Hi All,

I'm trying to put together a 10 minute compilation of various movie snippets that appear, or clearly do reference, the works of Castaneda, Gurdjieff, Jadczyk (sorry if I spoke third person or as if your not here) Ouspensky..

My hope is to also compile short quotes to go in between each sequence (if time allows) or have them on, or as, the sequence opens. So what I am hoping to do is get a few ideas, and I already have the matrix series a bit overly spliced up, of what some others might have in mind.

Here is one I uploaded to YouTube http://(www).youtube(DOT)com/watch?v=uh6CxAArEMc which I am hoping to exemplify as the character of man's regular state. I don't have a short quote to prepare the viewer for, or something to overlay on it in mind yet.

Another person had a better Idea which was making something original top to bottom and I think it is a great idea but I'm pretty much on a no budget video making scheme currently. http://www.cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php?topic=6276

If you can think of any 10sec.-1min. little sequences that you think might work good I'm requesting a link, movie name, a description, a short quote by an Author you see it as referencing.. or any combination thereof.
 
Well I'm moving forward with my little project. I'm not real good with external considering but I'm trying. Maybe I shouldn't have brought this up, maybe I should.. I can't discern based on past experiences: Meaning in the past I've just acted. Am I tripping myself up?

In the end, I think the vid will be educational and also give people some resources for places to go to get more info 'here' - on the net. (Referencing the various links in the credits.) Anyhow I was wondering if it is OK to use a reference to the book "The secret History of the World"? Instead of using a quote, I found an area that I feel it fits in as an overlay on the video. Here is an image:

It's pretty much ready outside of a 20-30 second bit I want/need from the Wizard of Oz as well as a reference quote. In the image on the right the text part fades and flows toward the info/image on the left. Hoping to get this all together and post a link tomorrow.

Done (or may need redoing). I like it but for some it may skip around too much to really take it in. *shrug* Most of the footage came from various video's I had done in the past when I had a website. It's probably half new half old.

Hi Noise

I think the concept is great, but a few notes. The shadow that creeps down over the text after the video sequences, I found really distracting. I consistently had to wait a 'beat' - a second to actually start reading, which totally broke the flow. (that may be just me). Also, the reference to Secret History was stunted and really fast, so I couldn't actually read the first part. I'm not certain if, in it's current form, it makes a lot of sense in context either -perhaps a link at the end, among the other credits might make more sense. The feel at this point is that it is a "Cassiopaea endorsed product".

If you can remove the shadow that drips down over the text, that will help - and maybe just put in a link to SotT instead of the LKJ reference, it might help. I - of course - could be completely off base here - so let's see what other input you get.

Hi all,

I got a bit ticked off today. I didn't sleep well at all last night and so I started with an intent to make a new video. I originally wanted to make something on Ponerology since there have been a great many of late, but I couldn't think of anything inspirational music wise.

In my 3-4 hours sleep state I came up with a song for a different video. I started surfing up pictures pretty early and tried to follow along with the lyrics as best I could. It should have came as no surprise that Mr. BuSh did the get out of jail free, but instead I had a bit of an anurism of rage, so the video turned out a bit more frustrated than I had initially intended. Anyhow It follows along the music so it is partially farcical. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAeWA6fnz4k I do however think it turned out well with the music but again much too pissed off and even enraged. =\

If I may I have a suggestion that may help direct others into the thinking of something beyond what they think they know, that is, that the content of various movies contain much more knowledge than meets the eyes. If one who watches such videos and starts to ponder that this may indeed be the case then would that not help to focus his/her attention on something beyond direct perception? In the movies section it seems that many of us have seen many videos related to this beyond perception directed type of thinking. I suggest that maybe we should analyze how some of the teachings of Castaneda, Gurdjieff, Ouspenky, and Laura are depicted in such films? That is, first we direct attention to the possibility of the unknown that what they have been thinking or currently think may not be totally correct or, in fact, be completely wrong. Secondly, once one opens up his/her mind more to the possibility then the connections between the movies and the teachings may give them more cause to think and consistently apply their thoughts in the proper direction? I think the video is great but at the same time I think that a broader spectrum of movies that covers more of the ground in the context of people's preferences could be used to facilitate access to more people's attention. I'm just throwing my thoughts out there and honestly I think it'd be alot of fun to get to watch a bunch of movies, study Casteneda, Gurdjieff, Ouspenksy, Laura and other's teachings and see how they are connected with them. I think I would learn alot about how these teachings can be applied in the appropriate context as it relates in film and then I'll probably become better and better at relating it to myself and then relating it to others for others!

During various parts in the video (or not at all I'm just throwing it out there) each of the following messages could be displayed as though looking at a mirror and as you walk through the mirror you see its image in reverse? That is, since one sentence is just the reverse of the next then two messages could be displayed at once via a rotation? A STS/STO orientation/freewill choice rotation, A STS AHa I got you rotation, and a I help you/You help I STO/STO rotation. Again these are just thoughts........

Compared to the more educational ones that have been on the signs page this one turned out quite a bit different. I'm trying to, I don't know it turned out manipulative. I'm trying to use some reverse psychology on people who can't seem to grasp that psychopaths do in fact rule our world.

I took stuff from 'they live' and another video '(?)Electronic Behavior Co(?)' and spliced them together. I've redone it about 8 times. Maybe I should have skipped over yoda some.. I don't know. It doesn't strike but more disturbs I think.

I think it works a treat. It's engaging and the music and video editing work very well together. Nicely done.
 
Trying to get a little feedback on how this turned out. I'm calling it "Masks of Vendetta" I uploaded it to Gougle for now and may end up editing it some, depending on the feedback, and hope to put it on youtube.

Didn't really have a cool nifty name for it. Heard the music to it and really liked it in the past. Hadn't heard it for a year or two. I used references to war, sott's, psychopathy and political ponerology as well as the Work but only in the slightest way. Personally (from my own world of opinions) I think it is the best I've done with a song that has no lyrics.

Edit: I'd anticipated not doing a video until I finished reading Unholy Hungers but this music really got me going and I had a gob of pictures that I've collected over the past few months.

I got kind of teary eyed doing this. Not sure if it is/was pride, hope ..it was anger. When I started it I thought it wouldn't have much affect on me at all. Hope it is enjoyable. Any feedback is welcome.

I think I had screwed it up by having an image (lady liberty being torched) that was (WAYYY) out of sink with the lyrics, and another (a man with a gun), neither of which went at all with what I was thinking/feeling in terms of the music/lyrics.
