I saw something pulsating in the night sky this morning at pretty much exactly 01:00 am local time (UTC + 01:00), apparently pulsating rather quickly with quite intense (though not too bright) colors ranging from blue, to red, to bright greenish as far as I could see. It was stationary hanging there in the sky and quite some distance away from my viewpoint. I watched it for at least 10 Minutes, so a plane is unlikely.
I captured some images of the object which I would like to share. Since I have a pretty exact time frame from the pictures and pretty good areal features/markers in the shots in order to establish where it was approximately located in the sky (in terms of GPS coordinates where I was standing [and altitude from my observation point], Azimuth of the object on the horizon, approx. degrees above the horizon) I searched on Stellarium to see if any star or planet could have been the culprit at that moment in time. As far as I could gather, the Azimuth from my observation point was around 87° degrees and I was standing 315 meters above see level while the object was at most 10° degrees above the horizon but more likely more like between 4° and 8° above the horizon. On the pictures you can see a roof on the left and a church tower to the right and a hill in the background above which the object appeared. Thus giving us a pretty precise way of determining where the object was located in the night sky. From what I could gather, a planet can be ruled out too, since nowhere close was any planet at that point (Venus and Jupiter for example where well below the horizon).
First, two pictures taken at exactly the same location and viewpoint during day time, to give a better perspective of what can be seen at night with the same camera and set up.
Digitally zoomed in:
Here are all the 8 short clips I took arranged chronologically from the first to the last one. Some are zoomed in digitally. In those zoomed version the quite intense colors are pretty accurately captured while the size of the object is a bit exaggerated do to the blurry nature of the digital zoom. If you use the slow motion feature "0,25" on youtube, you will be better able to see the color changes. Video 1, 3 and 4 are without digital zoom while Videos 2, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are digitally zoomed in. Video 8 comes closest as to how it appeared with the naked eye, distance and size wise. Of course it looked quite better with the naked eye. You can watch all 8 short clips stringed behind each other here.
