question on "Latest Topics on the Signs Forum"

I just recently created a new topic on the forum but it never appeared in the latest topics box. This has happened to me before - not consistently either.

I'm just curious as to what the "algorithm" is for putting items in the latest topics box. Is it automatic based on time stamp, is it hand edited, is "permission" given to individual people or postings?

Not a problem, just curious.

just a guess: perhaps this list is generated when the new page is published each day, rather than being continuously updated every time the page is requested?

I thought they were a list of newly posted topics? Maybe its just a glitch, something along the lines of the database not liking French accents...
