Video: African shaman performing levitation

Mikey

The Living Force
I watched this and I must say that it looks pretty convincing. After the shaman apparently has used up his accumulated energy, he drops down to the ground like a stone. Also, the expressions in his face are very interesting.

Looks like a hoax. Usually for levitation spectacles, a lifting system is behind the 'levitating' person.
The usual trick is to sit on the board but this one is standing up, but his legs are open (possibly sitting on a thin board (must hurt) hence his apparent unstable equilibrium). So the lifting system is behind him and at the level of the "sitting zone" (don't know how to tell it in English).
The first cameraman is in front of the personage and surprisingly doesn't move to the side so we could see what's behind. The second cameraman focuses on the head and the feet of the personage, avoiding the "sitting zone" so we can never know if he was using a lifting system or not.

well, anything is possible... If he's acting he's done an excellent show. I noticed him hyper ventelating. When he was "floating" in watching his bottom torso sway like his feet were kinda like trying to stand on ice, very slick ice.
:guru: :guru: :guru:
And then dropped like a rock.
:D :D :D

Interesting video. If it's a trick then it's pretty convincing, but if it's real then all I can say is this:

If a human being persues the esoterica for the majority of his life just to achieve a brief useless levitation feat then what a waste :(

Having seen American illusionists David Blaine & Chris Angel do similar levatating on TV, maybe it could be done. These two have done this in front of people on the street where no ropes can be possible. For your viewing pleasure a couple of youtubes:

Seems David Blaine experiences some pain afterwards.

David Blaine's trick is overdone many times:

But for Chris Angel, I think he has more budget for more spectacular tricks, and the spectators are in on it, again it's all about money, and people just love acting it's in our blood ;D

Amazing isn't it. of course it is practical trick.

Especially I think no, not in our dimension for 3D being.

I think there's simply something like a thin iron rod under him and he is on a hole or a cave. Doing the show on the night is not insignificant, details are masked. The fire circle is here to dissuade others to come too close.

Looks like a hoax

I think it could be a hoax as well. They did not show his back and did
not put the camera above his head and it was dark. But it could also
be the real deal as well but not enough evidence to show he is a real
shaman.

Looks like a hoax to me too. I didn't see any metal rods under his feet but it is very suspicious that they say they are going to go to the side of him to get a closer view of the event and then completely block the view of whats behind him.

I think his wobbling/balancing was a giveaway that it was a hoax. If you are levitating, you are probably not trying to "balance" yourself ... you are just whole-body floating.

I had the same idea but thought he could be a beginner, like learning of riding a bicycle, as it were.

This is amazing I thought at first. But here comes the professional debunking. One wonders if the whole thing (illusion + debunking) was created intentionally to hide the existence of true levitation.
