Russia Begins Operations in Syria: End Game for the US Empire?

A US senator has prepared a proposal to buy Russian S-400 air defense system from Turkey - The US Senate has approved a purchase.

Oh, that's just too funny!

And what do these insane Senator's plan on doing with a Russian S-400 Air Defense System? Park it on the front lawn of the White House to use it - as competition - against our 4th of July "Independence Day" fireworks displays over the Potomac River?

George Washington would be so ... impressed! (Man-over-board!)

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is moving ahead with a lower-key “Salute to America” celebration this year on July Fourth, despite concerns from some lawmakers about the crowds the event could generate during the coronavirus pandemic.

The White House said that the President and First Lady Melania Trump will host the event this year from the White House’s South Lawn and the Ellipse. It said the President will deliver remarks and that the ceremony will include music, military demonstrations and flyovers. Last year, Trump spoke near the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

On this occasion, I would like to say that in the case of such tricky-ass Erdogan weapons supplied for export always have a somewhat reduced functionality. This applies to all types of technologically complex equipment. Most likely, this is also due to China's alleged dissatisfaction with the same S-400 systems. As for the inability to hit the Israeli air force with Russian equipment, in my opinion, this is due to certain agreements between Russia and Israel. Two facts can tell you this. First, Israel strikes on Syrian territory, but at the facilities at the disposal of the Iranian forces, almost 100 %. Second, if the s-400 Had been counted and decoded by now, would the Americans have bought it from the Turks?

Russia has torn up agreements with the UN on Syria-Washington is shocked by the consequences
2020-06-30
Russia has severed any relations with the UN on deconflicting in Syria.

The inaction of the UN representatives during the outright occupation of Syria by the American, Israeli and Turkish military forces forced Russia to refuse any further cooperation with this international organization. Breaking the agreement with the UN has already caused condemnation from the US, however, Russia explained its position.

"This mechanism was a voluntary agreement. It has no mandate from the security Council or any other legal basis. We have repeatedly pointed out the shortcomings of the mechanism. This was constantly ignored, " said the Russian Ambassador to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia.

It should be clarified that the rupture of Russia's agreement with the UN brings many problems for the United States and the so-called International coalition, since now allegedly humanitarian convoys delivering weapons to militants and jihadists can not freely cross the Syrian border, which has caused a lot of complaints against Russia.

"Today we see how the UN "regulates" the situation in Syria. This is not done in favor of the Syrian people, but in favor of the United States, and it is not surprising that Russia has decided to take such a step, which will be a tough response to the United States, " the analyst notes.

Export versions differ from the originals and are downgraded. While still superior in many ways. The Turkish S400 is not the same as the S400 the Russians use. They keep the best tricks to themselves.

I think that Erdogan was determined to get the S400 to ensure no military intervention would occur against Turkey. How ever unlikey that was. The Turkish president was almost ousted by a Nato led coup, If not assassinated. He is not taking any chances and considers the S400 as his guardian angel. OSIT.

Some time ago I read that Turkey is not allowed to ever sell their S400 to anyone. Both parties agreed to that.

В ФСВТС заявили, что реэкспорт купленных Турцией С-400 без разрешения РФ невозможен

Yes, it is. Now officials are speaking out.

The FSMTC said that the re-export of S-400 purchased by Turkey without the permission of the Russian Federation is impossible
Moscow. June 30. INTERFAX.RU-the Transfer of s-400 air defense systems delivered to Turkey to another state without the permission of Russia is impossible, Maria Vorobyova, an official representative of the Federal service for military-technical cooperation of Russia (FSMTC), told Interfax on Tuesday.

So she commented on the initiative of Republican Senator John Thune, who, according to Defense News, said that the US could buy the S-400 from Turkey, thereby resolving a number of contradictions with Ankara.

"To export military products, the buyer of our equipment must submit an end-user certificate to the Russian side. Therefore, its transfer or re-export to third countries without the official permission of the Russian side is impossible, " Vorobyova said.

According to Defense News, Thune proposed an amendment to the national defense budget appropriations act for fiscal year 2021 that would allow the us army budget to be used to purchase missile weapons. As a condition of the purchase, Turkey must be assured that it will not use the proceeds to buy other military equipment that is incompatible with the NATO requirement.

Oh, that's just too funny!

It is funny, however what is exactly at play behind the screen (added salt just in case)?

This is in response to the F-35 project, and as an aside from above sanctions;

The amendment also suggested that proceeds of the S-400 purchase "will not be utilized to purchase or otherwise acquire military apparatus deemed by the United States to be incompatible with NATO".

Yet what about Israel's stake in the game - this goes back a year (Haaretz - 🧂)?

