Wake up and write it down!

Have anyone had a dream, in which something ordered you to pay attention, listen to the message, wake up, write it down in order to not forget, and then get back to continue the same dream?

In my dream I was in a large mansion, in a big room with a wide view to the mountain scenery. In was night, and there was terrible storm. I found myself standing in front of a massive stone figure, a sculpture of some sort, but somehow it seemed alive. It's colour was black and brown, glowing faintly red in the chest area. It was higher than me, I actually had to look up, to see it's head. The only thing I could do was to stand there, frozen and listen to the voice, which repeated some words again and again, with powerful intention - "Listen and remember: God of Thunder, God of Storm, IRE TOPPA. Wake up, write it down - NOW!"

Initially, I tried to solve the puzzle, figure out the message, but I couldn't find anything which could give me a clue - why was it so important. I gave up, but the memory of that dream comes back again and again, so I think that I'd have to decipher it finally.

Norse Mythology is filled with stories of Thor, God of Thunder, god of common men and his adventures. This is surely a good lead. But.. I can't find out what "ire toppa" means. I tried to find it on the net, in different dictionaries, but it doesn't make sense. One can find some resembling words in some languages, but it just doesn't fit... hmm, like - one word can be found in one language, the second one in other language. Well..I never learned how to do such research, so - maybe someone could give me a clue, or advice. Fellow travellers, your comments are welcome.

IRE TOPPA?

So far I did not read a lot of dream threads, but then curiosity got the better of me, I began from the top and soon found one reader who said the threads did not make much sense to him. Having read a couple of dream translations I had to admit that there was much of the interpretations which I could not understand too. The remedy seemed to be to review from the beginning and not keep reading from the top, after all apparently the number of people who post their dreams or comment on those of others seem to be few, so if those who have followed through have developed some more understanding it is reasonable and should be respected.

Early on there was this dream above noted by jOda, but no comments.

First of all I have also had some similar experience as jOda, something in a dream urges one to not forget, to pay attention and remember or write it down upon waking. And then when one checks up on the important word or event it makes no usual sense.

So what is the point? I take it as a good lesson that one can not take everything that happens in a dream as hard science, there may be disinformation coming in, there may be guidance coming in, there may be nonsense coming in, one has to take it with a bag of salt.

But even if it makes no usual sense, sometimes it is inspiring, a seemingly silly dream can give ideas, just like if one walks around in an art museu. Playing on the message to jOda, "IRE TOPPA" , I re-topp his dream by making a short post.
WHY?

The words WAKE UP AND WRITE IT DOWN is a beginning, maybe not wake up immediately, but write the dreams down when you wake up. Even short notes will help, if they tend to evaporate like the morning dew. That is a possible beginning of work on dreams and who knows, maybe why jOda posted his thread in the beginning of this section of the forum.

So if there is a reader or two for whom the dream threads make no sense, but who is nevetheless interested, my question is do you have dreams do you write them down, because it won't help you to write a post saying it all makes no sense.

The problem with writing dreams down is that they soon could become so many, that one looses track of the interesting ones. Therefore if you like to write dreams down, I suggest to keep a separate book or list with those dreams that you felt were really significant or interesting, those that one some day you would like to visit and look at again.

Ire toppa can be arranged as:

A PORE TIP
A ROPE PIT
A ROPE TIP
A TROPE PI
A POET RIP
PIRATE OP
IRATE POP
OPERA PIT
OPERA TIP
ORATE PIP
RATIO PEP
IOTA PREP
PAIR POET
TAPIR OPE

It goes on and on, but i don't think it's the right road........!!!

Allthough the dream youve desribed I have had very similar with statue, house inscriptions and so on...interesting. My uncle told me to write my dreams down every day for a year. He promised it would sort things out for me in some way. Still havn't got round to it before. But I shall try to from tomorrow....

Dear thorbion

I would agree generally with your comments since i have followed a similar technique for me and it worked out generally okay.

I will add my ideas for the sake or argument. Maybe the Wake up, write it down NOW part refer to a awakening that has nothing to do with sleep. Maybe it is a push for him to seek a higher cause or a calling.....

On the ire toppa nothing comes to mind but it may belong to ancient language spoken in scandinavia as Thor and the other gods were worshipped all over scandinavia and not only.

nice post thorbion

when i first came here i worked on this dream for practice since i hadn't been paying attention to dreams for some years. it may not be much good (and i had to fish it out of the trash) but, here it is as notes:

maybe you have forgotten this dream by now? anyway here are some ideas.

translate here - (http://www.)tranexp.com:2000/Translate/result.shtml

- ire toppa = Irishman crown or Irish crown

picture of Irish crown - (http://)photos1.blogger.com/blogger/1717/1584/1600/Crown.jpg

Thorr was the god of storms, but also was Mankind's Warder, and his Hammer a mighty symbol of luck and protection.

