On the new season of Survivor, Samoa, there is a psychopathic contestant named Russell. A commercial for the season is entitled Evil has a New Name. I do think it is sick how the game of Survivor is set up so that players must manipulate and betray each other to win money but I found the first episode of this season interesting. In the first episode the psychopathic individual, Russell, talks the viewer through his thought process as he manipulates and makes the lives of his tribesmen miserable. It is disturbing but also enlightening to see what tactics he uses and also to see how the normal people living with him justify his behavior and fall for his tricks. Some things that happen on the show may be relevant to the discussion of creating a new world where a group of people are living in the woods and must work together to survive and how a pathological individual can create serious problems.
