Greta Thunberg: False Prophet of the Children's Crusade

STOCKHOLM - Climate activist Greta Thunberg was on Monday (July 20) awarded a Portuguese rights award and promptly pledged the million-euro prize to groups working to protect the environment and halt climate change.

Greta Thunberg donates million-euro rights prize to green groups

That is more money than I can begin to imagine, but all the prize money will be donated, through my foundation, to different organisations and projects who are working to help people on the front line, affected by the climate crisis and ecological crisis," the Swedish teen said in a video posted online.

She was awarded the Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity for the way she "has been able to mobilize younger generations for the cause of climate change and her tenacious struggle to alter a status quo that persists", Jorge Sampaio, chair of the prize jury, said earlier.

The first 100,000 euros (S$159,000) of the prize money will go to the "SOS Amazonia" campaign led by Fridays For Future Brazil to tackle the coronavirus outbreak in the Amazon.

Another 100,000 euros will go to the Stop Ecocide Foundation "to support their work to make ecocide an international crime", Thunberg said on Twitter.

The million euro is the largest prize won by the 17-year-old environmental campaigner who has also won Amnesty International's top human rights prize and the Swedish Right Livelihood Award, often presented as an alternative Nobel.

She said on Monday she was "extremely honoured" to receive the annual Gulbenkian prize.

Thunberg and three other young climate activists last Thursday (July 16) launched an appeal to EU leaders to "face up to the climate emergency", in an open letter signed by 150 scientists and a host of celebrities.
Looks like a good way to funnel, (launder) money around the globe... So Greta already has her own foundation, not bad for a 17 yr old student.

Ah, little Greta is on the cover....
“ (25 September) the Guardian will launch the first issue of its new, super-sized magazine, Saturday.
“The first issue of Saturday features Greta Thunberg on the cover, photographed by Marcus Ohlsson, as never seen before. In an exclusive interview by Simon Hattenstone, she opens up about the reality of being the world’s most famous activist, and the personal transformation she has had since beginning her school strike for the climate.”

Black goo, is it oil, graphite..?
Then it’s completely covering her right eye, Geezus, how much more in plain sight is this “HailSatan” show gonna get?

On LinkedIn there was an article: Game on: Food chain reaction By Kris Carlson Published November 30, 2015, but certainly updated since:
How are we going to solve this global problem?
We got a glimpse into how this might play out through the Food Chain Reaction Game. On Nov. 9 and 10, Thomson Reuters came together with event organizers Cargill, CNA, Mars, World Wildlife Fund and the Center for American Progress in Washington DC for a simulation. The ‘game’ was set between 2020 and 2030, and consisted of four rounds of collaboration between teams looking at how the public and private sectors might respond as climate change impacts the world’s growing population and our food supply chain. The eight teams included high level decision-makers from India, China, the EU, Brazil, Continental Africa, the U.S., multilateral institutions, as well as businesses and investors. An adjudication cell group of industry experts and academics set a baseline scenario in which the global food chain came under strong but realistic stress from 2020 to 2030. They were tasked with judging how the team responses would affect the trajectory of the global food chain during this period of stress.

Game on

We sent two people to the games: Kris Carlson (Global Head of Agriculture) participated on the business and investors team, and Corey Cherr (Head of Agriculture & Weather Research and Forecasts) was a member of the judging group. Play consisted of several rounds. Teams decided their actions and policy responses to the baseline scenario, and were free to negotiate agreements or develop multilateral strategies to manage food chain disruption. Just like in the real world, leaders were forced to come to agreement on their reaction to the events across the course of the baseline scenario.
Through each round the teams were assessed on how well their responses mitigated or aggravated the developing stress on the global food system, as well as their trade-offs and cascading effects on security and resource availability.

Food security affects everyone and we’re there with the answers
Notable attendees during the game included former democratic senate majority leader Tom Daschle and keynote speaker John Podesta.
Mr. Podesta served as chief of staff to President Clinton and currently leading the 2016 presidential campaign for Hillary Clinton. Mr. Podesta and Mr. Daschle both consider the food supply chain to be one of our most important global concerns for the future. The connection of food security to political stability and avoidance of social unrest ultimately affect everyone in society. Thomson Reuters is committed to understanding and reporting on potential impacts to our supply chains. As the answer company, customers look to Thomson Reuters for how specific events will affect world markets and global security. Our in-depth research and data helps them manage risk in advance and prepare for a wide variety of scenarios. The Food Chain Reaction game provided deeper understanding into how countries and organizations could react to future events, but the world cannot manage its global food supply, resource and security without transparent information. In agriculture, Thomson Reuters plays a very important role in the world by providing transparency through our pricing, news, and research and forecast services. The Thomson Reuters Trust Principles [Link] guide us to produce independent, unbiased global production forecasts and news on key agricultural production areas. Our view matters and our involvement in events such as this exemplifies our leadership as the commodities information provider to the world. Stay tuned to the Hub for more information and some key findings from the Food Chain Reaction game. In January 2016, game organizers including researchers from CNA will release key findings and learnings from the game. Incidentally, this event has a six years jubilee on November 9 and 10 while we have the COP26 happening. Of course, the US Democrats expected to win the election in 2016 which may have precipitated some events to occur sooner.

