Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

The flechette weapons described in this article remind me of weapons used by Israel back around 2006. They give me the creeps. They are absolutely revolting, basically like military nail bombs. Very appropriate for terrorist acts. I can't see any good reason why a modern military would use them. If this is really a finding of the investigation, will anyone hear about this outside the alternative media? Unlikely
This was published in the Guardian - who didn't acknowledge that Ukrainian military also uses this artillery. They mention the IDF at the end of the article, and mention that they are designed for large concentrations of enemy troops.

White Helmets instructors deployed to Ukraine, Moscow claims

Kiev is plotting a false flag attack with weapons of mass destruction to frame Moscow, a senior Russian diplomat has alleged

Apr. 25, 2022

Ukrainian authorities and their foreign handlers are planning false-flag attacks involving weapons of mass destruction, Russia’s deputy permanent representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky said on Monday. For that purpose, instructors of the notorious Syria-based White Helmets group have already been deployed to Ukraine, the official told reporters.

The diplomat effectively reiterated the allegations raised over the weekend by the head of the Russian Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Force, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, who said the supposed plans harbored by the Kiev regime include “three scenarios,” ranging from a false-flag attack on civilians, to “tactical” small-scale use of WMDs and open deployment of such weaponry on the battlefield.

To facilitate the allegedly looming false-flag attack, overseas “handlers” of the Kiev authorities have sent “instructors” of the notorious White Helmets group to Ukraine, Polyansky stated.

“There is a well-known model in which such provocations [involving chemical weapons] are used in other parts of the world. First, a so-called chemical incident is organized. Then pro-Western non-governmental organizations, especially the infamous White Helmets, stationed nearby, quickly arrive on the scene and collect, in violation of all the norms of the non-proliferation regime, questionable ‘evidence’, and then feed this story to the Western media. We all know this technology,” Polyansky said.

"I can say that the curators of the Kiev regime are not very creative, so they are readying more or less the same scenario for Ukraine. The White Helmets instructors are already in Ukraine."

The White Helmets group, co-founded by late British mercenary and presumed ex-intelligence officer James Le Mesurier, rose to international notoriety amid the years-long conflict in Syria.

The group, advertising itself as ‘Syrian Civil Defense’, has operated exclusively in areas controlled by assorted jihadist groups opposing President Bashar Assad’s government. The White Helmets have been involved in multiple purported ‘chemical incidents’ blamed on government troops and used by Western nations to carry out strikes against the Syrian military and its allies.

Polyansky stressed that Moscow harbors no plans to use any kind of WMDs in Ukraine. While Russia does not even possess any chemical or biological weapons, using them would not make any military sense, the diplomat went on.

“What is the point of using them in Ukraine in an immediate vicinity of our border? We will get nothing that could not be achieved through conventional means,” he said.

‘Traitors’ will be executed – Ukrainian governor

Head of Ukraine’s Nikolaev Region, Vitaly Kim, has revealed a secret force was created to eliminate “traitors”

Apr. 25, 2022

Vitaly Kim, who serves as the governor of Ukraine’s Nikolaev Region, has warned that citizens cooperating with Russian forces will face extrajudicial execution. He revealed the chilling fate awaiting “traitors” during a live TV broadcast last Thursday.

Kim made the comment, on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, after the presenter brought up claims made earlier by officials in Kherson, according to which, information about pro-Ukrainian activists, veterans who had fought in the Donbass, as well as journalists living in the city had been leaked to Russian forces.

Kim, in turn, cited the recent killing of a pro-Russian blogger in the city, who was shot dead on April 20, as proof that “Kherson is Ukraine,” and that “there are guerrilla fighters there.

Moreover, Kim warned that “traitors will be executed,” adding that he is “not afraid of this word.

The Ukrainian official expressed absolute certainty that “it will be like that.

In response, the presenter cited a top Ukrainian official who had previously warned that a special force had been established which would eliminating traitors.

Kim interjected, assuring the anchor that the secret unit was in fact already operating. The presenter, in turn, urged everyone listening to the broadcast to keep this fact in mind.

The governor also claimed that Ukraine had developed superior tech and IT capabilities which allowed its special services to track down practically anyone. Kim concluded that “no one will be able to hide from justice.
He didn't provide any evidence to back up his assertion.

Ukrainian drones shot down in Russia – governor

The incident reportedly occurred in a region bordering Ukraine on Monday morning

Apr. 25, 2022

A pair of Ukrainian drones were destroyed in Russia’s Kursk Region, which borders Ukraine from the northeast, the region’s governor has said.

Governor Roman Starovoyt wrote on social media that “Russian air defense troops shot down two Ukrainian drones” early Monday morning in the village of Borovskoye. He said no one was hurt in the incident.

“The terrorist alert in the region will be extended,” Starovoyt added later during a government meeting. The governor earlier said that mortar shells had hit a border crossing on Saturday, also with no casualties.

Also on Monday morning, a fire broke out at an oil depot in Bryansk, a city around 150km (93 miles) from the Ukrainian border. The cause of the fire is unclear.

On April 1, Russia accused Kiev of conducting a helicopter raid on an oil depot in Belgorod, another city in a region bordering Ukraine. Kiev has denied carrying out attacks on Russian territory.

US cancels key WW2 battle commemoration – Russia

The Russian Ambassador said the decision was made based “on the recommendation of the State Department”

Apr. 25, 2022

US authorities have canceled this year’s ceremony in memory of the historic meeting of Soviet and American soldiers on the Elbe in 1945, which takes place annually at Arlington Cemetery near Washington at the Spirit of the Elbe memorial, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov told the media.

