IRA donations tax free to FOTCM

This is not applicable right now, though it probably will be again in the future.

US tax laws periodically allow people to donate some/all of their IRA money directly to a charity tax free. The basic overview is that you would instruct your IRA custodian to mail a check directly to FOTCM, and that IRA distribution up to $100,000 is not taxable and also meets minimum distribution requirements if you are 70 1/2+ years old. The formal name is qualified charitable distribution (QCD).

The latest tax free window closed at the end of 2013. It has opened and closed several times, so I think it will open again at an unknown time.
