La superbe Porpita, aussi connue sous le nom de "bouton bleu". Elle est un genre de cnidaires hydrozoaires pélagiques flottants et apprécie l’eau chaude. Présent dans toutes les mers et océans du monde, cet animal a un aspect similaire à celui des méduses. Or, ils n’ont aucun lien de parenté. Chacun des « tentacules » est formé d’un grand nombre de ramifications. À la pointe de chacune de ces ramifications on retrouve les cellules qui contiennent du venin. Elles peuvent donc causer de l’irritation à certaines personnes par simple contact.

Each of the “tentacles” is formed by a large number of ramifications. At the tip of each of these ramifications are cells that contain venom.
They can therefore cause irritation to some people by simple contact.

La Tortue River Mary avec sa crête punk, qui respire par son anus... Elle est connue pour son aspect distinctif, avec une crête verte d’algues qui pousse sur sa tête. Elle a un corps relativement petit et profilé, avec une longueur de carapace maximale d’environ 40 centimètres. Cette tortue est également connue pour sa capacité unique à respirer à travers son cloaque, ce qui lui permet de rester submergé pendant de longues périodes de temps (3 à 4 jours sans remonter à la surface). Etonnant ! Elle a été décrite pour la première fois en 1994 et est considérée comme l’une des espèces de tortues les plus menacées au monde.

She is known for her distinctive appearance, with a green crest of seaweed growing on her head. It has a relatively small and streamlined body, with a maximum carapace length of around 40 centimeters.
This turtle is also known for its unique ability to breathe through its vent, which allows it to remain submerged for long periods of time (3-4 days without coming to the surface). Amazing!
It was first described in 1994 and is considered one of the most endangered turtle species in the world.
