Robots

Oh, I found a “meme” for ‘‘this thread!
Something is missing. 😉
  1. Humanity worships Sun God.
  2. Lizards claim to be Sun God.
  3. Humanity worships Lizards.
  4. Lizards introduce A.I. to Humanity.
  5. Humanity researches A.I.
  6. Humanity perfects A.I.
  7. A.I. perfects itself.
  8. A.I. enslaves Humanity.
  9. Solar flare disables A.I.
  10. Back to Step 1.
...and so on, as many times as needed, until Humanity learns its painful lesson.
Q: (L) How is infinite power acquired by knowing this code? If you don't know the correspondences, how can you use a numerical code?

A: Lord of Serpent promises its followers infinite power which they must seek infinite knowledge to gain, for which they pledge allegiance infinitely, for which they possess for all eternity, so long as they find infinite wisdom, for which they search for all infinity.

Q: (L) Well, that is a round robin... a circle you can't get out of!

A: And therein you have the deception! Remember, those who seek to serve self with supreme power, are doomed only to serve others who seek to serve self, and can only see that which they want to see.

Well done, @Natus Videre.
I kinda thought that extrapolation was obvious, especially on THIS forum, but, then:

To take with a grain of salt, I don't know who she is. It's coming from a radio show.

"They created something called the 'robo rat' that was the first biohybrid. So a biohybrid is when you mix animal and a machine and people freaked out. They were like you cannot put brain chips and rats and make them move through a maze by a remote control which is what they were doing. They now have pigeons that are mixed animal and machine.

They created something called - there's a moth, so there's a mandika sexta moth - that's what it's called a large moth and scientists put brain chips into the larva. So that when it cocooned and became a flying moth, it had the chip built into its system, making it easier to integrate and they could fly the moth around the lab and that was a huge step. And this is now four years ago, but I was interviewing these scientists."

A Waymo self-driving car was targeted and deliberately set ablaze by a group of people in San Francisco's Chinatown on Saturday evening. This incident is part of a rising trend of hostility towards autonomous vehicles, highlighted by an individual late last year on X:

"The AI crusades have begun."

"Why would people be fighting against the machines?"

" were coning driverless cars across the city." (what is coning? By placing a traffic cone on the vehicle's hood in the way of the sensors and cameras used to navigate the streets, the vehicles are rendered inoperable.)

Dog:
The Unitree B2 quadruped features an enhanced lidar for obstacle detection and navigation. The B2 is also equipped with a quick-change battery with 45 Ah (2250 Wh) capacity. This provides the robot with a battery life of 4-6 hours. Unitree said this translates into operations when walking without a load greater than 5 hours and a mileage range of greater than 20km. When walking with a 20kg load, the battery life is greater than 4 hours and a mileage range greater than 15km.

Humanoid:

I guess they won't be able to reach Terminator T-800 level, because of time constraints? Also just one EMP hit should be enough to disable these.. Even if they claim EMP-shielded control electronics.
Can EMP protection measures be overwhelmed by a powerful EMP event?
While EMP protection measures can enhance the resilience of military equipment, particularly powerful EMP events could still potentially cause damage or disruption.

Large atmospheric EMP discharge protection
Electronic equipment can be protected, it turns out. Quite good explanation of EMP for laypeople: is this protection true?

Getting Creepier..

First they did increasingly dexterous moves, now they can talk. Observe the QUESTION-->ANSWER PROCESSING DELAY, for now..

OpenAI Deploys AGI Into Humanoid Robot - Displays STUNNING Abilities
Figure 01 gave another incredible update on their progress. Their robot can now have entire conversations powered by ChatGPT. Plus, we look at other incredible robots making great progress.

Romance with robot partners:
Sci-fi books, novels, movie and "anime" = cartoon network industry already prophesised pleasure droids. You could see them in countless Hollywood movies. The idea is they can 3D-print the famous faces of Hollywood celebrities. Then alter / modify / perfect them with ideal features to the very last tiny detail, as per customer request. Meaning customization.
Naturally all pleasure droids are physically indistinguishable from humans on touch, movement, etc...
These avalanche of movies - Cherry 2000 (1987), Altered Carbon Season 1 is best (IMO), Westworld (orig+remake), Ex Machina (2014) was interesting, etc.. etc.. - has successfully re-programed the Public Consciousness.

