Just wanted to share that finally I grabbed an opportunity to have the remainder of my home made and assembled jewellery collection up for sale in an actual shop. I started making, designing and assembling pieces over 12 years ago and, being the most non-commercial person on the planet, always had pieces sold at house parties organized by friends. Many times though, seeing how wonderful items would look on ladies, I ended up giving many pieces away. Since we moved to Portugal over 3 years ago, I have not had any access to the good stuff and have not done much creating since. Besides, reading, researching and translating takes up most of my time, so I had kind of closed the jewellery chapter.
So, when my friend here opened up a gift shop in our village's five star luxury hotel a few weeks ago, I remembered the encouraging and warm words of @Alana, @maiko and @Chu and decided to be just bold and ask her if she would be interested in selling my pieces in her shop. She was! So thank you so much, ladies!!
Yesterday, my friend sent me this picture of the display:
When I went over to hand over my stuff last Thursday, i noticed it wasn't really hard to let go of my goodies, whereas before, i sometimes found it difficult to part with some pieces. (I did keep quite a few silver and gold items though, who knows when they might come in handy for trading when things go kaflooey).
Anyway, let us hope that there are people out there that resonate with some items and wear them with as much joy as i experienced creating them. If not though, I am already so happy that my precious friends enjoy their moment in the spotlight!
