The new James Bond film

The Living Force
just saw a trailer for the new 007 film, Casino Royale. the only lines of dialogue in the trailer:

Trophy Female: "doesn't it bother you, killing all those people?"
Bond: "I wouldn't be any good at my job if it did."

psychos 'r' us! :O and to think I used to like James Bond films...

Im guessing that the sentence was for comic-relief too. Yeah, I had a similar experience; I use to play alot of computergames and really liked it before, but now I reflect on the violence and just cant get any joy from it. Same with most action movies, always the question: why?

I had a very similar reaction to the trailer. In one review of Casino Royale it was mentioned that Bond is seen joining MI6. Gee, MI6. Aren't they the folks who are probably responsible for the London Subway bombings?? My next thought was - James Bond isn't out to save the world from some power crazed baddie - he is the power crazed baddie!

And in typically psychopathic fashion, he propagates his seed far and wide, using charm and allure to bed only beautiful women - thus giving any offspring the best possible start in life - good looks and psychopathic genes - an unstoppable combination!

Oh James! Britains finest indeed, and although this new incarnation looks a little poorly, he does seem to be a more realistic Bond than others. He played a Mossad agent in "Munich" as well. Interesting.

Unfortunately, got suckered into seeing this movie last weekend. Very bad, indeed, BUT, I was able to use this experience for something I found productive:

One part stuck out as "interesting" - it was, to me, subtle propaganda.
James Bond is a "rebel" in this movie and does some things his boss at MI6 doesn't like, so he gets IMPLANTED with a P-ID-like microchip on his right arm, to keep track of him. At the beginning, this invention is portrayed in a bad light in the movie, and Bond is obviously annoyed with it. After a while in the movie, he gets mortally poisoned and would have easily died EXCEPT he was able to call his buddies at HQ, who have specially-trained doctors who were able to MONITOR his health and identify the poisoned substance via this implanted CHIP, and who were able to diagnose a treatment on the spot. It was obvious Bond wouldn't have survived if it wasn't for this microchip! ALMOST thought "wow, that's pretty cool" ... and then, it hit me. HOLY CRAP - they just tried to manipulate me! See: first they played the "gov't spying, no privacy = bad" card and then they subsequently played the "necessity, security, survival = good" card, which pretty much blew the 1st one out of the water (for the average person not knowing what we know). The villain somehow knew about this chip, too, as he cut it out of Bond's arm later on in the movie when he wanted to KIDNAP him (villain was funding TERRORISM, btw!)

In conclusion, LEARNING IS FUN: if it wasn't for my knowledge, I would've been easily duped by the propaganda (Bond = "badass", cool => microchip saves Bond's life = must have one). Instead, it was actually fun(ny) to point all this stuff out.

What say we start a thread in which we point out blatant propaganda in blockbuster hollywood films?

good catch, it does seem that a lot of opinion forming is done via "blockbuster" movies. But try and tell anyone that their opinion is not really their own and you're a conspiracy theorist. It's pretty scary when you think about just how malleable the average mind is. I suppose that is what this forum is all about growing a less malleable mind. If the Signs page and forum were a mainstream consumer product, it would read "Less malleability for your mind" on the box. :-)

Talking about opinion forming ;)

Hollywood buys Litvinenko book
Gareth Walsh

A BOOK co-written by Alexander Litvinenko, the murdered former spy, which alleges that the Russian government was secretly behind bombings that killed 300 people, may be made into a film.
One name under discussion to play the role of Litvinenko is Daniel Craig, who has honed his spy–playing credentials as James Bond in the recent film Casino Royale.

Craig, 38, has already taken on the role of an investigator pitting himself against the Russian state, in the 2005 television adaptation of Archangel, the Robert Harris novel.

An option on the film rights for the book has been sold to Braun Entertainment Group, a Beverly Hills firm.

The book, Blowing Up Russia, presents a theory that the FSB, successor to the KGB, had a role in the bombing of a block of flats in the city of Ryazan. The Kremlin blamed the blast on Chechen terrorists.

The 1999 explosions helped swing public opinion behind Vladimir Putin and win him the presidency.

Gibson Square Books, which will release the work next month, said: “The option went to Braun based on a six-figure sum.ᾠ

Any film of Litvinenko’s book may further annoy the Kremlin, which has condemned his deathbed claims that Putin was behind the poisoning with polonium-210.

Alex Goldfarb, a friend of Litvinenko, believes he was killed for setting out to prove the theory of FSB involvement.

Others involved in investigating the blasts have also been killed. In 2003 Sergei Yushenkov, who set up a commission to examine them, was gunned down in Moscow. Later that year another member of the commission, Yuri Shchekochikhin, died after apparently being poisoned.

I wondered about why only movies like godfather, sex and voilence formula's , even selfish/psychopathic formula's gets accepted by peace loving majority people. They dont accept it by heart, but will not disagree either. Simple hypnotic machine of PTB/matrix. These 007 movies are good programming tools to maintain the hypnotic ilusion of sex/voilence formula with all subtle suggestions. Only Now we can see better.

Haven't watched the movie. A friend of mine called saying that he liked the movie "because this James Bond seemed like a real person this time" and the story used the same template of Batman Begins, more or less... far less, I would add... quite a manipulation.

Well there's a history of it in western society. There was an advertising blurb I recall along the lines of.

Greed, lust, revenge, adultery, murder, suicide, treachery? Go see an Opera.

And the Opera looked for its inspiration in the Greek dramas I believe.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago and loved it.
I think its the best Bond ever made. Daniel Craig should get a Oscar for his performance. I mean how (as an actor) can you take such a cliché character that has been exhausted in over 20 movies and completely reinvent it and bring it to the next level?
And the whole story in Fleming's (who had intelligence background) first Bond installment: Away from some unbelievable Blofelds that take over the world. The story is more about reality: The whole intelligence business is about killing and weapons to make money - back then when Fleming wrote it, as today. Nothing has changed.
The "megaffin" is MONEY that is used to pay WEAPONS in WARS created for that purpose (MAKING MONEY). Intelligence Services are there to CONTROL the GAME through the use of KILLERS/HITMEN (called SPYS). The psychopathic programming for those KILLERS is provided by their superiors in the attempt to DETACH them from their EMOTIONS (should they still have some). Apparently Bond has, which makes him a HUMAN among all the other PSYCHOS and that makes him likable. Its even explained how they (MI6) got their hands on him: He was a orphan - nobody ever taught him humanity (the little he has comes from inside his un-psychopathic self)
As to the "implanting chips is good for you" story. The people I spoke to thought that part was the worst of the whole film (thank god) and so did I.
What cracked me up the most: the swiss banker that handles the money in the poker game - completely without conscious, with the most respectable bourgeois and smiling mask. He even brings the swiss chocolate. It doesn't get more realistic than that.
Go see - its fun.

Saw the latest JB film, and last for Daniel Craig in the role. Interesting was the bad guy attempting to kill off people globally with a 'disease' that is exactly the DNA based type COvid is today. The word Covid and vaccine isn't used, but it's pretty obvious what they are referring to, plus it is the course of the end of the franchise... osis from the end, though they go woke if they want.
