Newman and Baddiel's master creation, History Today. In this, two cantankerous old codgers begin a serious intellectual debate which swiftly devolves in the most puerile and vulgar acts of insult and disrespect. Another old favourite from my school days.
So, on a lark, I googled “bats hanging upside down, upside down” to see what they would look like standing upright. I was not disappointed.
*note* volume on really adds to the vibe.
One final gig from Carlin, from 2008. I'm about to read his memoirs and thought I'd check out some of his later work. As sharp and concise as any, and could often be savagely brutal, but always that bit of heart that made you know he genuinely liked people. Just took the piss out of them a lot. Cathartic comedy.