The above game reminds one of the White Papers from Climate Mobilization. I have written about the movement and its founder Margaret Salamon Klein earlier in this thread (last half) and more later in the same thread:.

In their document Blueprint for a Climate Emergency Movement
https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/fe55ec_79e69ca7863c4f0bacb598e21650b267.pdf# they wrote
About the Climate Mobilization

The Climate Mobilization (TCM) launched in September 2014 at the People’s Climate March in New York City. Our mission is to initiate a World War II-scale mobilization that protects civilization and the natural world by reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions nationally in ten years or less and globally by 2030, and drawing down the excess carbon in the atmosphere to restore a safe climate for humanity. TCM founder Margaret Klein Salamon is a clinical psychologist who has focused on understanding and counteracting the psychological and emotional barriers to engagement with the climate crisis. In our two and a half years of existence, we have grown from a tiny group to a national grassroots movement.
The front page of the Blueprint is shown below.

Interestingly enough, there is a recent article on SOTT:
On why Putin criticized the Bolshevik counter revolution: Trotsky, Parvus and the War on Civilization which has:
"Just over a century ago, Russia objectively faced serious problems... Russia could have dealt with its problems gradually and in a civilised manner. But revolutionary shocks led to the collapse and disintegration of a great power... These examples from our history allow us to say that revolutions are not a way to settle a crisis but a way to aggravate it. No revolution was worth the damage it did to the human potential."
Is Putin hinting at a possible future development, in the West especially. Even if it does not happen directly because of CO2 and Covid, what has been set in motion on various fronts, could lead to internal violent situations within nations, as if it was intended just like the Bolshevik revolution, the Cultural Revolution, and the Maidan revolution in Ukraine. Though in a sense the Covid measures are like a top-down revolution with the violence not so much being committed by angry mobs, but by governments against their own people through the instrumentation of their health care systems, the ministries of justice, propaganda, citizens who consider themselves vigilantes, and when necessary the forces of law and citizens.

For a CO2 driven transformation of society, Thunberg soldiers and mobilized citizens would come in handy, like the volunteer battalions that created havoc in Ukraine. If during Covid19, we have been told to watch out for the elders, and those that are vaccinated, etc. now we can be told to watch out for the Earth and all included. To take care of the Earth and the environment, I agree with, as long as it is honest talk and arguments. This is not the case here. Rather, one can suspect an imagined greater cause in the minds of some, be they citizens or governments, will be used to justify a still greater use of force and compulsion. Based on the examples of the Covid measures, it is hard to be overly optimistic that it will be otherwise.

@thorbiorn,

That was a sobering video and it shows how the NWO is now following through with plans they have been developing for many years.

It should become very obvious now but for many/most probably too late.

Session 30 October 2021:
Q: (Joe) What is driving global governments to officially pursue a transformation to green energy, dropping fossil fuels, and investing in renewables?

A: Destruction of lives.

That was a sobering video and it shows how the NWO is now following through with plans they have been developing for many years.
I agree to that. Very instructive video from Christian and it shows that this shortage is worldwide. Like he says then some will say that it is a good thing as we then will be forced to eat organic based on sustainable practices and I have seen comments on facebook saying the same. The point is that such a transition would have to take decades and not from one year to the next. With a massive reduction in food supply due to lack of fertilisers and pesticides with which most of the worlds food is produced, then the end result is famine, food riots and deaths. A reduction in agricultural output by 50% would reduce carrying capacity of the world's population in a drastic way not least when coupled with weakened immune systems due to vaccines.

United in suffering as the C's mentioned some years ago, sounds about right for the prospects for the coming year.

Chilling story, and not without portent in this day and age.

In April 1856, a young girl from the Xhosa tribe named Nongqawuse walked with a friend to the banks of the Gxarha River, near the Indian Ocean. This was in an area that is now the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The two girls met two men who claimed to be ancestor spirits bringing a message from their ancestors: The Xhosa dead will rise up and lead the people into an era of freedom and prosperity.