“It was refused to hold such events. Purely formally [they were canceled by] Arlington Cemetery, but we were clearly told that [this happened based] on the recommendation of the State Department. We understand this reaction due to the Russophobia that is deployed today in the United States,” he said.

Russian diplomats, their counterparts from CIS countries, World War II veterans, and American officials previously laid wreaths at the memorial every year.

In 2020, then-US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin said in a joint statement that “the ‘Spirit of the Elbe’ is an example of how our countries can put aside differences, build trust, and cooperate in pursuit of a greater cause.”

The meeting of Soviet and American troops near the city of Torgau on the Elbe took place on April 25, 1945. The event became symbolic of the joint effort of the Allies in the victory over Nazism.

A memorial plaque
depicting Soviet and American soldiers shaking hands on the Elbe Bridge was installed at Arlington Cemetery in April 1995 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the event.

Cannes opener renamed after Ukraine’s protest

Zombie film ‘Z’ renamed for resemblance to Russian military symbol

Apr. 25, 2022

French film director Michel Hazanavicius announced on Monday that he had renamed his zombie comedy ‘Z’, which is set to premiere during opening night at the Cannes festival next month. This follows a letter sent earlier to the festival and filmmaker by the Ukrainian Film Institute.

The director said that the film – a remake of a Japanese zombie comedy – would be retitled ‘Coupé’ in France, while its international title, ‘Final Cut’, remains the same.

The Ukrainian Film Institute had complained about the film’s title in a letter to Cannes, quoted by Vanity Fair on Friday, arguing that the letter ‘Z’ had become a symbol of the Russian military in Ukraine. The letter, along with the letter ‘V’, is painted on tanks and other vehicles, and some European countries, such as Germany, Lithuania, and Latvia, have actually gone so far as to ban public displays of the letter.

My film is meant to bring joy and I wouldn’t want it to be associated in any way shape or form to this war,” Hazanavicius told Variety, insisting he was “happy” to change the title and “through this modest gesture show my full support to the Ukrainian people.”

The filmmaker had initially said it was “too late” to change the title for ‘Z’s’ French release, which comes in less than two weeks, and noted the name was “all over the marketing material and also in the credits.”

Ukrainian filmmakers have also excoriated Cannes over its decision to show Russian filmmaker Kirill Serebrennikov’s film ‘Tchaikovsky’s Wife,’ lamenting that it was partially funded by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.

Filmmakers from Ukraine reportedly feel they have a duty to show up despite what the Ukrainian Film Institute’s Natalie Movshovych called “mixed feelings” over the festival’s refusal to prohibit Russian entries, she told Variety.

Cannes has stated that they won’t welcome anyone linked to the Russian government,” Moshovych acknowledged before suggesting it wasn’t enough. “All we are asking for is to postpone the premieres of these [Russian] films until Russia leaves our country and finally takes responsibility for everything they have done…

Russian art, film, and music – and the creators, both living and deceased, of this cultural heritage – have been exiled from Western showcases and competitions as countries fall in line behind an unofficial ostracization campaign in addition to official Western sanctions. Even Russian-bred cats have felt the sharp sting of Western outrage.

Nevertheless, Cannes has declined to shut out all Russian filmmakers.

Lavrov: NATO Expansion Means Development of Territories Under US Command

Apr. 25, 2022

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that NATO expansion has nothing to do with the fulfillment of statutory goals, it is the development of territories under the command of the United States in line with strengthening the unipolar world.

"Of course, when they accepted Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, how can they strengthen the security of the North Atlantic alliance, if it is a defensive alliance? This simply shows that NATO expansion has nothing to do with the fulfillment of its statutory goals, that this is the development of territories under the US command in line with strengthening and attempting to perpetuate that same unipolar world,"
the minister said on the air of the Bolshaya Igra ("Big Game") show on Channel One.

Lavrov recalled that Russia had warned against drawing Ukraine into NATO, but negotiations on security guarantees clearly proved that NATO and the United States showed no desire to take into account Russia's legitimate interests.

"Negotiations that then took place between our delegations and the United States, then I met with [US Secretary of State Antony] Blinken, and then our team went to NATO, where they presented the treaty already in the 'NATO' context, in the context of Russia-NATO, they showed that none of them had any desire to take into account our legitimate interests, our security interests," the minister said on the air of the Bolshaya Igra ("Big Game") show on Channel One.

"They [Western countries] are making it clear that we can't decide what is necessary for our security. They will also now move the line of defense of their 'defensive alliance' to the South China Sea," Lavrov said in an interview on Channel One.

He noted that Western countries are openly declaring that they should be in control of the situation in the world and NATO has every right to pursue its policy everywhere.

"And as before, many of us are convinced that the real position of Ukraine is determined in Washington, London and other Western capitals. And therefore, our political scientists say, why talk with the Zelensky team — you need to talk with the Americans, and you need to negotiate with them, and achieve some kind of agreement. But we still continue to negotiate with the team that Zelensky nominated, these contacts will continue," the diplomat added.

"For reasons well known, the United States withdrew from virtually all contacts due to the fact that we were forced to stand up for the Russians in Ukraine, who were bombed for eight years without any reaction from the West, except for encouragement of the Russophobic and neo-Nazi actions of the Kiev regime," the diplomat added.

Western Russophobia, Racism Toward Everything Russian Cultivated at Highest Level

"Especially now, when Russophobia and real racism toward all Russians is being cultivated at the highest level," the minister said on air.

"As recently said, if we take the neighbor of the United States — Canada, Mr. Trudeau, the prime minister, said that it was necessary to punish [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and all those who support him, and added that not only Russia, but all Russians will pay for what is happening, just like that," Lavrov added.

