Neanderthal/Cro-magnon man

I'm watching a show right now that is claiming that Cro-magnon and Neanderthal mated to create a hybrid race eventually becoming modern man. They are trying to explain the disappearance of Neanderthal. I remember reading some passages from the C's discussing this, but I can't find them. Anybody have this readily available?
