Merci d'avoir lu...

I just had a very bad day...
My little Gaby kitten of 9 years old came like a fury last night from the living room to my room with a big tail and didn't want me to see what happened, so she was meowing in pain ... Last night she came several times to lie on my bed but didn't want me to touch her...
This morning her mouth was slightly ajar and she was drooling... She did not eat or drink... So I phoned the vet who couldn't receive her with 4:15 pm and then another one at 11 am, which was better for me because of my handicap and for her, I was too sick at heart to see her like that, I managed to put her in her transport box, she was meowing, so I thought that her jaws were moving, that it was a good sign... Then I had to find a car and a driver to take me to the vet... Nobody was available in the "Home Help" service but the director offered to come with me, which was done... The vet diagnosed a dislocation of the jaws which explained that his mouth was not closing anymore... So she kept it and I went home with my soul dead... After an X-ray and a manipulation under anesthesia, the dislocation was put back in place but immediately jumped out, this vet then spoke to me about a fracture of the jaw... She took her to a dental specialist, quite far away, that I know, which saved me a new trip, I had the specialist on the phone at 2 pm, he recommended tooth extractions, given my handicap he offered to come and bring her back to my house tonight, there are still 800 euros, living with a small pension of 900 euros per month with a rent of 500 euros per month, I could not afford this expense so he accepted 8 checks of 100 euros per month ... I am waiting for his phone call...
I don't know yet how much will be the fee for the first vet, radio and anesthesia ...
It goes without saying that I'm completely turned around because I can't understand how this could have happened, Gaby was alone in the living room when it happened, incomprehensible, I don't know what happened but she came to tell me right away that there was something wrong?
I'll let you know tomorrow morning... Thank you for reading...

PERLOU, keep on to be brave, and hold on, give us news when you know more.

Good luck to you and your pretty Gaby PERLOU. What happened is still weird, I hope she will recover gently. It is indeed quite a budget to take care of our little friends and I hope that you will be able to get by financially.
You will be in my prayers.

Facture :
Consultation Stomatologie 80 euros
CBCT Maxillo-Facial ORL 295 euros
Anesthésie chirurgie 115 euros
Extraction chirurgicales multiples 355 euros
Mélosus 12.35 euros
Remise 57.35 euros
Total 800 euros

Thank you all for your kind messages that warm my heart...
I picked up my little Gaby around 8pm last night, I was exhausted...
I put her in the living room, alone, so that she could rest as much as possible, she easily got out of her transport box and hid... I put blankets on the floor to prevent her from jumping on her cat trees... I put some soft food and a bowl of water as well as a toilet in her room... She must have slept well because this morning the food had disappeared, she was moving very well her mouth was well closed... She went outside to get some fresh air and I put everything back in its place... She took a bowel movement and ate all the raw minced steak with her medicine Melosus to avoid having pain, it was a pleasure for me that she ate everything...

I got the report from the vet specialist, so she was anaesthetized, underwent a CT scan which revealed comminuted fractures without severe displacement in the right and left sub-orbitals at the level of the predatory organs - Alveolar expansion of the right and left maxillary canines with a focus of osteitis on the apex of the inferior canine (chin)
Conclusion : Non-complex comminuted fracture of the caudaux jaws associated with aggressive periodontitis.
Surgery: Scaling, Polishing and extraction of carnassial teeth right and left maxillary, M1 maxillary, maxillary and mandibular canines auche.
One-plane gingival sutures for covering the alveolar spaces (5.0, resorbable)
Post-operative: Prescription Meloxicam (in fact he gave me Melosus) and Convénia injection today.
Careful monitoring for one month
Comment: Good prognosis but dependent on monitoring of biting games during convalescence.

For me it's gibberish, I note that it's fractures and I will only give him soft food for a month although they still have kibble available .

She came to cuddle me and was purring this morning, now she sleeps on her armchair covered with blankets...

Thank you for your interest in Her and a thousand thanks for your prayers for Her...

No, I still didn't understand what could have happened, it's a kitten who jumps over the cupboards and comes down from them, she's very agile, I'm going to block the access above the cupboards but she's very filthy...

Hello PERLOU,
I'm sorry that you've been under so much stress, and we have to wait for the healing to happen again. You have received help but there is still a lot of money left.
Keep your courage for each day and keep a positive outlook on the situation whenever possible.
I embrace you in this upsetting moment.

Bonjour PERLOU,

Oh, PERLOU, how horrible that experience must have been. I am so sorry you had to go through that and endure the suffering while waiting to find out what had happened. It hurts us very much when our wonderful 2D companions have problems.

However, I'm very glad to see that she is doing better now. What a relief! Stay strong and, please, let us know how things develop.

A  to you. And, please give some little hugs to your adorable and beautiful companions for me.

I'm so glad that everything turned out well even though it's very strange what happened to her. Maybe she slipped and hit her jaw. Good luck for Gaby who must be so pampered now, like a princess. She deserves it. And you too, take care of yourself, so much stress is not good. But I know that now you must feel so reassured. And you have a good vet, human and emphatic.

I just read about what happened to Gaby, you were really happy in the end! I imagine your worries and anxiety in the face of so much uncertainty and setbacks until being finally able to take her to the vet and get his report. I also went through similar circumstances with some of my pets, I know how badly shocking it is.

Enjoy a good rest now both of you, which is certainly a bit complicated in the case of cats, given their independence that they keep so jealously under control.:-)

No, I still did not understand what could have happened,
Cats are such agile creatures, impossible to keep track of them. Well done Perlou, that was a nasty episode you had to deal with. The vets charges were alarmingly high but luckily you can pay monthly which is a bonus.
It goes without saying ,take go care of yourself and your pets will take care of each other. Big hug to you.
