These are some of my favourites where the meaning changes with a bit of 'knowledge'.
From the New Testament (Christian)
'Render unto Caesar, that which is Caesar's & unto God, that which is God's'
Inference here is Caesar is 'bad' & God is 'good'
From what the C's have shared, Caesar is STO & god is STS
That is, a complete reversal of the meaning
Now, how did that get past the censorship
From Christianity
'The Lord is my Shepherd .........'
Inference is that this is a 'good' thing and beneficial
Now, consider what a shepherd is:
He keeps sheep /goats/etc. for his benefit & takes their wool, meat, milk & lives at will
He forcefully breeds the females
Neuters the excess males /slaughters them whilst they are young
If he has no further use for a sheep he kills it
If he does need to protect or shelter the flock, it is done only for his benefits /profits
Sounds very STS to me & convinces me that I don't want a 'shepherd' looking out for me.
If you have any other, please share.
