INCUBUS - Drive

Sometimes, I feel the fear of uncertainty stinging clear
And I can't help but ask myself how much
I'll let the fear take the wheel and steer.
It's driven me before, and it seems to have a vague,
haunting mass appeal.
But lately I'm beginning to find that I
should be the one behind the wheel.

Whatever tomorrow brings,
I'll be there with open arms and open eyes, Yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there..I'll be there.

So, if I decide to waiver my chance to be one of the hive
Will I choose water over wine and hold my own and drive?
Aah-ah-oo-o-o.

It's driven me before and it seems to be the way
that everyone else gets around.
But lately I'm beginning to find that when
I drive myself my light is found.

Whatever tomorrow brings,
I'll be there with open arms and open eyes, Yeahhh
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there...I'll be there.

Would you choose water over wine....hold the wheel and drive?

Whatever tomorrow brings,
I'll be there with open arms and open eyes, Yeah
Whatever tomorrow brings, I'll be there..I'll be there.
Do do do do do do do do do do do
ohh wa oh, do do do do do
Do do do do do do do do do do do
ohh wa oh

WHO

Don't Get Fooled Again

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again

The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the foe, that' all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they all flown in the last war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
No, no!

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie

Do ya?

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

http://myspace.com/njheroes

Their a local band from across the river (jersey), lots of references to 'saving the world', comic book heroes, a world blind and struggling against criminals in power... it's good stuff. Their style is like, electronic/rock/hip hop with emphasis on the hip hop aspect. If you goto their myspace they have Emblem up, and Pride which are ones i like. My Favorite is called Who knows.

Couple lyrics from Who Knows:

Come on people step up,
It's time to break the threshold,
Be bold, take control and never sacrafice your soul.

Why dont you sacrafice corruption,
Eliminate Destruction,
Take away all the power from the peopel we been trustin,
If you're lustin for the greatness you're probably gonna hate this.

Im sorry if you're caught up in all different styles of fakeness.

Now here's my presentation gonna spread it across the nation,

Contacting every human and most little creatures,
Circumvent the planet, have it reversing it's rotation,
Cuz everything is backwards upside-down and flipped around,

I'm amazed how people believe in every single sound,
Not everything holds true, but it's also not a lie,
Not everyone is free, they're still trapped inside their minds.
A safe haven for our thoughts that no one can ever find.

Not everyone has faith in what happens when you die,
Not everyone believes in a supreme being in the sky,
But that doesn't mean you're wrong, it doesn't mean you're right,
and it sure don't give a reason to go start a major fight.

Expression is a thing that seems to be fading far away,
now everyone is criticzing everything we say,

Now who knows the facts and who knows the lies?
Who knows the ones we're supposed to despise?
Who's facing trials for someone elses tribulations,
While the ones causin problems take extensions on vacations.

Who knows the question when the answers 42?
Who am I to place the blame and should i place the blame on you?
I'm constantly reminded of the simplest mistakes,
still fulla larger ones that were served up on my plate,

This is such a waste of time, is this my time to waste?
Maybe my life is wasted and I just can't pick up the pace.

Here is a song i think everyone may know....

CRANBERRIES
"Zombie"

Another head hangs lowly,
Child is slowly taken.
And the violence caused such silence,
Who are we mistaken?

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, dou, dou, dou, dou, dou...

Another mother's breakin',
Heart is taking over.
When the vi'lence causes silence,
We must be mistaken.

It's the same old theme since nineteen-sixteen.
In your head, in your head they're still fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are dying...

In your head, in your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie,
Hey, hey, hey. What's in your head,
In your head,
Zombie, zombie, zombie?
Hey, hey, hey, hey, oh, oh, oh,
Oh, oh, oh, oh, hey, oh, ya, ya-a...

Alan Parsons Project - I Am A Mirror

Suppose I were to tell you that the meaning of dreams
Is not all that it seems and the ultimate truth is a lie.
And you are just a puppet who can dance on a string.
Do you feel anything?
Would you laugh? would you care? would you cry?

But the meaning of life is a mystery, how can anyone disagree?
And the music is a symphony which we play in a minor key.

I am a mirror. I am a mirror. looking at me you see yourself
I am a mirror. I am a mirror. every face is someone else.
Look at me smile and youre the clown. and if I dance you turn around.
Look in my eyes and see your tears until the music disappears.

So if you are confused and dont know which way to go.
You will certainly know. from the moment were living we die.
And if its all a crazy game you dont want to play
Tell me what you can say.
Its a joke. its the truth. its a lie.

But the meaning of life is a mystery that we dont understand.
And the music is a rhapsody if youre happy the way that you are.

