Here is how things will work with the classics.

Put simply: these may not be the words Dahl wrote. The publishers have given themselves licence to edit the writer as they see fit, chopping, altering and adding where necessary to bring his books in line with contemporary sensibilities. By comparing the latest editions with earlier versions of the texts, The Telegraph has found hundreds of changes to Dahl’s stories.

Language related to weight, mental health, violence, gender and race has been cut and rewritten. Remember the Cloud-Men in James and the Giant Peach? They are now the Cloud-People. The Small Foxes in Fantastic Mr Fox are now female. In Matilda, a mention of Rudyard Kipling has been cut and Jane Austen added. It’s Roald Dahl, but different.

That those are not his words is not important.

Roth from Twitter is certain to get a job in this area. There are plenty of books to target for this sanitization treatment.
Didn't USSR do something similar when it was still around ?

I didn't realize this! I've got about 27 bookcases, some covering entire walls, of mostly classic literature...Every time ppl helped me move, they'd complain about the heavy boxes of books, asking why I keep them...Keep them indeed!

Envisioning, fireman, Guy Montag, from, "Fahrenheit 451" Entering my home to burn my books!

"It took some man a lifetime maybe to put some of his thoughts down, looking around at the world and life, and then I came along in two minutes and boom! it’s all over.”

This isn't the first time this has been done in the US...Ray Bradbury's book, the very same above, was changed by Balentine Books...bought by schools...Sure enough, I checked a newer edition I bought for my son, against the older edition and it was chopped!

I don’t know if this is the best place for this post but it’s at least a few observations on how things are changing in our world. I have a few friends I know who are in the scrap/metals recycling business. The entire top end of that operation is becoming damn near completely automated where giant amounts of scrap are dumped into shredding machines and then sorted automatically.

So it makes it rather easy for a civilization, say 4D STS to sort and extract whatever metal materials they’d ultimately need, and it also significantly cuts down on the labor costs.

I thought about it because if I was a resource hungry bunch of hyper dimensional psychos, it would make sense for me to figure out a way to program the population to extract the resources I would want very efficiently. If humanity ends up getting amalgamated into their structure, lots of raw materials are readily available to create with. We’re talking about steel, aluminum, copper, silver, gold ect, which for beings that rely on those things to control would be convenient and 4D STS certainly has extracted quite the feast while people have obtained those resources, the suffering in African mines being one example.

It’s just another manifestation of the Cain and Abel story, where one side rapes and pillages the land and the other tends to it. Nothing wrong with the little guys who make a living selling scrap, but it could easily be seen that the system’s been designed to consolidate resources for their eventual use by the top guys, where lots of the processing is automated.

It’s interesting because it’s impossible to automate a well run farm, but other things easily lend themselves to automation.

Perfect place to post. I'm always interested in what the affected individuals are saying. It's been months since I tuned in but radio hadn't been censored as much as print or visual medias, and I'd listen to talk radio, where listeners called in with comments.

Your info on scrapers is very much relatable to me...I wasn't so much of a scraper but a scrounger...I've collected plenty, hand driven tools, bicycles, you name it and I got a lot of home and workshop items this way. I can't! believe what people throw away...perfectly useable items, like new....That easy come, easy go attitude is changing fast!

No scrounger...I'll go by the description of a gleaner...like the painting:

The Gleaners (Des glaneuses) is an oil painting by Jean-François Millet completed in 1857.

It depicts three peasant women gleaning a field of stray stalks of wheat after the harvest. The painting is famous for featuring in a sympathetic way what were then the lowest ranks of rural society; it was received poorly by the French upper classes.

Some of Britain’s most popular sitcoms and greatest works of literature were flagged as potential signs of far-Right extremism by a counter-terror programme.

The flagship Prevent scheme, recently the subject of a scathing audit, singled out comedies Yes Minister and The Thick Of It, the 1955 epic war film The Dam Busters, and even The Complete Works Of William Shakespeare as possible red flags of extremism.

It said the works of fiction were ‘key texts’ for ‘white nationalists/supremacists’.

Who recalls the concept of "Year Zero" as practiced by Pol Pot ? Think it couldn't happen where you are ?

Yuval Noah Harari is an Israeli historian and "philosopher".

chrome_screenshot_1676925804154.png
In conferences he has assured that "In a hundred years it is quite likely that humans will disappear and that the earth will be populated by very different beings such as cyborgs and Artificial Intelligence (AI)"

In his book "Homo Deus", this intellectual also refers to the emergence of "the religion of data", a future cult around the power of algorithms in a world where artificial intelligence and big data reign.

The Israeli philosopher is concerned about the possibility that the current technological revolution - with its massive robotization - may end up benefiting only a few and lead, in fact, to the creation of a "useless" social class.

Thus, he pointed out that most of the world's population is totally dispensable in the task of creating the future they dream of in places like Silicon Valley.

"More and more you get the feeling that all these elites don't even need you and it's much worse to be irrelevant than to be exploited," he told the audience at his recent talk in San Francisco.

"You guys are completely expendable," he added.

It reminds me of what has been said in past sessions where the left and postmodernists declare themselves gods.

(Pierre) The similarity with the Tower of Babel is that those people got together to become gods. It's the same as what the left is doing because they deny nature and the objective nature of the universe. And then they create “their” truth, and what they say is the truth, so they replace god.

(L) So in other words, this whole left attempt to take over our world is sort of what 2nd Thessalonians referred to as man attempting to take the seat of god in the temple, so to speak?

