accessing casschat

Hi,

Call me "out of it", but I haven't chatted on the net in over five years, and I am not sure what kind of operating program one needs to access casschat. I used to use mIRC32 but I doubt that's still around. I've been looking all over the website for a link to casschat, which doesn't seem to be there - or is casschat another name for the forum/message board?

Anyway, thanks

Hi Marie, casschat is a messageboard which you can find here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/casschat/

There are two ways to receive and send messages; either by the site itself or through email messages, which you can select when joining the group. The former option allows you to search through the archives, whereas the latter allows you to store the posts offline - but of course, only the ones you've already received after joining.

Happy posting!

And - there is no need for any type of IRC or similar program, since the necessary programming operates through the website, so it's easy - just point, click and type. =)

Hi,
about 3 or so years ago I was active on casschat ... I now have more time available and wondered how I could retrieve my old login (if it hasn't been scrapped)
I used to receive posts via email.
Any ideas anyone ??

Hi Adrian,

Do you still know what your yahoo login name and password are? Your login name is the part before the @ symbol (e.g. adrian@yahoo.com). If you don't remember your password you can usually have them email it to you by answering your security question right.
The yahoo groups main page is at: http://groups.yahoo.com/
It will show you (once logged in) what groups you are subscribed to. It is possible that you have the group preferences set up to email you at a different email address that is perhaps no longer valid.
Yahoo used to put unused accounts in an inactive state, so if you are having trouble getting back in you might want to look into that. Or you can start over and re-apply to the casschat group (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/casschat/)

Best,
Dominique.