I am a mirror. I am a mirror. looking at me you see yourself
I am a mirror. I am a mirror. every face is someone else.
Look at me smile and youre the clown. and if I dance you turn around.
Look in my eyes and see your tears until the music disappears.

And the meaning of life is a mystery though we live it from day to day.
But the music of live should be harmony so that anyone here can play.

I am a mirror. I am a mirror. looking at me you see yourself
I am a mirror. I am a mirror. every face is someone else.
Look at me smile and youre the clown. and if I dance you turn around.
Look in my eyes and see your tears until the music disappears.

"The 4th Branch"- Immortal Technique

[Talking]
The new age is upon us
And yet the past refuses to rest in its shallow grave
For those who hide behind the false image of the son of man
shall stand before God!!! It has begun
The beginning of the end
Yeah..
Yeah... yeah, yeah

[Verse 1]
The voice of racism preaching the gospel is devilish
A fake church called the prophet Muhammad a terrorist
Forgetting God is not a religion, but a spiritual bond
And Jesus is the most quoted prophet in the Qu'ran
They bombed innocent people, tryin' to murder Saddam
When you gave him those chemical weapons to go to war with Iran
This is the information that they hold back from Peter Jennings
Cause Condoleeza Rice is just a new age Sally Hemmings
I break it down with critical language and spiritual anguish
The Judas I hang with, the guilt of betraying Christ
You murdered and stole his religion, and painting him white
Translated in psychologically tainted philosophy
Conservative political right wing, ideology
Glued together sloppily, the blasphemy of a nation
Got my back to the wall, cause I'm facin' assassination
Guantanamo Bay, federal incarceration
How could this be, the land of the free, home of the brave?
Indigenous holocaust, and the home of the slaves
Corporate America, dancin' offbeat to the rhythm
You really think this country, never sponsored terrorism?
Human rights violations, we continue the saga
El Savador and the contras in Nicaragua
And on top of that, you still wanna take me to prison
Just cause I won't trade humanity for patriotism

[Hook]
It's like MK-ULTRA, controlling your brain
Suggestive thinking, causing your perspective to change
They wanna rearrange the whole point of view of the ghetto
The fourth branch of the government, want us to settle
A bandana full of glittering, generality
Fighting for freedom and fighting terror, but what's reality?
Read about the history of the place that we live in
And stop letting corporate news tell lies to your children

[Verse 2]
Flow like the blood of Abraham through the Jews and the Arabs
Broken apart like a woman's heart, abused in a marriage
The brink of holy war, bottled up, like a miscarriage
Embedded correspondents don't tell the source of the tension
And they refuse to even mention, European intervention
Or the massacres in Jenin, the innocent screams
U.S. manufactured missles, and M-16's
Weapon contracts and corrupted American dreams
Media censorship, blocking out the video screens
A continent of oil kingdoms, bought for a bargain
Democracy is just a word, when the people are starvin'
The average citizen, made to be, blind to the reason
A desert full of genocide, where the bodies are freezin'
And the world doesn't believe that you fightin' for freedom
Cause you -flicked- the Middle East, and gave birth to a demon
It's open season with the CIA, bugging my crib
Trapped in a ghetto region like a Palestinian kid
Where nobody gives a -flick- whether you die or you live
I'm tryin' to give the truth, and I know the price is my life
But when I'm gone they'll sing a song about Immortal Technique
Who beheaded the President, and the princes and sheiks
You don't give a -flick- about us, I can see through your facade
Like a fallen angel standing in the presence of God
Bitch niggaz scared of the truth, when it looks at you hard

[Hook]
It's like MK-ULTRA, controlling your brain
Suggestive thinking, causing your perspective to change
They wanna rearrange the whole point of view in the ghetto
The fourth branch of the government, want us to settle
A bandana full of glittering, generality
Fighting for freedom and fighting terror, but what's reality?
Martial law is coming soon to the hood, to kill you
While you hanging your flag out your project window

[Talking]
Yeah..
The fourth branch of the government AKA the media
Seems to now have a retirement plan for ex-military officials
As if their opinion was at all unbiased
A machine shouldn't speak for men
So shut the -flick- up you mindless drone!
And you know it's serious
When these same media outfits are spending millions of dollars on a PR campaign
To try to convince you they're fair and balanced
When they're some of the most ignorant, and racist people
Giving that type of mentality a safe haven
We act like we share in the spoils of war that they do
We die in wars, we don't get the contracts to make money off 'em afterwards!
We don't get weapons contracts, nigga!
We don't get cheap labor for our companies, nigga!
We are cheap labor, nigga!
Turn off the news and read, nigga!
Read... read... read...