Situation on Ground, Outlines of Peaceful Settlement With Kiev Clearly Linked - Lavrov

"As for the connection between the situation on the ground and the outlines of a hypothetical or, say, eventual peaceful settlement, of course, such a connection exists. And as we emphasized from the very beginning in the statement that Putin made announcing this special operation, we, of course, before all want is for the Ukrainian people to be able to decide for themselves how to live on," the foreign minister said.

"As in any situation when armed forces are used, of course, everything will end with a treaty, but the parameters of this treaty will be determined by the stage of hostilities at which this treaty will become a reality," he stated.

"I very much hope that - as everyone does the spell that we should by no means allow a third world war - that it is in this context that they consider the constant provocations of Zelensky and his team, who demand almost the deployment of NATO troops to protect the Ukrainian authorities," Lavrov said in an interview with Channel One.

The Russian Foreign Minister noted that many Western countries say they will provide weapons, which adds fuel to the fire, and they want to force Ukrainians to fight with Russia to the last soldier with these arms supplies. However, such actions contribute to the conflict dragging on longer in the hope that Russia will suffer more. Lavrov also said that the leaders of the Western countries, with the exception of Poland, all declare that the issue of sending NATO troops to Ukraine is excluded.

West Hopes to Cause Real Damage to Russia Via Zelensky

"They want to really try to make it so that 'what if he succeeds,'" the minister said adding that "sane people understand everything."

However, there are those who believe: "what if Zelensky manages to inflict some irreparable damage on the Russians and defeat them on the battlefield, when the Russians will have to ask for mercy and agree to much less favorable terms than they expected."

"I emphasize once again: we have a feeling that the West wants Ukraine to continue to fight, to continue, as it seems to them, to wear out, exhaust the Russian army and the Russian military-industrial complex — this is an illusion," the minister said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Ukraine after the request of the Donbas republics for military assistance. President Putinsaid that the military operation was a forced measure due to the Ukrainian aggression against Donbas and the proximity of NATO forces to the Russian border.

In late 2021, Russia published its security suggestions for NATO and the US as tensions rose around Ukraine. Moscow specifically requested guarantees that the alliance would not expand eastward to include Ukraine and Georgia and would not establish military bases in post-Soviet countries. The proposals on security guarantees were rejected out of hand, and in response to non-expansion of NATO, with Washington insisting it will not allow anyone to slam NATO's open-door policy shut.

Kiev Imitates Negotiations, Zelensky Often Contradicts Himself - Russian FM

Apr. 25, 2022

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Kiev imitates negotiations, while Volodymyr Zelensky, being an actor, plays, often contradicting himself, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"They are imitating negotiations," the minister said on the air of the Bolshaya Igra ("Big Game") show on Channel One.

"What the West perceives as Zelensky’s talented presentation of his interests and approaches is such a specific thing. If you look not at the external manifestations of his talents — he is a good actor, and plus there are funny things in external manifestations that show in what state he sometimes is, — but if you look closely and read the essence of what he says, you will find a thousand contradictions there," Lavrov added.

Russia Still Received No Response From Ukraine to Latest Proposals on Treaty

"A week ago, after another video conference contact, we handed them another updated version of the treaty, which already took into account their subsequent comments, as is usually the case, and now we are waiting for a week," the foreign minister said.

Lavrov noted that when the Russian side, after Volodymyr Zelensky’s words that he had not seen Russia's proposal, asked the Ukrainian negotiators how it happened, they answered: "Yes, he didn’t have time, for a very long time."

"This once again shows how he [Zelensky] himself relates to the negotiations when he pathetically declares that he always prefers peace," the minister added.

I read this session recently and had a few thoughts:

Q: (L) Okay, there is something I want to ask. You made the remark last session about 40 days between then and Trump's inauguration, including that we should expect shocking things or stuff that would give us chills up our spine. Rock and roll, and so forth... A number of people have complained that there was nothing so dramatically shocking.

(Galatea) Yeah, you guys are all talk and no show! [laughter]

(L) Well, I find that to be a little bit naive because there were some extremely shocking things. For me, the most shocking thing was for the intelligence services to come right out and DIRECTLY, in PUBLIC, frontally attack a president-elect before his inauguration with that dodgy dossier about the Russian hotel. I mean, those things are like evidence of something very deep and very ugly that is now emerging into plain view: the evil that has stayed in the shadows doesn’t fear exposure anymore. THAT gave me chills! It's like there is open warfare in the halls of the psychopaths and they don’t care who sees it or knows it because they are convinced that the programming of the public is complete.

A: Yes. Implications are serious and dramatic beyond what is immediately apparent. From our perspective, the import is indeed chilling. Watch how it all plays out. The irresistible force has met the immovable object. Who is more clever?

I'm seeing a progression. 2014 was Year Zero, marked by the Ukraine explosion of Maidan. This marked a time - perhaps the first time - when the psychopaths really came out into the open. And, as stated above with Trump's election, 'something very deep and very ugly' emerged into plain view. This would be the second such instance.

However, when they spoke about the irresistible force and the immovable object, they weren't speaking about Trump vs. the Deep State. What they were speaking about was 'beyond what is immediately apparent'.

From a subsequent session:

(Pierre) I have a few questions. In one of the last sessions, it was mentioned an "irresistible force" and an "immovable object", remember? What was the irresistible force, and what was the immovable object?

