Fascism in action: The Miami Model

Wikipedia said:
The Miami model is a term used by political activists to describe the tactics employed by law enforcement agencies during demonstrations relating to the negotions for the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) trade agreement. The meeting related protests took place in Miami, Florida in November 2003.
I just watched some footage from that day on Youtube. Especially note the conscienceless reactions from police officers in the second half of the clip, and the truly pathetic apologies afterwards. Disturbing is an understatement.

"Disturbing is an understatement" is an understatement. I never trusted the authorities, and seeing this, was akin to surrounding my house (conviction) with titanium reinforced concrete. Unbeleivable.

The most disturbing part of this that I can see is not so much the video (because I've even experienced this in Ottawa, Canada, and just on the tail of the debacle in Quebec City. . . Plenty of people I know have comparable stories. . .)

It's not the video, jeesh; get used to that, that's to be expected from cops who are volunteering their overtime hours to 'kick some protestor ass', and their behaviour is just spooling up right now: It's the comment responses. . . the incredible, horrifying support the police are receiving in the comments section of that video. . .
