Potential Food and Energy Shortage Across the World

Here it comes, the Digital dollar

"Monday 28th. That info was correct. Well, here it is!. Reps. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.), Jesús Chuy Garcia (D-Ill.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), all Democrats, have introduced the “Electronic Currency And Secure Hardware Act” (ECASH Act) that does far more than just creating a digital currency. This Act cleverly strips the Federal Reserve of its authority to create the money."

Conflict in Ukraine Sparks Massive Problems for One of World's Largest Seafood Exporters

Mar. 28, 2022

A combination of closed airspace, exorbitant fuel prices, and reduced export capacity amid an ongoing sanctions war have led to severe disruptions on the seafood market. This bodes ill for Norway, for which seafood is a major source of income trailing only oil and gas.

As an unexpected consequence, Russia's special operation in Ukraine and ensuing wave of sanctions and countersanctions have sparked massive problems for Norwegian seafood exports.

As the airspace over Russia is closed to European aircraft, the transport of goods to the lucrative Asian market must take a major detour south. Longer routes to reach delivery points force cargo planes to take on board much more fuel, which, in turn, means that they can carry less.

Getting fresh seafood, one of Norway's key exports trailing only oil and gas, to their important markets in Asia is a top priority for shipping companies. However, the detour coupled with the fact that Russian shipping companies are now unavailable have greatly reduced the capacity of the freight market.

"The dramatic situation affects the flow of seafood", Tom-Jørgen Gangsø, the director of market analysis at the Norwegian Seafood Council, told national broadcaster NRK. "There is still a lot of uncertainty in terms of how seafood will go in and out of Russia, which will also affect the competitive situation for Norwegian seafood".

This leads to challenges for the Norwegian seafood industry, as the huge Asian market is the most important for fresh and frozen seafood. Additionally, Russia itself is a major importer of shrimp, Atlantic salmon, and trout.

Since the Russian airline AirBridgeCargo is no longer allowed to pick up seafood at Oslo Airport with its jumbo jets due to a comprehensive ban, freight operator DB Schenker has calculated that the capacity for shipping to Asia has decreased by 40 to 50 percent, forcing prices to skyrocket.

According to DB Schenker communications manager Nils-Petter Buer, the use of southern routes alone to bypass Russian and Ukrainian airspace yields a delay of two hours per flight.

Fuel prices have also risen dramatically amid the conflict.

"We now see that fuel prices are at their highest since 2008. With a combination of a significant reduction in air freight capacity, it yields record-high prices for freight. This is how it will be in the future"
, Buer explained.

Yet another headache for Norwegian exports is that China, one of its main markets, is now hit by anti-pandemic measures and import bans.

"Shanghai, which is the largest import port and aviation hub in mainland China, is now closed for imports"
, DB Schenker air freight manager Morten Würgler concluded.

The fish and seafood industry is of paramount importance in Norway. With its vast coastline, the oblong country provides ample conditions for domestic fishing and aquaculture. In recent years, revenues generated by fisheries and processing industry have soared. In 2018, the fish and seafood industry reached its highest profit, amounting to approximately 6.5 billion euros ($7.15 billion). The fisheries and aquaculture industry is Norway's largest export industry after oil and gas, with products from captured and farmed fish exported to over 150 countries.

Russia launched its special military operation in Ukraine on 24 February, after an appeal from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, who have been suffering an eight-year-long war waged against them by Kiev. President Vladimir Putin stressed that Russia's goal was to protect the people of Donbass and that the op aims at the demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine.

Major late frost in France. It should last 3 days. Some regions already lost 100% of their harvest.

"Major disaster this morning. Important production basins were affected by the frost: the Bordeaux, Sauternes and Cognaçais vineyards. The arboreal regions of Dordogne, Garonne valley and Normandy. With losses (currently estimated) of up to 100%.

This is no joke and it will spread, especially in the West and those that align with the West/Nato against Russia and supporting countries.