A: Deep State vs. Russia

So these are steps in the timeline, the progression of the Days of our Lord, Year Zero. We can add Covid to this Year Zero timeline, too - and the Special Operation. Somehow the Year Zero designation helps me to organize it all in my mind and place things in somewhat of a sequence. It acts as a mental marker that something truly massive is moving, and change can happen at a speed and scale that I'm not accustomed to considering.

In 2017 - the date of these sessions - we were also given a hint about the American plans for the EU. This opened up my eyes a bit, too.

A: US wishes to destabilize EU similar to Syria so that they can come in and "fix" things. i.e. rule and control resources and trade the "American way". Everyone will speak English!

Q: [laughter] (Pierre) They sure have a sense of humor, but I'm not sure that will be the only consequence...

(L) So basically, some kind of cabal in the deep state of the US is at the bottom of some kind of One World Order plan to really basically bit by bit take the entire planet under its control. Is that it either overtly or covertly?

A: Covertly at present, but overtly eventually.

I'm not certain - can things get any more overt than they are now? How much more overt do things need to get, I wonder?

The White Helmets have allegedly landed in Ukraine, just like in Syria. So Syria was an operation, but also perhaps a training ground for information warfare tactics to be used elsewhere - and especially in Ukraine. That's a guess, but I get the sense there may be something to it. Might also explain the desert mercenaries flying in to 'defend Ukrainian babushkas' at the drop of a hat. So the White Helmets have landed, and they had their warm-up run in Syria. Are we truly going to see yet another emergence of something 'very deep and very ugly', such as a scaled-up false flag by the Ukrainians, using Weapons of Mass Destruction against their own in order to pin on Russia? Or is that all sound and fury signifying nothing? The Russians have been warning about it at length - in particular the biological weapons programs.

The C's warning about the 'Syria-like destabilization of the EU' was stated in the context of Macron's first stolen election. The destabilization was said to originate from his policies to introduce Migrants of Mass Destruction (MMDs).

Now we have Macron's second - most likely stolen - election. And his platform pledge to open the EU to something like 60 million Africans... while taxing the French people into poverty in order to try to change the weather. I think that will all go very well, no? Excellent policies by all accounts.

And then there's the EU economic suicide, which also fits the description that 'the US wants to destabilize EU so they can come in and fix things'. I can surmise that they want to 'fix' things in a very specific, transhumanist sort of way that looks a bit like slowly starving, freezing and strangling the populations, all the while singing them lullabies about sacred European values. This Year Zero is a crazy thing to watch.

The planned destabilization of the EU by the US - this can also explain the mass proliferation of small arms, and most likely, the migration of trained Ukrainian radicals into European countries.

Taking the Syria example - it was destabilized for sure - however, Russia intervened and altered the US plans.

Russia continues to be the immovable object today. The C's asked 'who is more clever'? It seems that this question of cleverness in the session is the deciding factor as to who will win - Russia or the Deep State. Looks like Russia is much more clever at this point, what with the incredible judo-move of the ruble-gas arrangement, an economy bristling with hypersonic weapons, and a close and seemingly mutually beneficial partnership with China...

Again, this Year Zero is a crazy thing to watch!

'NATO's pretext for entering Ukraine.'

White Helmets instructors deployed to Ukraine, Moscow claims

25 Apr, 2022
Kiev is plotting a false flag attack with weapons of mass destruction to frame Moscow, a senior Russian diplomat has alleged

To facilitate the allegedly looming false-flag attack, overseas “handlers” of the Kiev authorities have sent “instructors” of the notorious White Helmets group to Ukraine, Polyansky stated.

I can say that the curators of the Kiev regime are not very creative, so they are readying more or less the same scenario for Ukraine. The White Helmets instructors are already in Ukraine.

“What is the point of using them in Ukraine in an immediate vicinity of our border? We will get nothing that could not be achieved through conventional means,” he said.

Russia attacked its neighbor following Ukraine’s failure to implement the terms of the Minsk agreements, signed in 2014, and Moscow’s eventual recognition of the Donbass republics of Donetsk and Lugansk. The German and French brokered Minsk Protocols were designed to give the breakaway regions special status within the Ukrainian state.

The Kremlin has since demanded that Ukraine officially declare itself a neutral country that will never join the US-led NATO military bloc. Kiev insists the Russian offensive was completely unprovoked and has denied claims it was planning to retake the two republics by force.

It appears as if NATO is going in with more and more direct assistance with massive arms assistance, money and also personnel. It has been mentioned that perhaps something like 400 foreign mercenaries are trapped in Azovstal of which I think 50 was mentioned as being French.
On top of that France has apparently sent more special forces. The following is from Vanessa Beeley's Telegram account:
[Forwarded from GALLIA DAILY | Voice of France]
🇫🇷🇺🇦 FRENCH SPECIAL FORCES IN UKRAINE ?

👉🏻 According to exclusive information obtained by sources close to Gallia Daily, it is highly likely that French special forces have been deployed to Ukraine.

__

🔎 Earlier this month, two platoons of the 13th Parachute Dragon Regiment (13RDP) were deployed to an unknown destination for a 2-4 month renewable mandate.

ℹ️ The 13RDP is the intelligence regiment of the French special forces. It is specialised in unconventional warfare, strike guidance (JTAC), sabotage, the use of optical reconnaissance means (blackhornet drones, cameras) as well as HIV capture.

➡️ Several reports seem to indicate that these men were deployed to Ukraine:

↪️ The men left equipped with their warm CCE military uniforms (forest camouflage) whereas currently all French operations take place in desert or tropical areas

↪️ The group leaving seems to be deliberately made up of JTAC personnel (trained to guide strikes, notably with CESAR guns, which France has just delivered to Ukraine...) while usually most platoons or sticks deployed in Africa are made of CTLO operators.

