Raccoons are quite interesting. I am reminded of a story my husband tells of a family he knew as a child.
He says that one day the family were out in the yard saying "goodbye" to some friends "southern style" (typically long and drawn out). A raccoon wandered up to one of the older sons, climbed up his body and began examining the boy's ear. The raccoon then moved in with the family who fed it and let it in and out as it desired. They said they would come home and find the raccoon examining various parts of the house...The raccoon lived with this family for 2 years and then just moved back out.
What??? Was the raccoon some sort of anthropologist doing a field study of a human family??? Weird.