From the Ice Age Farmer telegram channel:

And overnight, food prices are rising up to 50% in Germany. It’s happening fast:

“German retailer Aldi Nord will raise its prices by an average of 20-50% due to an increase in production costs, local media reported on Sunday. From Monday onwards, meat, sausage products, and butter will be "significantly more expensive," a company spokesman told German press agency DPA, adding that the price hikes in various products were necessary due to the rise in manufacturing costs.

I wonder for years now if those bird flu "things" are not generated by the forced vaccination on all cheptels... How convenient to kill them all and generate higher prices for those which remain and that large mid-poor or poor people will not be able to buy anymore, and then create starvation in population...

We live in an epidemic of epidemics, until the only epidemic that really "matters" comes along. Wherever you look, these are really interesting and momentous times!

Christian at Ice Age Farmer pointed out that PCR testing is used in the current bird flu "epidemic". We know from the COVID pandemic scam that the PCR test can be manipulated to give a positive result on pretty much anything. People were able to get a positive COVID result on fruit juice, for example.

Check this out; people are desperate and, of course, trust everything that is posted on social media :-(

Article in short:
...in recent weeks more and more Dutch motorists are driving without paying after filling up.

...Now, 350 to 370 motorists every week go without paying for fuel.

...Recently, a joke has been circulating on the Internet that it is better to walk away without paying for gas, because the fine of 131 euros is less than the price of filling a full car.

"The joke was really funny, but it wasn't told that you had to pay a fine of 131 euros plus the actual fuel cost," Hart said.
...

"The penalty for not paying for gas is only 131 euros, which is cheaper than gas"?

Due to the rapid rise in petrol and diesel prices, in recent weeks more and more Dutch motorists are driving without paying after filling up. This was confirmed by SODA, a foundation that tracks offenders at gas stations, NOS reported. The SODA Foundation has more than 500 gas stations and reports offenders to the police following an incident.

The penalty for not paying for gas is only 131 euros, which is cheaper than gas?

Now, 350 to 370 motorists every week go without paying for fuel. At the beginning of the year, there were still only about 300 cases per week, and the amount of unpaid gas is now even higher.

SODA's Lourens 't Hart told NOS: "I don't think it's an increase in crime, it's an increase in that sense of incompetence. People want to pay, but they can't."

However, police have yet to detect an increase in the number of reports. According to Hart, that's because gas stations typically wait a while before filing their declarations to make sure there's no misunderstanding.

"I expect this non-payment phenomenon will continue to increase with high oil prices in the near future," he said.

Recently, a joke has been circulating on the Internet that it is better to walk away without paying for gas, because the fine of 131 euros is less than the price of filling a full car.

"The joke was really funny, but it wasn't told that you had to pay a fine of 131 euros plus the actual fuel cost," Hart said.

Gas stations have invested in camera systems in recent years, increasing the chances of offenders being caught. SODA notes that it is more common these days for customers to point to their pockets at checkout to indicate they have no money to pay. They promise to check back later, but they don't always keep their promises.

Rosan Kreijne, a petrol station operator in the Amersfoort area, said: "Last week, a customer promised to come back to pay, but it didn't come back. They always make up their stories and make promises, but usually they don't. Will come back, even with passport or ID."

With current fuel prices, gas station owners have more to lose. "Gasoline has also become less profitable over the past week, so we have to fill up a lot of cars to compensate for the loss of a driver who got away," Klein said.

High gas prices have already led to more changes at gas stations. For example, this week raised fuel limits at unmanned gas stations.

Previously, motorists could add up to 125 euros, but this has now increased to 200 euros across the Netherlands.

20 Facts About The Emerging Global Food Shortage That Should Chill You To The Core
April 3, 2022

Some countries have started rationing. I found one of the most telling statements, as to how it may cause early panic, from the following Blackrock statement....Buck up folks, and hold your centers.

