WikiLeaks releases 'entire hacking capacity of the CIA'

_http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/03/07/wikileaks-releases-entire-hacking-capacity-cia.html

WikiLeaks on Tuesday released what it said is the full hacking capacity of the CIA in a stunning 8,000-plus page disclosure the anti-secrecy website contends is “the largest ever publication of confidential documents on the agency.”

The 8,761 documents and files -- released as “Vault 7 Part 1” and titled “Year Zero” -- were obtained from an “isolated, high-security network” at the CIA’s Center for Cyber Intelligence in Langley, Va., a press release from the website said. The trove had been “circulated among former U.S. government hackers and contractors,” one of whom “recently” gave the archive to WikiLeaks. The CIA allegedly employs more than 5,000 people in its cyber spying operation and had produced more than 1,000 programs as of 2016.

“We do not comment on the authenticity or content of purported intelligence documents," a CIA spokesperson told Fox News.

The collection of purported intelligence documents includes information on CIA-developed malware -- bearing names such as “Assassin” and “Medusa” -- intended to target iPhones, Android phones, smart TVs and Microsoft, Mac and Linux operating systems, among others. An entire unit in the CIA is devoted to inventing programs to hack data from Apple products, according to WikiLeaks.

WIKILEAKS OFFERS REWARD FOR INFO ON OBAMA MISDEEDS

Some of the remote hacking programs can allegedly turn numerous electronic devices into recording and transmitting stations to spy on their targets, with the information then sent back to secret CIA servers. One document appears to show the CIA was trying to “infect” vehicle control systems in cars and trucks for unspecified means.

WikiLeaks hinted that the capabilites revealed in Tuesday's disclosure could have even darker utility than simply spying.

“It would permit the CIA to engage in nearly undetectable assassinations,” the release stated.

Can you hear me Now?

Always get-a-kick out of peoples reaction's when they ask for my phone #, and tell them i don't carry a smart phone. And in fact i would rather use my (God Given), instinct's for navigational purposes.

They always look, and get bewildered, by the prospect of such an idea.

Thanks for sharing!

The only issue I have with such leaks (OMG! They know everything!!) is that it may keep people from using their computers for something meaningful, i.e. spreading truth, connecting with other reasonable people etc.

I mean, those who are addicted to their smartphone chatting frenzies won't give it up because of this. On the other hand, those still on the fence about sharing truth and connecting with others may get scared away from it.

Personally, I try to find a balance between protecting my privacy and the realization that I'm completely powerless against those who truly want to spy on me. That means I want to conduct my life in the best way possible to not become a target ("nothing to hide"), while at the same time using popular social media and tools to get things done without too much fear (I used to be so scared that I missed many good opportunities for fruitful online activities).

It's good to know that these guys have these capabilities, but we shouldn't be scared into complacency by this IMO. Today's totalitarian state works by spreading FEAR, not by putting everyone in prison who disagrees with the mainstream. That isn't practical and the more people don't give a damn, the less practical it becomes.

So, let's keep up some balance... OSIT.

I think this is a very good perspective to have. Yeah, sure, "they" may be spying on you, but they're also spying on literally everyone else so it's not like there's an agenda against you personally or even the vast majority of people. They can't go through all of the data, because it's just not practical and we're not at the point where people are being locked up for speaking truth because that also isn't practical. It's far more effective to use these types of data 'leaks' to induce fear of spreading or speaking truth on the internet or even in person. That's a far more effective way of reaching the same result, which is silencing dissent and controlling thought. So the best course is to strike a balance between being a force for spreading truth and keeping yourself from becoming a target. In this way, we might inspire others to not be afraid of Big Brother, and make it that much more impractical for the Deep State to go about rounding people up and make their 'fear leaks' less and less effective.

My 2 cents.

The extent of WikiLeaks' latest exposure is surprising and shocking, Australian researcher David Glance told Radio Sputnik, suggesting that the leak has dealt a heavy blow to both the CIA's image and US national security. Meanwhile, WikiLeaks signals that it has released less than one percent of its damning Vault 7.
The extent to which WikiLeaks' Vault 7 leak has shed light on CIA hacking tools and practices is surprising and shocking, according to David Glance, a Director of the University of Western Australia's Centre for Software Practice.

