How good do you think your eyes are? Good enough to detect the small things that give away a photo as a hoax? Good enough to know the "real" thing when you see it?

Take this test. It presents ten fairly recent e-mail photos, and gives you a chance to decide "real" or "hoax". After you "vote", it gives the actual (factual) explanation, and at the end, it shows how many of them fooled you, and how many of them you spotted.

Hmmm, 7 out of 10 correct. Not sure if thats good or bad?
 
I got 8 of 10. The chicken and snowflake I didn't guess right. And that's about what the test amounts to is guessing, unless a person has prior knowledge of anything related to the photos.
 
Not too tough. Most you can tell were photoshopped.

Ah yes. But your eyes are experienced. Remember a few months back when that article with all the vowels missing was circulated -- the fact that just about everyone was able to read it was supposed to prove that our eyes fill in the blanks. Even more than with text, with photographs, it works even more seamlessly.