↪️ All the personnel of the group seem to hold the Instructor CATI certificate for the MILAN and the AT-4 (two French anti-tank weapons, delivered to Ukraine.

↪️ The personnel left on a military flight to a NATO country, before being deployed to their final destination by land vehicle... while most french military deployments actually occur using regular Air France flights.

__

📌 All these elements appear to be unique to the Ukrainian theater, since the only other place that would fit would be Romania or Estonia, but to date we have not heard of any deployment of the 13RDP there.

📌 According to these elements, it is therefore highly likely that 13RDP personel are deployed in Lviv or near the Polish border to provide training to the Ukrainian army.

⚠️ This information has not been confirmed (nor denied) by our contact at the Ministry of the Armed Forces (MinArm). In case of a statement from the MinArm, we will edit our post.
A platoon is about 50 men, though it varies from country to country and also what part of the army like infantry or mechanized etc.

The C’s told us in a previous session that the war in Ukraine will eventually cross other frontier, spill over other country. Moldova seem to be one country prepare by the west to open another front.

Transnistria Awaiting War
Illustrative Image: U.S. Marines and Moldovan soldiers conduct an Anti-Armor training in Balti, Moldova
A series of terrorist attacks has hit the region of Transnistria, officially known as the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR), which borders Ukraine. Transnistrian President Vadim Krasnoselsky placed the region on terrorist alert on April 26. President Sandu called an emergency meeting of the Security Council.
Two explosions rocked a broadcasting center in the village of Mayak on April 26, the region’s Interior Ministry claimed. It was reported that no one was hurt, but the two largest antennas, which were transmitting Russian radio stations, were disabled.
On April 25, the building of the State Security Ministry in the region’s capital, Tiraspol, was shelled with rocket-propelled grenades. No casualties were reported.
The third attack hit a military unit near the village of Parkany. No details on the incident were revealed.
The decision has been made to introduce the “red” level of terrorist danger in the country for 15 days, which provides the adoption of additional security measures.
The Transnistrian region has been in a state of frozen conflict for decades. The PMR declared its separation from Moldova in 1990. Until 1992 there were fighting, which ended with the signing of the agreement “On the principles of the settlement of the armed conflict in the Pridnestrovian region of the Republic of Moldova”. Since the end of the active phase of the Transnistrian conflict, which began during the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russian peacekeeping forces have been deployed in the republic.

Transnistria borders Ukraine, where the Russian special military operation continues.
On the one hand, the Russian assault operation in Odessa has not begun yet. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are also yet to gain any significant successes of in the Nikolaev region. On the other hand, the Sandu government in Moldova, with the active influence of Romania and Poland, demonstrates that it is ready to consider a military scenario for resolving the Transnistrian issue.
Last week, there were reports of the redeployment of large units of the Polish army to Romania for subsequent joint activities, such as exercises on the territory of Moldova. Russian sources reported that the Polish Armed Forces started to establish a strike group on the territory of Romania. The list and composition of specific units being moved to Romania is not revealed. The total contingent is estimated at up to 8,000 servicemen. In the near future, a consolidated contingent is planned to enter Moldovan territory under a plausible pretext, such as a humanitarian operation or an official government request.
One of the development options of the Polish leadership’s plan is to create an advanced bridgehead on the territory of Moldova to promptly take control of Transnistria and deploy a “peacekeeping contingent” on the territory of the Odessa region. For its part, the Odessa command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is ready to support a possible Moldovan-Polish-Romanian invasion of Transnistria under the guise of a humanitarian operation. This will cause huge reputational damage to the Russian Federation and will also divert Russian forces from other front lines, for example, from the Mykolaiv direction. The grouping of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Nikolaev-Krivoy Rog areas does not exceed 30,000 servicemen.
The number of the Operational Group of Russian troops in Transnistria is up to 1,700 servicemen, now it is more likely about 1,300. The Armed Forces of Transnistria count up to 7,500, while the Armed Forces of Moldova count up to 5,200 servicemen with a reserve of 60,000 people. The number of Romanian Armed Forces is up to 70,000.
A joint group of 22,000 – 25,000 Polish-Romanian-Moldovan soldiers would be enough to carry out such an operation in the region. In the event of a conflict, the main combat work will fall on the Romanian and Polish assault units. It is estimated that 6,000 Romanian and 3,000 Polish troops of the rapid reaction forces would be enough.
Military clashes of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the Armed Forces of Poland and Romania on the territory of a non-member state of NATO is the perfect scenario for Kiev and Washington. In case of the opening of another front in the neighboring country, the AFU counter offensive should be expected in the south of Ukraine with active defense in the East.
This is the main scenario in the region which also follows the ongoing international political developments. The preparation and composition of the sixth package of EU sanctions are associated with the upcoming events in Transnistria.
The expected timing of the scenario is from May 12 to May 25, 2022, or from June 15 to June 25, depending on the actions and successes of the Russian Federation in the Donbass region.