In order for this to happen, the strangers explained, the Xhosa people would have to abandon all of their old ways. They specifically said that witchcraft, sorcery, and sexual promiscuity had to be ended. The Xhosa people were to dedicate their time to building new pens for cattle and new fields for the new crops that would suddenly spring forth with the arrival of their spirit ancestors.

There was one catch to this. The Xhosa were a people who depended primarily on cattle and the growing of crops to feed their cattle. The prophecy passed to Nongqawuse stipulated that the new era of prosperity would only come when the Xhosa killed all of their cattle and destroyed the means with which to raise them. This great leap of faith is what would usher in the triumph of their people.

Incredibly, the Xhosa people, upon hearing this tale from Nongqawuse and her friend, embarked on a campaign of killing their cattle. Not everyone was convinced that this was the right thing to do, but many accepted the prophecy, mostly because important members of the tribe had said they accepted it. This validation from people in authority was enough to convince them the prophecy was real.

Nongqawuse predicted that the prophecy would be fulfilled on Feb. 18, 1857, when the sun would turn red. This did not happen, so Chief Sarili went to the river to visit with the girls and came back convinced they got the date wrong. The prophecy would come true in eight days, so the people had better get cracking on the cattle killing in order to be ready for the great transition to the glorious future.

The result of this lunacy was that 80 percent of the population died from the subsequent famine caused by the cattle killing. It seems incredible to modern people that a population would try to commit suicide because a teenage girl claimed she saw the future, but we live in an age in which Greta Thunberg is treated like a prophet by the environmental movement. She is our Nongqawuse.

The general consensus as to why this happened is that the Xhosa people were under a great deal of pressure from other tribes as well as the white man. The Boers and the British were a great technological challenge, but they also brought new disease, like the “lung sickness” that affected Xhosa cattle. For a primitive people, it surely must have seemed like they were cursed in some way.

That was what made Nongqawuse possible. She gave the men in charge of her people something they desperately wanted to hear. Their status and authority were under pressure, as they had no answers for the challenges they faced. Nongqawuse provided a way to resolve those fears and anxieties. The prophecy gave the leaders purpose and the authority to compel their people to act on the prophecy.

This provides some insight into what is going on with the political elites of the West and their embrace of the cult of climate change. Consider the flamboyant Secretary of Transportation for the Biden administration, Pete Buttigieg. He spends his days preaching about electric cars and how they will free us from the shackles of fossil fuels, even though he has no idea how this will work or if it can work.

It is not even clear that he believes in Gaia or that she is vexed at your lawnmower, but believing the climate-change prophecies solves a problem for him. When you are sure Gaia is angry at Western man for his racism and lawnmowers, but you are impotent to do anything about it, believing in the mysteries of electric cars is a nice escape. Instead of being a meaningless placeholder in government, Pete Buttigieg is a bringer of hope.

You get a whiff of this from European leaders when they talk about the looming natural-gas shortage this winter. They often talk about it as a necessary step in the transition to what they call renewable energy, a thing that does not exist. It is as if they are stimulated at the thought of people huddled in the dark, getting what heat they can from burning the last of their furniture.

The job of the green apparatchik in the E.U. is to persuade the people to overcome their fear of cold showers in winter. They imagine themselves one day on those Soviet-style posters, striking a heroic pose as they lead their people away from the land of smokestacks and warm houses to the glorious future. What lies ahead does not matter as the crusade gives the dreary functionaries a reason to live.

If the only result of this strange cult that has gripped so many of the ruling class resulted in nothing more than weird public statements, no one need care. The Xhosa example is a good reminder that when powerful people come to believe insane things, they will try to impose that insanity on their people. This is what we are seeing in the West as the greens try to roll back the last three centuries of technological progress.

Interestingly, the failure of the prophecies did not wake the Xhosa people up to the fraud that was being perpetrated on them by their leaders. When the dates came and went, the believers simply turned on the nonbelievers, blaming their lack of faith for the prophecies not being fulfilled. Again, this is something we see with the environmental movements in the West. Your lack of faith is the real problem.

The example of the Xhosa is something to keep in mind as we see the greens implement their agenda. The collapse of Sri Lanka due to the embrace of green agriculture, which collapsed the economy, does not register. The revolt of Dutch farmers over what is literally a cattle-killing scheme is not causing anyone in charge to reconsider their plans. For the zealots, none of this matters.