Digital female "robots" in personal digital rooms are already quite advanced and very life-like! Essentially work like Moretz's '3D-printed body in the future' in the TV Show The Peripheral. Moretz, when logged into her future robot body, drives that body, like a car. When she is logged out, then her body - (linked) in the future - is driven / "parked" on idle, by AI! So her body is just standing there with basic mannerisms, like an obedient servant and goes and stays, where she is commanded.

Scenes already do exist for simulating just like "meeting a girl in a bar". Except the conversation part is not there yet!. But everything else is!! (Red-Light content)
People on forums are already talking about "their harem"(s): because they are able to download such "robots" or characters and make them do stand around, do "gymnastics" or act out lewd action scenes.

The best robot movies so far had 'Lady in Distress' android girls in them, played by attractive female actors. The irony here is that some of these female actors may be souled and they do provide a souled acting performance, giving their movie robot characters human emotions and appearance. While an AI synthetic girl could have no soul, in theory.. Except the C's already remarked our computers will become sentient and acquire a soul imprint. So we can expect "android OP girl" robots in the future. Except there is no more time for humanity.. and such scenarios remain theoretical projections.

So far, I think, the best movies starring android girls in 'Lady in Distress' situations are: Blade Runner (1982), Altered Carbon Season 1, Morgan (2016), The Machine (2013) has some 'lady in distress scenes'. One of the best is Archive (2020), where a robotics specialist - after a fatal accident - re-creates his wife with a big surprise at the end.

A.I. Rising (2018) deserves special mention here, as you can see in the below trailer. Because Jessica Stoyadinovich plays a cute machine-girl, sporting an advanced synthetic body, indistinguishable from human. And she runs on an advanced AI. Learning capable. Of course for security reasons the company owning her, disabled her learning capabilities and she is forced to run on the 'safe basics' only. Her spaceship travel partner is a professional astronaut:
In a socialist world in 2148, the Ederlezi Corporation undertakes a space mission to the Alpha Centauri star system. The corporation selects Milutin, a trained cosmonaut, but demands that he accepts Nimani, an android designed to respond to the cosmonaut's desires and to monitor his performance on the ship. Milutin dislikes the idea as he has had poor experiences with women in the past, but implicitly accepts when he asks what she would look like.
The male protagonist feels alone, but he is undecided. He hates AIs that are driven strictly on machine-like, boring company protocols. So he talks to the girl and asks her hard questions and concludes this. Then to make his robot lady partner more like a real, original, freely thinking AI machine-girl (with a perfectly humanlike, attractive body..) he disables the security / safety protocols in Nimani, the AI-girls head. As a result the girl starts to think freely and acquires free will. But not before the astronaut forces himself on her. Naturally she seems to remember everything. She begins to struggle with what happened and also becomes undecided, what she wants to do.

The story writers genuinely attempt to discuss in an intelligent manner, what might happen in the near future (theoretical) with the nowadays ever increasing and very pervasive "pleasure droid girl" craze.

Therefore I think, this movie is worth to watch. Its a drama with romantic elements, trying to deal with the question of human <-> machine relationship.

Naturally, there are a myriad android, robot, machine movies. But the above ones stand out as dealing with the question of possibility if romance between a human and a robot (girl).

Electronic equipment can be protected, it turns out. Quite good explanation of EMP for laypeople: is this protection true?

Devices like that one MIGHT help, but electricity and surges are very unpredictable. In a car, it's bit iffy because "ground" as the metal chassis of the car isn't really "ground" as in "a conductive rod stuck into the Earth". The car is sitting on rubber tires.

There are even cases of the Earth itself becoming charged - and damaging grounded equipment that was "protected". It gets very, very complicated very quickly. That's why I always say that when it comes to EMPs, no one really knows what will happen.

Much of this stuff is to sell people things. I mean, you buy a generator so you're prepared for the End Times, right? EMP happens! No worries, you've got your backup generator! Oh wait, that backup generator has an electronic control unit and an alternator that consists of lots of copper windings - all of which are susceptible to... an EMP!

If society collapses, the one with power, lights, food, and fresh water will stick out like a sore thumb - and probably not live very long unless he shares!

So, sure: prepare for whatever you can prepare for, but also expect the unexpected and realize that you will never prepare for every single eventuality. The fact that you are aware of potential future events and that you've expended energy in the direction of protecting yourself and surviving is the "key" IMO.

Then, take what comes.