Thus, in the Transnistria, the situation is escalating:
  • “the Russian peacekeeping forces are monitoring the situation in the Security Zone”, i.e. demilitarized zone of separation of the armed forces of Moldova and the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, claimed the Co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission.
  • The Victory Day Parade on May 9 in Transnistria has been canceled. Only the flower-laying ceremony will take place.
  • educational institutions in the capital will operate remotely until the end of the academic year.
  • Security measures on the borders have been increased, including the enhanced document verification regime.
  • Roadblocks will be set up at the entrance to the cities of Transnistria. The inspection of vehicles and citizens during the daytime will be selective, at night control measures will affect everyone entering the localities. The law enforcement agencies have been transferred to an enhanced duty regime.
In Moldova, the situation is not calm neither. There are signs of the upcoming military operations.
Sandu called an emergency meeting of the Supreme Security Council. This body does not have real power, but is a cover for the legal formalization of decisions taken by political actors.
The Information and Security Service has called everyone to calm down, what is already a dangerous sign.
Moldova, in fact, is under external control no less than Ukraine. At the same time, the majority of the population of the republic does not support the beginning of hostilities in Transnistria.
Also, the Armed Forces of Moldova do not have necessary power. Therefore, an attack is possible only by the forces of Polish-Romanian units on the one hand and the AFU from Odessa on the other.
A new hotspot of the war can significantly change the nature and scale of the conflict in Eastern Europe. The escalation of the situation in Transnistria corresponds to Washington’s vision and statements that the United States is changing course towards Russia, from the desire to exhaust Moscow economically to a direct and complete military victory over the Russians on the battlefield. This was recently announced by Washington after a meeting with Zelensky in Kiev.

An interesting article, although with some bias, from Politico:

Skuratovsky had a message for the United States and other NATO countries: “I would like to tell them that grenade launchers are good, but against airstrikes and heavy artillery we will not be able to hold out for long. People can no longer endure daily bombardments. We need air support now. We need drones.”

Heavy weaponry pours into Ukraine as commanders become more desperate

Russian forces are attempting a pincer movement on Ukrainian forces in the Donbas. Will Western artillery, tanks and drones get there in time?

Western countries are rushing heavy weaponry to Ukraine as the war enters what promises to be a deadly, and potentially protracted, new phase.

Those deliveries are coming amid increasingly desperate pleas from Ukrainian battlefield commanders as they endure withering Russian artillery and rocket fire that could last weeks or months.

Over the past two weeks, the Biden administration began shipping out $1.2 billion worth of howitzers, around 200,000 artillery rounds, armored vehicles, counter-battery radars and experimental new armed drones capable of flying into targets. The deliveries are a significant advance from the small arms and Javelin anti-tank armor shipments that dominated the first eight weeks of fighting, and which helped stave off Russian thrusts toward the capital of Kyiv in the early days of the invasion.

On Friday, France and Canada unveiled new plans to send long-range artillery systems for the first time, and the U.K. is looking to backfill heavy armor to Poland as Warsaw contemplates sending Polish tanks to Ukraine.

On Sunday, during a surprise trip to Kyiv by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the U.S. announced more than $300 million in foreign military financing to allow Ukraine to purchase more sophisticated weapons, along with an additional $165 million for ammunition.

The rapid shift in aid reflects the recognition that the new fight will likely be dominated by artillery barrages and tank battles as infantry units square off over the flat fields of eastern Ukraine. But getting these new weapons to the front quickly will prove critical in the coming days.

As the war changes its character, a wave of Russian steel has been taking aim at Ukrainian units holding the line north of the besieged city of Mariupol, where a few hundred troops continue to make a last desperate stand on the grounds of the Azovstal steel plant.

Eighty miles north of the city, First Lt. Ivan Skuratovsky, serving in the 25th Airborne Brigade, told POLITICO that help needs to come immediately.

“The situation is very bad, [Russian forces] are using scorched- earth tactics,” the 31-year-old married father of two said via text. “They simply destroy everything with artillery, shelling day and night,” he said via text.

He fears that if reinforcements in the form of manpower and heavy weaponry — particularly air support — don’t arrive in the next few days, his troops could find themselves in the same position as those in Mariupol.

Skuratovsky described his soldiers’ situation as “very desperate.”

“I don’t know how much strength we will have,” he said, adding that the troops under his command around the city of Avdiivka, near Donetsk, have gone without rest since the start of the war. At least 13 of them have been wounded in recent weeks, he said, and they are running dangerously low on ammunition, reduced to rationing bullets.

The day before, he told POLITICO his soldiers were being bombarded with Russian howitzers, mortars and multiple-launch rocket systems “at the same time.” Just hours earlier, he said, they had been attacked by two Su-25 warplanes, “and our day became hell.”

Skuratovsky had a message for the United States and other NATO countries: “I would like to tell them that grenade launchers are good, but against airstrikes and heavy artillery we will not be able to hold out for long. People can no longer endure daily bombardments. We need air support now. We need drones.”
Caught in a pincer

The lieutenant’s pleas match those of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has for weeks demanded that Western countries step up their support as this new phase of the Russian war gets underway. The calls come as the Kremlin struggles to switch tactics from small unit attacks in the north in favor of devastating artillery barrages aimed at flattening towns and Ukrainian positions, unconcerned with — or perhaps purposefully looking for — civilian casualties.

The message is getting through to Western leaders, albeit slowly.

Ukrainian officials have been calling for heavy weapons and jet fighters since the Feb. 24 Russian invasion, but the Kremlin’s decision to pull its troops from around the capital of Kyiv and make one concerted push in the east and south has clearly caught the attention of Western powers.

In a major reversal following Chancellor Olaf Scholz only days ago voicing strong resistance, it appears Berlin has bowed to the mounting pressure among allies and approved new tank deliveries to Ukraine from Germany's own stock, which Scholz had previously said was depleted.

The German Ministry of Defense announced Tuesday that delivery of Gepard anti-aircraft tanks to Ukraine has been approved. As part of Scholz's earlier rejection of sending heavy weapons systems, he had cited the potential for the West and Russia sliding into a WW3 and nuclear war scenario.

