Yeah, it's the new Coen brothers movie (the guys who did No Country for Old Men, Fargo, O Brother Where Art Thou, etc.). They first pitched the idea in 2004, but didn't start the actual script till around 2013, it looks like (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hail,_Caesar!#Development). But yeah, it's cool timing. Also, last year it was announced that Hollywood will be making a big blockbuster trilogy based on Caesar and Brutus. (Prediction: it'll probably be bad: http://deadline.com/2015/08/emperor-julius-caesar-marcus-brutus-lionsgate-conn-iggulden-1201506981/)
I recently watched this movie. In short, it is a buffoonery about the golden age of Hollywood, Marxism, Christianity. What caught my attention was the introductory scene:
"Hail, Caesar! opens in a church, the camera first resting upon a crucified Christ then moving to Mannix as he sits in the confessional...In the ninety minutes or so in between, religion is discussed many times within the studio walls, but only in relation to the film within the film, subtitled ‘A Tale of the Christ’, in which a Roman soldier finds God."

The Cohen brothers are not unimportant Hollywood directors and this film has very interesting references, especially for the 'informed'. I recommend it to watch, among other things, because it is a light and undisturbed film unlike many Hollywood ones.