This is what happens when fanatics are put in charge. They have no internal mechanism to reconsider their fanaticism, so they go as far as reality will let them and then they are destroyed. When the fanatics are put in charge of a society, they take that society with them into the abyss of their fanaticism. The suffering we see coming from green policies is, to the believers, proof that the policies are working.

One final lesson from the Xhosa is that after the death of 80 percent of their people, the remainder did not turn on the remaining believers. In fact, the location of the prophecy is still called the Valley of Nongqawuse. The skeptics were called “the stingy ones” for their unwillingness to sacrifice their cattle to the cause. It is not hard to imagine something similar in the ruins of the West. Those who warned about the dangers will be remembered as the deniers by the people in the Valley of Greta.

Chilling story, and not without portent in this day and age.
...Those who warned about the dangers will be remembered as the deniers by the people in the Valley of Greta.

Yup. And as @hesperides pointed out, Valley of the Greta is described here as Nelloptodes gretae

Took this photo a few years ago. It is kind of a Parks Canada taking the knee with their ode to e-vehicles in the name of C02 reduction. It is the only facility (1) between Golden and Revelstoke, BC (146 km) that services around 5,400 cars/trucks per day.

If one was to wonder at the construction costs of this (1) e-pump, well $250,000 would probably not be a stretch, could be less (or more + annual snow maintenance and deicing).

There are no traditional fuel stations between the above places (well there used to be about where the e-pump is located, before it all got scrapped).

Welcome to the Future e-illusion.

Is Greta Thunberg finally growing up?

Greta Thunberg Says Germany Should Keep Its Nuclear Plants Open

800x-1.jpg

Germany shouldn’t close nuclear plants that are currently generating power if it means increasing the burning of coal, Greta Thunberg said.

“If we have them already running, I feel that it’s a mistake to close them down in order to focus on coal,” the Swedish climate activist, 19, said in an interview with Germany’s Das Erste TV channel.

The country, which has Europe’s biggest economy, planned to shut down nuclear reactors by year’s end after public opinion turned against the energy source in the aftermath of Japan’s Fukushima disaster.

France usually exports power to Germany during the winter when demand jumps, but outages at Electricite de France SA’s nuclear reactors risk tightening supply across Europe and triggering enforced power cuts. [Source Bloomberg]

German talkshow host Sandra Maischberger traveled to Sweden especially for today's edition of her talk show to talk to the climate activist about the energy crisis, environmental protection and her personal future.

HNA24XBEFBFFXMTG5XA3B3ZGLA.jpg

"Personally, I think it's a bad idea to rely on coal while the nuclear plants are still running." Much more than keeping nuclear power plants running, she is concerned that coal-fired power plants not be pulled from reserve, as planned by the German government, to secure the power supply. Thunberg has been campaigning for their consistent closure for years.

In addition to the impact of the energy crisis on environmental protection, Thunberg spoke to Maischberger, who had traveled to Stockholm especially for the interview, about her personal plans for the future. She became known as the founder of the climate movement "Fridays for Future," which attracted international attention primarily because of climate strikes by schoolchildren.

Now Thunberg is about to graduate from high school. "School strikes for climate won't work then," she says.
"It feels weird."

Instead, she wants to study social sciences, she says. However, the 19-year-old cannot imagine a career in politics, she says.

So she is growing up...

Thunberg's years-long depression was spurred by her concern for climate change. Her father said she wouldn't speak to children her own age - or anyone else for that matter. She eventually spoke with her parents, sister and one teacher about her internal struggles. This lasted "three or four years." NCRM

This interview is about to unleash a political firestorm in German politics where there is a battle going on between conservative forces and industrial circles on one side, and the Greens plus their leftwing comrades on the other.

The latter must be absolutely shocked that their darling which had been formed into a saintly figure by the media suddenly seems 'to have lost it'.

greta-thunberg-ueberrascht-auf-buehne-wir-naehern-uns-dem-abgrund-.jpg

It makes you wonder why Greta has been given such prominence by the usually left-leaning ARD television syndicate.
Where they actually surprised by her new ideas? Or are there dissenting currents within the system?

Sandra Maischberger was actually traveling to Sweden to have Greta on her show, a treatment normally reserved for royalty.

The state-controlled radio and TV conglomerate (ARD/ZDF) officially termed as 'regulated by public law' is an industry with a yearly revenue of around 8 billion euros which are enforced by 'license fees'. If the German economy falters their edifice is going to crumble as well. Is the official TV industry aligning itself with the pro-nuclear lobby?

Incidentally they will need electric power to manipulate and discipline the population.

Could be a case of ideology meeting reality. The elites must know that they will be finished if the lights truly go out, don't they?