Green Day
"Macy's Day Parade"

Today's the Macy's Day Parade
The night of the living dead is on its way
With a credit report for duty call
It's a lifetime guarantee
Stuffed in a coffin 10% more free
Red light special at the mausoleum

Give me something that I need
Satisfaction guaranteed to you
What's the consolation prize?
Economy sized dreams of hope

When I was a kid I thought
I wanted all the things that I haven't got
Oh, but I learned the hardest way
Then I realized what it took
To tell the difference between
Thieves and crooks
A lesson learned to me and you

Give me something that I need
Satisfaction guaranteed

'Cause I'm thinking about
A brand new hope
The one I've never known
'Cause now I know
It's all that I wanted

What's the consolation prize?
Economy sized dreams of hope
Give me something that I need
Satisfaction guaranteed

'Cause I'm thinking about
A brand new hope
The one I've never known
And where it goes

And I'm thinking about
The ONLY road
The one I've never known
And where it goes

And I'm thinking about
A brand new hope
The one I've never known
'Cause now I know
It's all that I wanted

Marcel Khalifa
The anthem of bread and roses
My translation

You have enough bread for yourself
but not enough for all people
and the land is full of wheat
stand up and fight

You have enough love for yourself
but not enough for all people
and the land is roses and messages
stand up and fight

You have enough land and house for yourself
but not enough for all people
and the land is full of sand
stand up and fight

stand up and leave no prisons
stand up and leave no chains
be a light among the lights
stand up and fight

for months this obscure but great song from a band called Colonel Bagshot has been repeating in my head. it's called Six Day War and was recorded in 1971.

listen to this haunting song here: http://s110.photobucket.com/albums/n89/NoFatClips/?action=view&current=ColonelBagshot-SixDayWar.flv

Colonel Bagshot - Six Day War

At the starting of the week
At summit talks you’'ll hear them speak
It’'s only Monday
Negotiations breaking down
See those leaders start to frown
It’'s sword and gun day

Tomorrow never comes until it'’s too late

You could be sitting taking lunch
The news will hit you like a punch
It'’s only Tuesday
You never thought we'’d go to war
After all the things we saw
It'’s April Fools’ day

Tomorrow never comes until it’'s too late
Tomorrow never comes until it’'s too late

You hear a whistling overhead
Are you alive or are you dead?
It’'s only Thursday
You feel a shaking on the ground
A billion candles burn around
Is it your birthday?

Tomorrow never comes until it’'s too late
Tomorrow never comes until it'’s too late
Make tomorrow come I think it’'s too late

Too bad this one doesn't get no play on the radio waves.

KMFDM - New American Century

Count your blessings
Walk the line
Don't move too fast
Or fall behind
There are rules you must obey
They get re-written by the day
Don't do this - don't say that
Your every move is logged and tracked
By the all oppressive eye
Spy satellites in friendly skies

The new american century
Has only just begun
No one exempt from the tragedy
Counterattack start pushing back

Fight the power
That chokes your speech
Fight the power
That makes you bleed
Fight the power
That propogates lies
To keep you weak
Keep you in line
Fight the power that reigns you in
Divides and conquers
Defines your sin
Fight the power
For one and all
Before the power swallows us whole

No one dares to say a word
Our panic drives all human herds
In the land where cash is king
Our silence bought and sold for free
The future's banging on our door
When real I.D. will be the law
Love thy neighbor and turn him in
It's call patriotism

The world is watching in disbelief
Chanting shame on you
How can you stand by so quietly
Letting them rape your liberties

You can't be bothered or concerned
You see no reason for alarm
Prejudice, religion hate
Usher in new mandate
Absolute and resolved
One nation under one god
Lack of interest has its price
As we're stripped of all our rights

Those who cannot learn from history
Are doomed to repeat it!

Working Class Hero -- John Lennon

As soon as your born they make you feel small,
By giving you no time instead of it all,
Till the pain is so big you feel nothing at all,

A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.

They hurt you at home and they hit you at school,
They hate you if you're clever and they despise a fool,
Till you're so facking crazy you can't follow their rules,

A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.

When they've tortured and scared you for twenty odd years,
Then they expect you to pick a career,
When you can't really function you're so full of fear,

A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.

Keep you doped with religion and sex and TV,
And you think you're so clever and classless and free,
But you're still facking peasants as far as I can see,

A working class hero is something to be,
A working class hero is something to be.

There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,
If you want to be like the folks on the hill,

A working class hero is something to be.
A working class hero is something to be.

If you want to be a hero well just follow me,
If you want to be a hero well just follow me.