Speaking to Radio Sputnik's Mark Hirst, Glance referred to WikiLeaks' notion that the leaked information could have been circulated among contractors and consultants within the service for some time.

Given this, the Australian researcher believes that the documents were handed to WikiLeaks by an "insider."

WikiLeaks "Vault7" = exposure of underground bases?

I just saw this and have only skimmed over it but thought it'd be good to start a discussion of the "clues", content and legitimacy of this "riddle" on Twitter--which was tweeted by WikiLeaks a month ago, before the recent data dump referring to "Vault7" and "Year Zero".

“What is Vault 7? Where is Vault 7? When is Vault 7?” These are the questions that Wikileaks has tweeted, along with two pictures of what seems like an underground facility, and the two remaining questions, why and who, is Vault 7 seem to have the internet going in a frenzy for what Vault 7 could possibly mean.

Not to muddy your offering, but I think to remember that Laura pointed out that PHIL SCHNEIDER was not a reliable source, (but correct me if i am wrong).

And that Richard Sauder had a more rounded perspective of said subject.

I realize that but what's most significant it seems is that WikiLeaks is hinting of leaking documentation of the elite's diversion of trillions into building underground bunkers. That would certainly light a fire under the elites who are behind the coup they're attempting.

Agreed. Imagine the the sums of money, and it is beyond trillions. The construction has been going a very long time. Yeah, non elected elite Psychopaths.

In this interview Steve Pieczenik recommends seeing the movie Zero Days which I just had a look at. One of the things that makes AJ hard to listen to is how he interrupts interesting guests so often.

A new film gives a frightening look at how the US used cyberwarfare to destroy nukes _https://www.businessinsider.com.au/zero-days-stuxnet-cyber-weapon-2016-7?r=US&IR=T

It was the world’s first cyber weapon, code-named “Olympic Games” and later called “Stuxnet” by computer security researchers.

A fascinating new documentary film by Alex Gibney called “Zero Days” that premieres on Friday tells the story of Stuxnet, along with the frightening takeaway that, while this was the first cyber weapon, it will certainly not be the last.

‘We’ve never seen this before’

Bits and pieces of the Stuxnet story are well-known by now.

First authorised by President Bush and then re-authorised by President Obama, the top secret computer worm was designed by the US and Israel to infect an Iranian nuclear enrichment facility at Natanz.

And it did. Too well.

The code made its way into the facility and infected the specific industrial control systems the Iranians were using. Once it turned itself on about 13 days after infection, it sped up or slowed down the centrifuges until they destroyed themselves — all while the operators’ computer screens showed everything was working as normal.

But at some point, the powerful computer code escaped and made its way out. It had an unheard number of zero-day exploits (four, to be precise), which are software vulnerabilities unknown to the target that has “zero days” to protect themselves. Making matters worse, its self-replicating behaviour ended up infecting computers around the world.

Though Iran initially had no idea it was attacked by a cyber weapon, believing its scientists and engineers were incompetent due to the failures, eventually the code escaped and worldwide infections led computer researchers to study it, and the idea of leaving “no trace” of the attacker was gone.

CIA has lost control of its cyber weapons

Ugh no kidding, he's so abrasive! He's also very stuck in his anti-leftist agenda when it should be clear that the "globalist" cabal/PTB running things involves actors from both parties. Pieczenik on the other had seems to get that.

Dr. Pieczenik is very interesting. I was struck by the exchange around 22:50: https://youtu.be/ggUGNNJvX7Q?t=22m50s where he discusses exposing and prosecuting the people involved including Feinstein, McCain, Marco Rubio, etc. In the other videos he discusses the Clintons and their pedophile ring. Full exposure, indictment and imprisonment of these people would be a real wakeup call for the general population! I really hope they fully expose them and clean house. That would really be something!

On the other hand they may be a bit premature (intentional understatement) in declaring victory at the end of the video, but time will tell I guess. One thing I think the Saker gets right is his assertion that the Neoliberalcons/PTB/globalists or whatever you want to call them always double down, so it will be interesting to see if they keep pushing back as Wikileaks leaks more data. Just because Alex Jones can't see a scenario where they can strike back doesn't mean that they can't.

If this Dr. Pieczenik is the real deal and there really is a group of ex-military and intelligence officers working to support Trump, even if they aren't coordinating with him directly this is an encouraging sign IMO.
