Just guessing here but maybe this test is part of the upcoming s500 defense system. I think that this one is for defence against ICBMs. Those Russian rockets sure go fast.
It could well be. Judging by its take-off velocity it's on a different scale to either the S300 or S400. I think I remember watching a broadcasted demonstration of a similar missile launch last year and being left stunned not just by the speed but also the sound of the missile at launch. Hypersonic?