Snip:

One could cautiously conclude that Israel won’t be too disappointed if the Americans halt the supply of innovative warplanes to Turkey. Israel doesn’t view Turkey as an enemy, but the hostility between the two countries is no secret, and it’s difficult to predict how Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan would react in future scenarios, such as escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

From Israel’s perspective, halting the supply of the jets to Turkey wouldn’t be a bad development.

Under an agreement between Israel and Turkey, a maintenance center for F-35 engines was to be established in Turkey, to be used by air forces from the region. In addition, Turkish companies signed a large number of contracts to serve as subcontractors in the project, as was done in Israel – Israel Aerospace Industries is the subcontractor manufacturer of the stealth fighter’s wings.

If these contracts are canceled after the entire deal falls through, it would create a vacuum ripe for Israeli companies to enter. Feelers have been sent out between the Pentagon and Israel’s Defense Ministry about the possibility of putting together a package of proposals for new deals with Israeli military companies.

These contracts could be worth hundreds of millions of dollars, though one shouldn’t count one’s chickens before the eggs hatch, and the leaders in question – Trump and Erdogan – are not known for being predictable.

While looking at either (S-400 or F-35) and ultimately what goes down (Caesar/CAATSA sanctions), cui bono?

In August of 2019 in TRT News (Turkish government broadcaster - 🧂):

Israel secretly lobbied the US Trump administration to block Turkey from purchasing its F-35 fighter jets in an effort to maintain its military edge in the region, according to Israeli media report.

Israel began urging the White House to drop Ankara from its F-35 project soon after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan approved the purchase of the S-400 missile defence system from Russia, Channel 12 reported on Thursday.

"It put pressure on Washington to cancel the sale of advanced aircraft to Turkey," it said.

[...]

US-Turkey tensions

Turkey was suspended from the F-35 programme in July, with the US administration claiming the Russian S-400 would compromise the security of its F-35 jets.

Turkey denies the claim, adding that for years it tried unsuccessfully to buy US Patriot missile defence before it turned to the S-400s.

While US President Donald Trump has resisted penalising Turkey over the S-400 issue, there has been pressure from Congress as well as his own administration to take measures against Turkey, including sanctions.

Israel only country in Mideast with F-35s

In the last two years, Israel started purchasing F-35s from the US, making it the only country in the Middle East to own this type of fighter aircraft.

The Israeli government has signed agreements with US defence contractor Lockheed Martin to purchase at least 50 F-35 aircraft using US aid funds.

The aircraft will be delivered in batches of twos and threes through 2024.

Israel, in 2018, revealed that its air forces had used the F-35 fighter jets in Lebanon which makes it the first military in the world to do so.

S-400's are important (2.5 billion deal), yet 50 F35's at 90 million each plus maintenance contracts/parts/manufacturing in US AID Funds (lucky U.S. taxpayers as always), is nothing to sneeze at. Knowing how these air craft deals go, it is probably > 7 billion by the time the dust settles. So, not sure, there seems to be a bit of a shell game going on here, and things to knock down by the press, and sanctions added, while other objectives are built up in other hands.

The Syrian military blocked the path of the American patrol in the North-East of the country.
Details of the "Russian Spring" told a military source.
SAA soldiers did not allow armored vehicles to pass through their checkpoint to the us army's Oshkosh M-ATV in Haseke province.
It is known that the Syrian army, stationed at the al-Dardara bridge on the road between the settlements of tel Tamr and Abu Rasin in the Northern countryside of al-hasakah, intercepted an American convoy consisting of several armored vehicles Oskosh M-ATV and forced the occupants to retreat. Turning back, they returned to their base.
The photos below show moments when Syrian army soldiers in an offensive manner force representatives of the us armed forces to change their route.
As a military source told Russian Spring, the Syrian military saw off the Americans not only with offensive gestures, but also with rude expressions.
Earlier in the week, SAR government forces intercepted an American military convoy that was trying to pass along a road near the town of tel Barak in hasakah.
Such confrontations are occurring more often in the North-East of the SAR after the deployment of Russian Armed forces in the region.

In Syria, the international coalition forces were attacked-two American armored personnel carriers were damaged
2020-07-04
Unknown people attacked the forces of the international coalition in the East of Syria.
This evening, in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor, an explosion occurred on the route of a column of armored vehicles, which was the first attack on the forces of the so-called international coalition in the past few months. As a result of the explosion of IEDs, victims from the French and American military managed to avoid, at least, this is stated by Syrian sources, however, serious damage was sustained by two American armored personnel carriers, which were unable to leave the scene of the incident on their own.
It is not known who exactly was behind the attack, but the Iranian military and Pro-Iranian forces are active in the region, and it has been suggested that Iran and its controlled forces are the culprit. At the moment, this is the first attack on the forces of the international coalition in the past few months, which is obviously evidence that the us military is trying to gradually oust from the territory of the Arab Republic, resorting to radical measures.
Sources report that the explosion was low-power, but directed, indicating that the operation was planned in advance.
