HOW TO POST IMAGES?

Re: Posting images

I don't seem to be able to post images in my replies. I "copy" an image file from my directory. I right click over the text box and "paste" is in hazy script, not a available option.
What can I do?

Re: Posting images

Hi Mac,

If the image is saved on your computer, you should be able to include it in your post as an attachment by using Additional Options. A preview of the image is unavailable with this option, but you can always modify after posting it.

Re: Posting images

You can not copy and paste an image from your pc.

As said by MC, if you want to post an image from your pc, you have to use the Additional Options but be aware that there is a maximum size for that options.

You can upload your image on a site dedicated for that and once it is done, you can copy your image in using the little icone "insert image" (first one on your left on the last row of icones just before the smileys) or you can use the specific code for that which is: (img) your image (/img) but you must change the parentheses () by brackets []. That is the best option because you do not upload it on the forum's site.

OK, I managed to insert images using Attachments. How do I use more than one image with text preceding and following each?

also at the top of the page is an attempt to insert the same image using Fast Free Hosting. Something must be amiss there.

Need further instruction.

Re: Posting images

Hi Mac,

Looking at the image link above, it seems to be wrong. The image file normally ends with .jpg or .GIF or .jpeg
Yours has a .html at the end which may be the problem. Check again the name of your image file and pay attention to dashes or dots in the file name and then try inserting using the following
[#img]_http://www.your_imagehosting.com/your_image.jpg[#/img]
without the hash signs in the image tag and without the underscore in-front of the http.

The site that you used to store your image does not give the code for the forum's image. So it is not the best one.

Try one of these two sites:

_http://imgplace.com/index.php

_http://imageshack.us/

And once it is uploaded, look for the special code for forum. And after that, you do as Vulcan59 as explained.

Re: Posting images

From the link that you have given, look where it is written "or copy the download url".

And the url is:

_http://d1.fastfreefilehosting.com/getfile.php?id=24370&access_key=f9c70ea50721b7bc345000636aed93ab&t=4ad3e623&o=437BDD21C5EFE680E504CE674648D2CC61154AB1E83B0F52E341114F06C1626D465E67C13DDC&name=Mt%20Massive.jpg

And putting that link as explained by Vulcan59, you have that...

getfile.php

inserting images and quotes

Blimey. I have looked and looked and looked but just can't succeed in adding a quote or an image to my posts. Yes, I see the icon above this where I can select that allows me to do this but I don't understand how to actually use it.
I have resisted asking because I see so many of you inserting away all the time but I just don't get it!!
I've now been trying for over an hour so before I throw this mac out the window I'm asking for assistance.
I also want to add an avatar to my name... anyone... Bueller... anyone
I'm not stooopid :-[

Re: inserting images and quotes

Hi jellyfish
To quote images you need an image account (ala photobucket.com) where you get an image adress you copy and come here to paste into the code which is printed in your reply box after you press the image icon, you paste it after the first
Code:
and after the image adress leave the [/IMG]

I'm guessing your problem with avatar is that you don't have an image account, so if you get one that will be easy to do

Quoting is similar to images except that you don't need an external account :), look here : http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,5643.15.html

Re: inserting images and quotes

to insert a picture I do it this way :

step 1: search for the picture you want to insert for axample on google pictures then copy this picture (right maus click then copy)

step 2: save the picture on your desktop (right maus click then insert)

step 3: go to this website http://tinypic.com/

step 4: click browse ("durchsuchen") on that website. then search there fore your picture that you have saved on your desktop.
when you have found it then click on open ("öffnen")

step 5: then click on "Upload Now"

step 6: enter the code that appears in to the field and click "upload now"

step 7: a side appears ("Share This Image"). then copy the link under "Direct Link for Layouts"

step 8 : go to the forum and insert the link you have just copied into the message board

step 9: mark the whole link. then go to the icons above and click on the left Icon under the "B" called "Insert Image"
your picture will now appear when you have posted your message.

notice it could be that after step 6 step 7 does not appear. the cause could be that you typed in the wrong code on point 6.
or it could be that you have to change the "Resize" after point 4 before going to step 5 .

Insert a quote:

mark the part of your message that you like to quote and click on the Icon above called "Insert Quote".
this part of the message will appear as a Quote after you posted it.

add an avatar:

step 1: do the steps 1 and 2 from above

step 2: go to the forum and click on "Profil" on the top

step 3: then click on "Modify Profil" wich appears on the top of the new side after step 2. then click on "Forum Profil".

step 4: click on the left on "Upload an avatar". then click browse ("durchsuchen") and search for your picture
that you have saved on your desktop.

step 5: click "Change profil". now you have an avatar picture

Edit: spelling

Testing, testing, 123...
