Just happened to stumble across the good ole Yes Minister series by BBC on You Tube. I've seen it a long time ago on TV, when I was a kid. I found it even then (almost 30 years ago) interesting and funny, even though I couldn't really understand the political satire. Now watching it again I'm amazed how brilliant the series is! I don't think the picture the series give of how the "politics" are run are too far from the truth. The actors are also wonderful and the dialogs are well written. TV series of today are no match. I highly recommend it if you want a laugh and some food for thoughts as well.

First episode from 1980, "Open Government":

Yes, it's very good, it really brings to light the "forgotten" arm of government, the civil service and the power struggle between them and the politicians.

A guy who I knew working in state parliamentary staff circles said it was very close to the way things were!
