Dont really know where to put this one .

Im searching for any interesting podcasts that folks may have come across and can point me in the direction of. It can be on any topic , including music ones. No subject matter barred. Preferably ones beneficial to human kind.

Of course put one of these "_"http in front of the url so as not to give life to the link. Or drop me a line via website.

Cheers

Yeah, I'm interested too. I just came here to make a similar post. also, does anyone know if there are any Work related books available on audio book? I have a 45 minute commute to work and could use something to listen to. I used to listen to the SOTT podcasts but there haven't been any new ones for some time.

Rabbit:

Dunno if this is up your street or not, but I really enjoy the podcasts available on the BBC Radio-4 website, particularly those in the History section. I listen to the following series on a regular basis:

In Our Time
The website for this series offers the opportunity to listen to programs going back several years, in its Archives section, which is organized under Current Series, Science, Religion, Philosophy, History, and Culture. So there's a lot to choose from.

Making History
This series also has an Archives section, where you can listen to programs going all the way back to 2001.

Great Lives
Unfortunately, you can only listen to each program for one week after broadcast, and there are no archives. But they profile a wide range of interesting people. They recently featured the novelist Katherine Mansfield, who studied under Gurdjieff.

Lots of other good podcasts available on Radio-4. Some programs are currently "on haitus", though.

I'm also curious what would come out here :)

(on the same page above Jenny's Book Show also makes for good listening...

EDIT: Also check out the "Chris Smith, The Naked Scientist" podcasts if you click on "The Best of Redi Direko - podcast". I love this show!

Also check out what's available on CBC Radio Podcasts. Particular favourites of mine are

"Q" (Arts/Culture/Entertainment)

"Vinyl Cafe" (Humorous stories)

"Words at Large" (Books/Writers)

"Writers and Company" (Books/Writers)

"Ideas" (Everything!)

"How to Think About Science"

"Quirks and Quarks" (Science)

"Search Engine" (The Internet)

"Outfront" (Documentaries)

Some really extraordinary and fascinating interviews can be found on the Anti-War.com website, in its Anti-War Radio section. It's extremely user-friendly, with archives going back two years, and past interviews that are organized both by interviewee and "subject".
