Within the framework of cooperation between the Belarusian Orthodox Church and the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, the film "Sister" was created. The 25-minute video tells the story of Anastasia Nesterenko, a sister of mercy from the St. Elizabeth Monastery in Minsk.
She is a young and successful lawyer who leaves a good job and goes in search of herself, but finds God. Nastya is preparing documents for moving to Germany. Instead, he ends up in a monastery.
According to the director of the film Alyona Sokolovskaya, the video was shot and edited for 4 months. It was time to take a meaningful approach to work. The task was to show that everyone is interested in their own story. The main thing is to "dig deeper."
The cinematographer of the film was Maxim Maksak, an employee of the BGUIR video studio, and Daniil Linkevich, a university student, was the editor. The young man is studying to become an engineer, but he has thoughts of becoming a priest later.
As the chairman of the Synodal Information Department of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, Priest Igor Vasko, said, the history of faith is always the story of specific people and their living experience. The Lord, like the sun, is reflected in every human soul, therefore, acquaintance with such an experience becomes one of the forms of knowledge of God. The film "Sister" tells just how a person of our time comes to the Lord and finds real joy in the new reality that faith in God reveals. We are sincerely grateful for the interest that the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics has shown in spiritual topics. We hope that this wonderful film will find its continuation in the projects that are being implemented by the educational institution together with the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
As part of the project, classes on Smm and the basics of information technology are also held between the BPC and the university.
