa. According to Arabicafrica TG:
1 Sept:
Having left Burkina Faso, it seems that the delegation of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation headed by Yunus-bek Yevkurov is sent to the Central African Republic.
3 Sept
Visiting Burkina Faso (and probably CAR), the delegation of the Russian Federation, headed by Deputy Minister of Defense Yunus-bek Yevkurov, arrived in Mali.

and
ECOWAS countries are preparing for a military invasion of Niger

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the ousted President of Niger, Muhammad Bazum Hasumi Musaudu.

First of all, what is the MoD doing there, starting on the eve of the Embraer crash? Why not MFA? What's the official reason given to the Russian people if there is any?

On 23 August night, Rybar commented on EP's "empire":

... when Wagner has "started" to fulfil their tasks in Africa as was supposed to...

The problem is that Evgeny Viktorovich's entire empire was built on him and his personal connections and contacts. Without him and his charisma, without Utkin, who was the flesh and blood of the Orchestra's spirit (he was on the same plane), there is a crushing possibility that what Evgeny Viktorovich has built and suffered for, will crumble. And all Russia's ambitions in Africa will crumble as a result of which Africa will plunge back into hopeless and hopeless darkness with the Western stranglehold around its neck. Russia's position in the Middle East will also weaken.

Russia may renegotiate some business contracts, but they were tied with military/security service in exchange. Is RF going to send their troops to Africa when they are needed much closer? I wouldn't count much on Shoigu's Redut PMC even if they manage to recruit some of former Wagner fighters, something that they tried since long ago. Many questions, very few answers. Well, we'll see, I guess...

Yevkurov's tour visiting Wagner's bases 'abroad' apparently, according to Keit's post below, started with Syria even before the controversial Embraer's crash, which when it happened only changed the RF MoD's 'rhetoric' vis-a-vis the Musicians, but did not sway the apparently already planned visits.

If anyone is interested and did not listen, NewsReal with Joe & Niall began the latest episode by reviewing recent events in Africa:

Watch Africa
From another thread there was:
Same here. It also reminds me of the recent session where the C's warned us "to watch Africa". They actually told about it in the context of earthquakes, but now we are also witnessing Africa "shaking" in the political and military way as well. It seems to me that Africa and it's riches may have been the major motivation to remove Prigozhin from the picture.
A nice observation from @Siberia, with the idea to watch African not only for earthquakes in the literal sense. Notice also that the two African countries that will both join BRICS in just a few months, Ethiopia and Egypt are both close to fault lines, see the maps in this post in Session 23 February 2023, in fact connected to the same system that rattled Turkey and Syria.

Un coup de pied au cul de Macron : Après le renversement du protégé de la France, les nouvelles autorités du Niger ont augmenté les prix à l'exportation de leur uranium de 0,8 € le kg à 200 € le kg !

A kick in the ass from Macron: After the overthrow of France's protégé, the new authorities of Niger increased the export prices of their uranium from €0.8 per kg to €200 per kg!Except for Russia

Who's the new guy?! Anti-French protests have begun in Chad
The citizens of Chad demanded that French diplomats and the military get out to Europe.

Against the background of numerous coups d'etat on the territory of African countries, it became known that Paris tried to focus on Chad, but anti-French protests began here this morning. As it became known, the citizens of Chad made demands to the French authorities to remove diplomats and military personnel from the country. So far, such a protest action is limited in nature, but the situation may escalate here at any moment.

On the video footage, you can see the anti-French speeches themselves, while the situation is aggravated by the fact that France ignores such actions.

According to a number of sources, one of the reasons for the attacks on France was suspicions that France might be preparing an attack on Niger from the territory of this African country, since such a possibility was previously considered.

Experts believe that Chad may become the next country from which French diplomats and the military will be expelled, which threatens Paris with a complete loss of control over Africa.
Кто на новенького?! В Чаде начались антифранцузские протесты

Niger accused France of preparing for war and deploying a large group of troops
The military leadership of Niger, which came to power as a result of a coup, has made accusations against France and its allies. According to them, Western countries are preparing a military invasion in order to free deposed President Mohamed Bazoum.

According to the France 24 news agency, the official representative of the National Council for the Salvation of the Motherland created after the coup, Colonel Amadou Abdraman, said on state television that France had strengthened its military presence in a number of West African countries. In particular, we are talking about Ivory Coast and Benin, where, according to him, military aircraft, helicopters and 40 armored vehicles were sent.