Make sure to look on YouTube for the music video, and include the link. I just heard a song called "Change" by Tracy Chapman that I liked:

If you knew that you would die today,
Saw the face of God and love,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you knew that love can break your heart
When you're down so low you cannot fall
Would you change?
Would you change?

How bad, how good does it need to get?
How many losses? How much regret?
What chain reaction would cause an effect?
Makes you turn around,
Makes you try to explain,
Makes you forgive and forget,
Makes you change?
Makes you change?

If you knew that you would be alone,
Knowing right, being wrong,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you knew that you would find a truth
That brings up pain that can't be soothed
Would you change?
Would you change?

How bad, how good does it need to get?
How many losses? How much regret?
What chain reaction would cause an effect?
Makes you turn around,
Makes you try to explain,
Makes you forgive and forget,
Makes you change?
Makes you change?

Are you so upright you can't be bent?
If it comes to blows are you so sure you won't be crawling?
If not for the good, why risk falling?
Why risk falling?

If everything you think you know,
Makes your life unbearable,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you'd broken every rule and vow,
And hard times come to bring you down,
Would you change?
Would you change?

If you knew that you would die today,
If you saw the face of God and love,
Would you change?
Would you change?
Would you change?
Would you change?
New Beginning is very inspiring too, and parallels the vision of this site:

The whole worlds broke and it aint worth fixing
Its time to start all over, make a new beginning
Theres too much pain, too much suffering
Lets resolve to start all over make a new beginning
Now dont get me wrong - I love life and living
But when you wake up and look around at everything thats going down -
All wrong
You see we need to change it now, this world with too few happy endings
We can resolve to start all over make a new beginning

Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over

The world is broken into fragments and pieces
That once were joined together in a unified whole
But now too many stand alone - theres too much separation
We can resolve to come together in the new beginning

Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over

We can break the cycle - we can break the chain
We can start all over - in the new beginning
We can learn, we can teach
We can share the myths the dream the prayer
The notion that we can do better
Change our lives and paths
Create a new world and

Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over

The whole worlds broke and it aint worth fixing
Its time to start all over, make a new beginning
Theres too much fighting, too little understanding
Its time to stop and start all over
Make a new beginning

Start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over

We need to make new symbols
Make new signs
Make a new language
With these well define the world

And start all over
Start all over
Start all over
Start all over

I would like to elaborate a comment on this one some day. I have been bewitched by this song since long time ago, and I have come-up with some rather unsettling theories about it.
I do have the mp3. Where could I upload it to have a download link?

Blinded by the Light
Manfred Mann's Earth Band

- words and music by Bruce Springsteen
- Manfred Mann's Earth Band version (Warner 8252) was released August 1976
and reached #1 in early 1977. It was in the Billboard Top 40 for 15 weeks.
- lyrics as recorded by Manfred Mann's Earth Band on the 1976 album
"The Roaring Silence" (Warner 3055)

Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night

Madman drummers bummers, Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older, I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasin', sneezin' and wheezin, the calliope crashed to the ground
The calliope crashed to the ground

But she was...
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night

Some silicone sister with a manager mister told me I go what it takes
She said "I'll turn you on sonny to something strong, play the song with the funky break"
And go-cart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart to see if it was safe outside
And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride
Asked me if I needed a ride

But she was...
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light

She got down but she never got tired
She's gonna make it through the night
She's gonna make it through the night

------ guitar solo ------

But mama, that's where the fun is
But mama, that's where the fun is
Mama always told me not to look into the eye's of the sun
But mama, that's where the fun is

Some brimstone baritone anticyclone rolling stone preacher from the east
Says, "Dethrone the dictaphone, hit it in it's funny bone, that's where they expect it least"
And some new-mown chaperone was standin' in the corner, watching the young girls dance
And some fresh-sown moonstone was messin' with his frozen zone, reminding him of romance
The calliope crashed to the ground

But she was...
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night

(the following two sections are sung simultaneously)

1)
~ Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
~ Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
~ Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
~ Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
~ Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
~ Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
~ Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night
~ Blinded by the light

2)
~ Madman drummers bummers, Indians in the summer with a teenage diplomat
~ In the dumps with the mumps as the adolescent pumps his way into his hat
~ With a boulder on my shoulder, feelin' kinda older, I tripped the merry-go-round
~ With this very unpleasin', sneezin' and wheezin, the calliope crashed to the ground
~ Now Scott with a slingshot finially found a tender spot and throws his lover in the sand
~ And some bloodshot forget-me-not said daddy's within earshot save the buckshot, turn up the band
~ Some silicone sister with a manager mister told me I go what it takes
~ She said "I'll turn you on sonny to something strong"

She got down but she never got tired
She's gonna make it through the night