SNIP:
On Tuesday, BlackRock Inc. President Rob Kapito told an audience in Austin, Texas, hosted by the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association, that an entire younger generation is quickly finding out what it means to suffer from shortages, according to Bloomberg.

“For the first time, this generation is going to go into a store and not be able to get what they want,” Kapito said. “And we have a very entitled generation that has never had to sacrifice.”

I think we all agree there will be shortages from time to time, from country/area to country/area and probably it will be become worser due to many factors.

But this economic collapse person is too catastrophic on his articles osit and just reading this, I cannot trust him too much:

#4 Rationing has already begun in Spain
In Spain, the country started experiencing sporadic shortages of different products like eggs, milk and other dairy products almost immediately following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. In early March, major supermarkets like Mercadona and Makro began rationing sunflower oil.
According to my own experience in Spain, the sporadic shortages have been produced by a transport strike of almost 14 days.
If you did not have sunflower oil in major supermarkets like Mercadona, or Macro, or Simply, or Carrefour, or Eroski, etc, you could get it in small business (Chinese owned) a bit more expensive.

Even I read a tweet of some body saying sth like: "I am a worker from Mercadone. Our warehouse is full of products. Our boss has told us not to fill up the shelves to create the atmosphere of shortage and rise the prices".

This is Spain.

About the prices in Germany; i.e. in 2016. for ~100€ we brought home 3-4 big bags of food.

Today, my man spent 60€ and brought home 1 big bag of food.

So there you go… 😕

P.s. …and the salary is the same, of course…

I agree with your statement about keeping products and then selling them for double the price.
Lidl was rationing sunflower oil the weeks before. We have had empty shelves and now the bottle price has doubled (3,20€) for 1l, no restrictions anymore if you can pay the price!. For people here who like their fried food, cooking is going to be expensive, although we have olive oil 😉

"We're in trouble!" Lidl boss talks about shortages and rising prices.

The slogan of Lidl's advertising is "we are bad boss", and it has never been so adapted to the situation.

Indeed, the boss of Lidl France stores believes that the prices of some products will inevitably increase.

"Michel Biero, the French boss of the discount chain, gave an interview to our colleagues in Le Parisien on Sunday, April 3, in which he talks about the inflationary context and the changes to be expected in terms of prices and supplies.

His speech is in line with what Michel Edouard Leclerc said this Sunday on BFM. According to him, there is no risk of shortage. The boss of Lidl has also reacted to recommendations to ration its purchases of sunflower oil.

If he confirms that he has given the order to have posters recommending not to exceed a certain number of liters per person, he denies any risk of shortage. "Some consumers are stocking up", he explains to justify the absence of certain products on the shelves.

On the other hand, concerning the price of this product, Michel Berio is without appeal, it will increase. It has already increased since the liter went from 1.79 € to 2.10 € in three months, explains the boss of Lidl.

Between the bird flu and the fact that poultry feed depends a lot on Ukraine, the boss of Lidl fears on the other hand difficulties on products from poultry farming. Indeed, "the situation is tense", acknowledges Micel Berio, who wonders at this stage if there will be availability on certain products, especially if there will be enough ducks for Christmas 2022.

On the egg side, there are also some concerns, especially because the avian flu "is decimating five to ten farms a day in France".

Prices are bound to follow. On beef and pork, new increases should be felt from next week, with an average increase of 40 cents per kilo.

You will notice that there is no longer any question of the supermarket bosses talking about "negotiating" prices, or "preserving consumer purchasing power". We are talking about the two most aggressive bosses on price positioning, the Lidl and Leclerc chains.

If even they don't talk about controlling prices, it means that prices are going to explode and are already doing so, so obviously don't listen to the rest and the good idea of "don't stockpile". Store of course, it will be the best investment, especially for those who don't have much money. Buying today what you will consume tomorrow will not be a bad deal, except if you buy too much and have to throw it away afterwards.

So storage is like everything else, it must be done with nuance, wisdom and weight, starting by storing only what you consume!