The C’s told us in a previous session that the war in Ukraine will eventually cross other frontier, spill over other country. Moldova seem to be one country prepare by the west to open another front.

The introduction of Transnistria in the game is really important for Ukraine, because Russian troops captured the city of Balakleya, where most of the Ukrainian shells were stored (in 2017 there were 138 thousand tons of ammunition, and NATO shells are not suitable for Soviet Ukrainian weapons). In Transnistria, just 2 km from the Ukrainian border, there is the village of Cobasna, where 20-25 thousand tons of ammunition are stored.

There are emerging reports that Russia has halted natural gas deliveries to Poland, albeit it initially remains unconfirmed by the Russian government at this point.

By the sounds of it, Gazprom is implementing the new Ruble payment system towards unfriendly nations in May. The Polish gov. has said they will not pay for gas in Rubles:

Warsaw will not agree to Moscow’s demand to pay for gas in rubles, Piotr Naimski, representative of the Polish government on strategic energy infrastructure, said on Tuesday, according to media reports.

“We will not pay,” he said, answering a question from journalists about whether Poland would agree to Russia’s new payment terms.

“All the opportunities and risks are being considered. We are ready for them,” he said, adding, “If necessary, and if an appropriate decision is made, we are in a position to refuse gas supplies at any time. We are ready for the actions of the Russian side, which provide for the possibility of stopping supplies.”

Poland has been calling for “crushing sanctions” against Moscow, “much stronger than those that have been imposed.”

...and so claims that the gas has been shut off even though it apparently has not:

Gazprom denies stoppage of gas supplies to Poland

A Polish media report claims Russia had stopped deliveries to the country

Apr. 26, 2022

Russian energy giant Gazprom said on Tuesday that natural gas deliveries to Poland via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline have not been halted. The statement comes in response to media reports of a stoppage of supplies to the country.

The announcement was made by Gazprom’s official representative, Sergey Kupriyanov, who also told reporters: “today, Poland is obliged to pay for gas supplies in accordance with the new payment procedure.”

Earlier, Warsaw rejected Russia’s ultimatum for “unfriendly countries” to pay for gas imports in rubles.

Polish news portal Onet reported on Tuesday, citing sources within the Polish government and state energy company PGNiG, that Moscow had suspended natural gas deliveries to the country under the Yamal contract. According to the publication, a crisis group has been set up in the Ministry of Climate Affairs.

The spin is that 'it's Russia's fault', of course, and it makes it sound like the Russians are cutting off the gas in retaliation to the Polish sanctions. It would all go away if the Polish bureaucrats were just nicer to Russia. They then would probably be allowed to pay in Zloty. But: 'Yeah. Right.'

STRIKES ON UKRAINIAN RAILWAYS THREATEN MILITARY SUPPLIES TO ARMED FORCES

Strikes On Ukrainian Railways Threaten Military Supplies To Armed Forces

On April 26th, the Russian cruise missile hit a railway bridge over the Dniester River in the village of Zatoka in the Odessa region.
As a result of the strike, the railway track was damaged.
This is the only bridge that connects Odessa with the western part of the region and Romania. The destruction of the bridge will significantly complicate any transfer of weapons from Europe to Ukraine, as well as a possible advance of foreign troops in the region.

Strikes On Ukrainian Railways Threaten Military Supplies To Armed Forces

On April 25, 5 Ukrainian railway junctions were simultaneously hit by Russian missiles.
Russian high-precision missiles hit reportedly hit eight railway substations in Western Ukraine. As a result, railway facilities in the Krasnoe, Zdolbunov, Zhmerinka, Berdichev, Kovel, Korosten, Kazatin and Fastov were destroyed.

The blows were inflicted on substations, without which electric trains cannot move. Railway communication in Western part of Ukraine was paralyzed. About 2 dozen passenger trains were delayed. By lunchtime the Ukrainian Railways services reported that they had managed to localize the problem. However, freight traffic was still stopped.
The vast majority of transportation in Ukraine is carried out by electric traction. As of 2020, there were more than 1,600 electric locomotives in Ukraine, and only 300 diesel locomotives.
Today, the bulk of military transportation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is carried out by rail, which is much faster and cheaper than mobile transport, especially given the shortage of diesel fuel throughout the country.
Paralyzing the Ukrainian railway transport, the Russian military command achieves the main task to paralyze the strategic transfer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is extremely important given the escalation in the Donbas and in the south of Ukraine.
If the strikes on electrical substations continue, 1,600 Ukrainian electric locomotives will not be able to move. They can only be replaced with the remaining 300 locomotives. At the same time, some part of the railway transport has already been taken out of service by Russian troops in the territories under their control, including in the Donbass, Kherson, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions.
Moreover, Kiev’s Western partners also cannot help with the supply of European trains, since the track gauge in Ukraine differs from the European one.
If Russian missiles continue to strike at substations of Ukrainian railways, this will be able to significantly reduce the supply of weapons and manpower to the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front line.

Pretty good summary of the situation from Gonzalo Lira on twitter:

Quick recap for those who haven't followed what's been going on in Ukraine but want to understand:

02/24: The Russians invaded from the south, south-east, east and north, in a lightning campaign.

The Russians invaded with 190K troops—against 250K combat troops from Ukraine.

1/
Gonzalo.jpg

-------------------------

The RF put 30K troops near Kiev—nowhere near enough to capture the city—but enough to pin down some 100K AFU defenders.

The RF also launched several axes of attack, with reinforcements on standby (including a famed 40km long tank column), to see where they might be needed.