It should be noted that before that, on August 3, the new authorities of Niger decided to terminate a number of military agreements with France, where about 1,500 French troops are stationed as part of an operation against jihadist groups.

Paris, which does not recognize the new military regime in Niger, said that the military that overthrew the president is not a party to the current military agreements. In turn, the military claims that the presence of French troops in the country is "illegal".

At the same time, a source in the French Ministry of Defense confirmed that negotiations are underway with the new Niger regime on a possible reduction in the presence of French troops.

Uganda's president, Yoweri Museveni, quietly spills the truth:

" Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has revealed how the Western powers miserably failed Africa and subsequently lost the trust of Africans. According to the Ugandan leader's assessment, the West has failed in three key tests on the African continent; the tribal, religious, and strategic tests. President Museveni believes the West failed the tribal test by displaying its selfishness with regard to vaccine and sanitiser distribution during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, citing that African values prioritise sharing even in times of crisis and not hoarding like the West. President Museveni also believes the West has failed the religion test in Africa for claiming to be Christians and yet not following Christian values. He also thinks the West has failed in its Africa strategy because the new generation of Africans now knows that Western powers are not to be trusted.

President Museveni's critique of Western powers failing Africa in tribal, religious, and strategic contexts raises thought-provoking points. His second point about the West failing the religion test is particularly compelling because indeed, Western powers claim to be Christian nations yet keep pushing agendas like LGBTQ on African countries, even though it is frowned upon in many religions. Moreover, his insights about the West's failure in strategy stem from Western powers' inconsistent engagement and their double standards when it comes to Africa, and it resonates deeply. The failure of Western strategy in Africa underscores the urgency for a more respectful and consistent approach that aligns with the values and aspirations of the African people. Museveni's insights illuminate the need for authentic collaboration and a departure from agendas that conflict with the continent's cultural and religious fabric, paving the way for a more trusting and harmonious partnership."

For those interested with two clarifications. One, ihmo, this is not just about Africa . 2 This is not a flame. I say this because I am familiar with the political inclinations of this forum and a flame would not make constructive sense. Anyway. We are in the 80s of this timeline. In the company of a burkinabé military putschist named Thomas Sankara. Below you will find two links. One to an Italian produced documentary, the other is a Swiss production. Both in french with subeng availalble. They use the same archive footages in different and interesting ways. the Italian one also gives details about the likely 3d mandators of his assassination, French and American secret services, with gaddafi's blessing.

In the summer, Yevkurov was already in this region. The increased activity is obvious.
The Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation arrived in Mali - a meeting with the Defense Ministers of Mali and Niger is on the agenda
On September 15, Colonel-General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, who holds the post of Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, arrived on a working visit to the capital of Mali, the city of Bamako, according to the state television of Mali.

During his visit, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov held a number of high-level meetings. According to local media, among the key events of the visit is his meeting with the defense ministers of Mali and Niger. The content of the talks remains in question, but it can be assumed that the issues of military cooperation and security in the West African region were discussed.

It is worth noting that General Yevkurov's visits to African countries are becoming systematic, which indicates Russia's growing interest in the military-political situation on the continent and its desire to strengthen ties with key states in the region.

Africa is becoming an important destination for many world powers in light of the continent's economic and geopolitical potential. In this context, Russia seems to be betting on deepening its relations with African countries in the field of defense and security.

West African countries create a new military alliance
Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger will create a collective defense alliance

The leaders of Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger signed a charter on the creation of a collective defense alliance. The President of the transitional period of Mali, Colonel Assimi Goita, wrote about this on social networks.

"I signed today with the heads of State of Burkina Faso and Niger the Liptako-Gurma Charter, which establishes the Sahel States Alliance with the aim of creating an architecture of collective defense and mutual assistance for the benefit of our population," Goita said.

Earlier, the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations (UN), Vasily Nebenzia, said that the United States and the European Union wanted to maintain political pressure on Mali by adopting a resolution extending sanctions and the action of the sanctions committee's group of experts.

Prior to that, it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the President of the transitional period of the Republic of Mali Assimi Goita. The conversation took place on the initiative of the Malian side. Putin expressed his condolences in connection with the September 7 terrorist attack in northeastern Mali.
