Sott.net can only login once but forum can use multiple?

Divide by Zero

The Living Force
Hi,
I use the forum on my tablet and my PC with no problem, the login sticks.

However, with sott.net can only log into one device at one time.

I was told this was due to security in the past, but I would think the forum is more critical for this!

Can there be multiple logins to sott.net? It would make it easier to do commentary and also for the sott radio which I like to play on my tablet, but use the chat on my desktop?

Hi,

This issue is what makes problems for me to use sott.net on both my tablet on desktop, especially when there is the sott radio show chat.

I was told a while ago in chat that it is for security. That's cool. But then, why is this forum ok with multiple devices- both tablet and desktop stay logged on (both secure password protected).

If its a technical issue, that's fine. But, why no answer? It gets problematic because even when I just want to read articles on sott. without logging in, it will pop up for me to log in (https). Staying logged in on both would make it less of a hassle, like the forum works.

Hi Divide By Zero,

I'm logged in on my portable and my desktop as well on the forum and Sott and I don't have any problems.

Hi Divide By Zero,

It could be that this is just an editor option and not available for everybody that a multiple device login is available.

Well, I'm not a expert but I don't see why we could not be logged on 2 separate devices. After all, the website, I think, is checking via a cookie if your are log or not.

Gandalf, I was told by Scottie that it is a technical issue with some browsers. That's why it will lock me onto one https login at a time.

I'm fine with that knowing it's something that is specific to sott.net.

Thanks