The place of honour reserved in heaven for courageous heros of wars and battles was called Valhalla, an ancient name, Translated as *rock of slain*, Valhalla was also the magnificent, legendary palace of Odin, the master of all Norse Gods, God of war and the God of wisdom, from here , Odin surveyed the whole world, seeing everything, using his wisdom, Odin understood all he witnessed at each and every moment. Another Norse mountain spirit was the mighty Heimdall, a great and holy guardian who lived over the towering monolith of Himinborg, the mountain of heaven, he could see across vast distances and hear every human whisper.

some Mesopotamia stuff:

NINHURSAGA ("lady of the mountain") was the name given by Ninurta after his victory over the Kur to his mother Ninlil, who gave birth to him from his father Enlil, the powerful god of Nippur. Under the name Ninhursaga, she created the "black heads" (as the Sumerians called themselves) along with An and Enlil.

The goddess Ninhursaga is mainly active in heaven or on earth in the role of a nurse for those destined to be king, as in the case of Eannatum and others.

Ninhursaga has been connected with the theory of primitive matriarchy by some scholars.

Ninhursaga was the female deity manifest in the stony ground and the eastern and western boundaries of the land. As giver of births, Ninhursaga governed wildlife and gave birth to kings.

from memory:

i forget exactly how but, some have traced the lost tribes of Israel through to the Celts who are tied in with the Nordic peoples. something to do with the Stone of Scone? Laura probably has this covered somewhere? i haven't read all the literature yet.

the statue makes me think of some place in the Bible God says "I will take away your stoney heart and give you a heart of flesh."

learn how to do research - practice - especially i think we all need to learn better to discern what is good info and just junk (at least i know i do)

J0DA-Did the being in your dream pronounce the words or actually spell them out? In other words (no pun intended) did spell them phonetically the way they sounded to you?

I have typed in many different ways the words may have been pronounced as opposed to the spelling, trying to make a connection between God of Thunder and God of Storm, and any meaning at all-and have come up blank.

Your "God" being was certainly obscure-or having a bit of fun perhaps?

OutCydr-

As far as Ire Toppa being Irish Crown- Eire would be Ireland, but crown in Gaelic is croin-not toppa? I could not find the word toppa in the Gaelic language (either Irish or Scottish Gaelic)-could you tell me where you found that translation?

The Celtic god of Thunder is Taranis-I could not find any connection between the words Ire and Toppa-the only thing I got was the Choctaw word for bed=topah (Native American Choctaw tribe) which would not make sense.

How does the Baylonian / Sumerian stuff fit in with J0da's dream question-I could not come up with any parallels there?

I feel dreams are quite important-direct links to our "true" state of being-and I have been trying to determine how to interpret the information we receive-so far it has been quite frustrating.

The dream books are quite useless-I rarely have dreams that are so stereotypical (although the ones about being in school without my homework or unprepared for a test or naked in weird places crop up occasionally, which are supposed to be indicators of anxiety-no kidding!)

to answer tschai:

-could you tell me where you found that translation?

at the link i gave above - i think it was Norwegian

it's been a while since i did this, and as i said, it may just all be junk

How does the Baylonian / Sumerian stuff fit in

"...with a wide view to the mountain scenery."

the key words in that part could be black heads, stone, king(s)

I went to the links and could make no sense out of it-I cannot speak, read or write Norwegian so it would not in any event.

I guess I agree with Thorbiorn on this-if we are told to wake up and write it down it often comes to a lot of nonsense at least to our waking selves.

The message must have meant SOMETHING important to J0da that the being was so insistent he awake and write it down-but why would a being-other self bother with a message that is so ridiculous is beyond me.

Perhaps it was his other / future self using this as a way to get him (and us!) to work on those research skills-after all some of us did try to find an answer-and even if we did not find anything meaningful on this go it was still fun looking and using resources.

I looked at all different kind of websites and found lists of deities for virtually every culture which can be found here:

If anything readers can bookmark the site for a handy reference to Gods and Goddesses of various cultures. Enjoy!

In the past i had a 'project' going on which never really took off and some other personal situations have taken priority so it is all 'on ice' but it had to do with mythology and legends... (i will not provide the link of the website that was created and still exists as it may be taken as 'advertising' even if it is not commercial). Here are some links that i had collected then and all related to the scandinavian mythology.