2/

Gonzalo.jpg

--------------------------

Crucially—the Russian's blitz on several axes pre-empted an imminent UKRAINIAN blitzkrieg.

►The AFU had been about to invade the Donbas

This was the immediate motivation for Russia's invasion: To beat them to the punch and scuttle Ukraine's imminent invasion—which they did

3/

Gonzalo.jpg

--------------------------

Also, by attacking from the north and south, the Russians disrupted weapons supply chain from NATO.

Had the RF only attacked in the east to prevent the AFU invasion of Donbas, there would have been an open corridor for resupply from the West.

Threatening Kiev stopped that.

4/

--------------------------

So the main AFU army was left stranded in east Ukraine, with the rest of the Ukr. forces isolated and pinned down—with no easy resupply from the West

The RF then went about hitting AFU command/control and resupply links, further isolating and immobilizing Ukrainian forces.

5/

--------------------------

The Russians soon nominally controlled land the size of the UK in Ukraine—but it was a tenuous control.

The south of Ukraine was more fully in Russia's grip. The AFU around Kherson simply scattered. Mariupol became a clear battleground, as did the Donbas proper.

6/

--------------------------

What the Russians initially wanted was to:

►Short-circuit the imminent Donbas invasion—which they did.

►Scare the Zelensky regime into negotiating a political settlement—which they failed to do.

7/

--------------------------

Kiev had no intention of negotiating a ceasefire—because of orders given to them from Washington: “Fight Russia to the last Ukrainian!”

Also, the Neo-Nazi goons around Zelensky threatened him if he negotiated and surrendered—because they are terrified of the Russians.

8/

-----------------

So Zelensky launched a massive PR and propaganda campaign, primarily to motivate AFU forces to fight to the death.

Myths were created (Ghost of Kiev), false flags were carried out (Bucha, Kramatorsk)—and relentless media stories were flogged relentlessly.

9/

--------------------------

The Russians kept negotiating—and trying to NOT destroy Ukraine infrastructure. In fact at first they were even trying to minimize AFU casualties.

The evidence for this is overwhelming: The RF did not hit civilian infrastructure—water, electric, phone, transportation.

10/

--------------------------

They did not hit AFU barracks, command centers, government buildings, etc.

The Russians' initial priority was for a *negotiated settlement*.

But by late March, they realized this was impossible.

11/

--------------------------

This is why the RF withdrew from Kiev. There was no sense putting men near the city when they were not doing what they were supposed to—putting political pressure on the Zelensky regime to negotiate.

This withdrawal was claimed as a “victory” in the “Battle of Kiev”! lmao

12/

--------------------------

Starting in late March, the Russians pulled back and solidified their control over the area they had captured, ceding to the AFU areas that were either pointless to or potentially too costly to control.

The Ukraine propaganda machine called all these pull-backs “victories”.

13/

--------------------------

There was still a glimmer that the war might end in a negotiated settlement—but that ended in early April.

After the Istanbul talks of 3/30, the Ukraine side gingerly agreed to some compromises—but within a week publicly disavowed those concessions.

14/

--------------------------

That's when the Russians realized the Zelensky regime was agreement-incapable: Their Washington masters—Victoria Nuland and Anthony Blinken in particular—wouldn't allow a peace.

They want this war to sap Russia dry. It is a classic proxy war—and Ukraine will pay the price.

15/

--------------------------

Something else the Russians realized: Sanctions.

They hurt—but Russia bounced back with remarkable speed. They didn't really hurt that bad.

But the theft of Russia's $300 billion in foreign reserves by the West DID hurt—badly.

16/

--------------------------

The Russians realized they were in a total war with the West—and since their foreign reserves were lost forever (likely to be pilfered by corrupt Western politicos), the Russians now have nothing left to lose.

By stealing their reserves, the West lost all power over Russia.

17/

--------------------------

This has sealed Ukraine's fate:

The Russians now have no incentive to give up what they have conquered. It has cost them too much—in terms of men and treasure.

And they know that they can't negotiate a ceasefire—the Zelensky regime will simply break it later.

Which means—

18/

--------------------------

The Russians intend to conquer and permanently annex all the south and east of Ukraine.

This is why their strategy on the battlefield has dramatically shifted: Now they are carrying out a slow, methodical grinding down and destruction of the AFU.

19/

--------------------------

The war in the first 30 days was speed—feints—nominally capturing vast swathes of Ukraine territory, with the aim of pressuring the Zelensky regime into a negotiated settlement.

But the West's total financial and political break with Russia means they have nothing to lose.

20/

--------------------------

And they have a lot to gain: The Donbas is mineral rich, the really productive farmlands of Ukraine are in the east and south, Kharkov is a major industrial city, the Sea of Azov has untold natural gas reserves.

And besides—the people love them.

21/
Gonzalo.jpg

--------------------------

Why would the Russians now give up this hard-won prize?

And they *have* won—make no mistake. Ask any military man who is not a system pig, he'll tell you: There is no way for the AFU to retake their country. They have no armor, no air defense, no fuel, no comms—it's over.

22/

Gonzalo.jpg

The great tragedy is that so many THOUSANDS of young men will die—and die NEEDLESSLY!!—in order to postpone the inevitable.

These brave boys will have fought so valiantly—and died so young, so cruelly—because of the evil of the Zelensky regime.

That's the hard truth.

23/
Gonzalo.jpg
--------------------------

And in the end, this will be the map that will remain—a bitter image of Ukraine's future.

Russia will pour billions into their newly acquired territory. It will prosper and flourish.

But the rump-state of Ukraine will be left poor, destroyed, forgotten—

A tragedy.