A: Yes. The Beast.

(Chu) It seems to be like the Tower of Babel every time things collapse. People start acting like god or thinking they're gods.

Here’s a quote from the organisation that is apparently responsible for these edits:

On any project, it’s the role of the ambassador to help identify language and portrayals that could be inauthentic or problematic…

I guess this means Dahl’s writing becomes more authentic by changing what he wrote??

Why not change all references to “doublespeak” in Orwell’s 1984 to make it also more “authentic”?

It wouldn’t surprise me!

Gays increasingly weaponized ?

I wonder what is the deep hidden drive in Harari ? Did he, when he discovered that he was gay, not getting laid ?!? Did he get rejected too many times and is now on his ultimate revenge spree for his secretly embedded sense of shortcomings ?

This man is so beyond delusional in his assessments which he so richly blurts out, creating a new kind of “Philosophy” (cult) in what i feel is deeply sickening and repulsive. I have simply no words.

I doubt he would survive long enough in the raw streets being such a skinny f***up. Or he has a brilliant mind working for the dark side and gets away ? Such minds have happened before… He may be a nice guy if you talk with him in private - but what he stands for on the public stage, should all be thrown on a landfill. Directly. Subito ! BASTA !!!

Still. I do wonder - what makes this ‘human’ becoming such a twisted mind inspiring other potential into becoming monsters, gladly hooking up on this BS ? There has to be a foreign dimensional influence feeding this crap in that guy ?

Here comes the Kicker, my dear, sweet Mr Harari. Even you are expendable when it really boils down.

This reminds me of the movie "Two Women" with Sophia Loren and Jean Paul Belmondo (Italian: La ciociara }. There was a scene where Cesira (Sophia) had to scrounge the ground with many other women in the village to find enough food for them all. This action occurred during WW2. It is a sad movie but Sophia was wonderful in the role and i loved her spunkiness and determined stance to make it despite the odds. People suffered during that war on many fronts. Food was scarce. And now we are coming to that again.

I applaud your determination to scrounge and save on some tools or other necessities. They might come in handy eventually. It will come to that eventually i believe. We are far too wasteful.

The thought police would get him just the same. He had committed – would have committed, even if he had never set pen to paper – the essential crime that contained all others in itself. Thoughtcrime, they called it. Thoughtcrime was not a thing that could be concealed forever. You might dodge successfully for a while, even for years, but sooner or later they were bound to get you.

– George Orwell

Thought Police Definition

The group monitors the psychological ticks of men and women in The Party, arresting those they believe are committing thoughtcrime or are thinking something ideologically opposed to what the Party wants them to. INGSOC, or English Socialism, is at the center of this.

The implications of the Thought Police are wide-ranging. Citizens are frightened into policing their thoughts and further giving in to the demands of The Party. Every means of independence is stripped from the citizens of Oceania.

Looking at just a smidgen of what is on his wiki page, it might draw one's attention to one of his personal influencers:

While at Oxford, Harari first encountered the writings of Jared Diamond, whom he has acknowledged as an influence on his own writing. At a Berggruen Institute salon, Harari said that Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steelwas kind of an epiphany in my academic career. I realized that I could actually write such books.

If one follows Jared, he on his own is deemed an influencer.

In terms of the WEF, who is to say - well they pay his bills, ensure he travels and stays at hotspots and hobnobs. His messages somehow fits into their form of crony capital reset. While he is there, too, he receives a seat and microphone on stage, along with crowds that also provide him with reinforcing feedback loops. All this probably helps him to further his studies that then comes writ large as one can see.

Thought this might fit here seeing that high profile leaders seem to be resigning more and more - will be interesting to see where they get “plugged into” next.

In this case, while not a leader of a country, the CEO of YouTube did affect over 3/4 of the population with policies around misinformation, deplatforming and demonetizing creators for wrong think, and implementing a 1000 person community moderation “farm” to ensure content is “safe”.

YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki is stepping down after nearly a decade in the role, the company shared in a blog post Thursday.

Wojcicki told staff she's departing the top job to "start a new chapter focused on my family, health, and personal projects I'm passionate about." She'll continue to help advise the company, she said.

She'll be replaced by Neal Mohan, who has been YouTube's chief product officer since 2015 and helped launch the company's TikTok competitor, Shorts.

It’s a timely departure given the legal proceedings currently taking place:

In February, the Supreme Court will hear arguments in Gonzalez v. Google, and its decision could radically alter the way that Americans use the internet. The case centers on Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act — “the twenty-six words that created the internet.” Section 230 protects hosting, displaying, or sharing content from other people. In real-world terms, it means that Spotify can recommend new songs, Monster can show relevant job postings, Etsy can promote niche antiques from small sellers, and you can “like” and “share” material you see online.

Redacted crew does a pretty good job of assessing the situation:

YouTube CEO quits as FEDS get ready to drop the hammer on censorship

The CEO of YouTube Susan Wojcicki announced that she will step down. She says that she wants to focus on her family, health and personal projects. That’s nice for her but she may still have to testify before the House Judiciary Committee to comply with recent subpoenas about “censorship” collaboration. Under Wojcicki, YouTube has been one of the strictest platforms for censorship and we've never been given reasons why. She has named YouTube Chief Product Officer Neal Mohan to replace her. Will we get answers from him?

…and she’s likely real cozy with the Davos Cult. Here she is at the WEF last year.

Oh how hard the hammer needs to fall…
