Perhaps this should go in the conspiracy theory section :)
I have noticed that when I and others post a new reply to a thread, immediately afterwards the "guests online" number jumps from 2-5 to 40 or more!
It seems to be rather consistent but only for the "Signs Editorials" and "Signs News Articles" sections. The number of guests did not rise at all after this post (however this is a new topic so perhaps the same rules do not apply).
Is there some technical explanation for this? Are copies of new posts sent to a backup system that causes the "guests online" number to be artificially high for a few minutes?
If anyone know the reason for this, I'm curious about it...
