Hi again everyone --
I have one more question, and then I am going to hold off for the time being so that I don't take more than my fair share of space on this thread. My question is about the Seth material, and I am going to try to explain briefly why I think the question is both new, generally relevant, and hopefully conforms to the following criterion which Laura restated yesterday:

In reading through the various forum threads, I feel that besides the Cassiopaean material itself, there are really only three other sources of channeled material that are treated with some seriousness: the Ra material, the Pleiadian material in Barbara Marciniak's first book
Bringers of the Dawn, and the Seth material. I know that the first two are taken seriously because they were recommended and/or endorsed by the Cs themselves. The Seth material, on the other hand, is something that it seems several forum members here (including myself) feel an independent fondness for. In having searched the threads, I don't see any specific criticism of the Seth material per se amongst the discussions involving it.
The Seth material was asked about briefly in one session, and the Cs said that Seth was 'a higher plane earth spirit' and that '[it is] rapidly becoming obsolete as you move toward new reality'. I don't know if 'higher plane earth spirit' means merely 'dead dude', but this quote from the Cassiopaeans seems to indicate that the material isn't that important -- yet it seems like a lot of people still take it seriously, and I have personally considered it a rare (and therefore valuable) source of information amongst the piles of new age literature in the same genre which seem not-so-reliable.
My specific question has to do with Seth and the YCYOR meme. I know that this has been touched on before, and I think that PopHistorian in the 'The Dark Side of the Secret' thread suggests that this meme was twisted out of the Seth material, implying that YCYOR was not actually part of the 'Seth package'. However, there is something that Seth says toward the end of
The Personal Nature of Reality that really gave me pause:
Seth: 'In the Sermon on the Mount, the phrase "...the meek shall inherit the earth", has been grossly misinterpreted. Christ meant, "You form your own reality. Those who think thoughts of peace will find themselves safe from war and dissension. They will be
untouched by it. They will escape, and indeed inherit the earth." Thoughts of peace, particularly in the middle of chaos, take great energy. People who can ignore the physical evidence of wars and purposely think thoughts of peace
will triumph...'
After having spent time on this forum, this quote really took me aback. In fact, it seems to epitomize the kind of YCYOR meme that is usually strongly warned against here, and runs counter to the purpose of the main SOTT news page itself. So my question is this:
Was the Seth material really a legitimate source of information, or was it ultimately deceptive? Given what we know about the ability of 4th density STS to move around in spacetime, could Seth actually have been 'set up' to counter more legitimate information from a source like the Cassiopaeans which would appear later, burying the lie of YCYOR in what is otherwise mostly truth? And finally (if appropriate) what densities would Seth his own uber-counterpart Seth II be associated with, if they are indeed legitimate -- 3rd and 5th? 4th and 6th?
I have read quite a bit of the Seth material, but certainly not all of it. I think this question might be a good one for the Cs because of how seriously Seth is taken by many people here (therefore it has general applicability), and because I can't think of any empirical way to ascertain the nature of Seth relying on traditional resources. Therefore, figuring this out could save people a lot of time and energy. However, I can also see the converse argument where perhaps we need to use that time and energy to figure this out on our own by reading all the material. Laura and the other members of the session will have to decide that. No matter which way it goes, I am interested in hearing anyone else's thoughts about this.
