This certainly makes perfect sense and quite honestly I never gave it conscious thought until now. Bit of an eye opener!
 
In working on frustrations, I have found helpful the Buddhist belief that these frustrations arise from our own expectations of what people should be like, behave like, etc; and it is then our own set of expectations that are the source of this frustration, and these must be let go of to find the freedom from the frustration; so yes, life is the most solitary of journeys, and that makes finding true commonality with someone or a group that much more rare and precious. As Shakepeare said in the sonnet "To the meeting of true minds, let me admit no impediment.." And the truth sets us free.
