China and Japan competing for first fiber-optic cable to connect Asia with South America

China's hidden influence is becoming more known in the USA concerning the stolen elections and how government officials have been compromised. Here is a map of all the undersea cables connecting China to other countries that allows them access to the internet. Are they helping to rig elections in other countries as well? The use of Dominion voting machines and other software systems designed to hack elections are being used world wide is my understanding. So, this is an interesting visual for understanding the complexity of it all.

Google ( funded by CIA) will partner with China Mobile International, China Telecom Global, Global Transit, KDDI Corp, and SingTel to invest $300 million in FASTER, while NEC will be the system supplier for the cable network. The group expects FASTER to be ready by the middle of 2016.

I think you may not understand how the internet works. It is a vast interconnected network. it relies on cables connecting countries and continents. The more cables and the greater the capacity of each cable, the more data can flow and flow faster. There is continual growth of the interconnecting cables. Consortia are formed to fund them, to lay them and then to sell the capacity. There is a great deal of money to be made providing more and faster capacity. And when it comes down to it, we all want faster internet, we all want not to have to wait. Typically you will find telecommunications companies driving these expansions, as they stand to gain from the increased traffic. So Chinese telecommunications companies will naturally be involved as well as telcos from all over the world. Google is recasting itself as a telco, providing fibre networks across the US, so again not surprising to see them funding internet growth.
