This article off the wire from AP-Moshe Katsav has apparently been "naughty" (are we surprised?)

Article appears here:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16768688/

David Mena who is a friend of President Katsav says he is certain the indictment will be "softened"

(perhaps Attorney General Meni Mazuz will be threatened or be a victim of "random Palestinian violence?"

According to the article this is the first time such a high ranking official has been charged with a crime...let's see if the charges stick and he gets indicted. Bet he gets a "slap on the wrist" and walks scott free.

If someone else has already posted this under a different heading, mods feel free to remove.

He's been granted 'temp leave of absence' following accusations of rape by 4 women under his employ going back several years- Olmert has 'urged' him to step down, whatever that means in Israeli politics!? Don't be surprised if he winds up sidelined with a coma from a 'stress-induced brain anyeurism'... Like I said in the previous post; once they want you out, you're a goner!

Check out what Katsav says at his press conference:

BBC said:
In an emotionally-charged news conference, Mr Katsav said he would fight to clear his name, "even if it means a world war".
You wouldn't put it past him, would you?

BBC said:
At one point the president railed against a reporter from Israel's Channel 2 television, accusing it of leading a campaign against him.

He implored the public not to believe the allegations, saying: "When the truth comes out you will be shocked."
Quite

Katsy said:
"Don't believe the libel, the defamation, the lies," he said. "There is only one truth... I am the target of one of the worst attacks in the history of the State of Israel."
Phew, now that would be some feat!
