A friend who is an astrologer send me this which was a little outside the norm and may to people well versed in these things have significance or not. The author discusses the events around the December eclipse that were posted in the forum but he also discusses these things going forward in terms of the “Children of Mercury” and some of the Middle East leaders.

Please be warned as there are a few photos attached to the link of which two are associated in a graphic nature from Tunisia.

What's Going On?

There’s no denying that this is an extraordinary time—full of tumult and change. But rest assured that what flared to life on December 21, 2010 will come to rest by June 15, 2011. However what we make of all of these to-dos will be up to us. Astrology is not a religion nor is it a science. Astrology is a calendar—which is why every major civilization on the planet created some form of Astrology. It was in order to tell time. It’s Astrology’s job to tell us when a time has come or when a time has passed. The task of sorting out the causes from the effects and figuring out the whys and wherefores is entirely up to us. What we are experiencing now is a confluence of two storm fronts coming together at a particular time and place. The first was the lunar eclipse of December 21, 2010 and the second is the gathering stellium of planets in Aries—the likes of which haven’t been seen since spring of 1928.

Lunar Eclipse at 29 Gemini on December 21, 2010

On December 21, 2010 we had a lunar eclipse at 29 degrees Gemini. The 29th degree of any sign is considered to be a critical degree. Any planetary aspect that takes place here—be it a conjunction, opposition, or square—is bound to have an extraordinary effect.

There are two types of eclipses in Astrology: solar eclipses and lunar eclipses. A solar eclipse is when the Moon passes in front of the Sun—blocking its light and casting a shadow across the earth. Solar eclipses impact heads of state (like a king or a president) and they have a bit of a nasty reputation in old school Astrology. A lunar eclipse, which is when the earth passes between the Sun and the Moon and casts its shadow on the Moon-- impacts the people; the body politic. Lunar eclipses tell us about the state of the state.

A lunar eclipse asks one question and one question only: are things on iffy ground? If things are on solid footing then a lunar eclipse will come and go quietly in the night. However if things are on iffy ground then you will see them collapse and fall apart—no ifs, ands, or buts. This is the Stars’ way of clearing out the dead wood in order to make room for new growth.

So who does this lunar eclipse impact the most? Since the lunar eclipse on December 21, 2010 took place at 29 degrees Gemini, it would impact people born under Gemini and Virgo or anyone who could be described as a Child of Mercury because Mercury is the Ruling Planet of Gemini and Virgo. Who are the Children of Mercury? Children of Mercury are messengers, students, craftsmen, service workers, shopkeepers, merchants, and vendors. They are itinerant and always on the move. They are not tied to a piece of land (like a farmer) or to the court (like a politician). They’re the people you see every day—maybe it’s the person you buy your newspaper from or the waitress who takes your lunch order.

On December 17, 2010 a Tunisian street vendor named Mohamed Bouazzi who had supported his widowed mother and siblings since the age of ten set himself on fire in protest of his wares being confiscated by the police. This was the spark that lit the tinderbox that resulted in a series of demonstrations and riots throughout Tunisia. But Mohamed Bouazizi did not die right away.

Solar Eclipse at 13 Capricorn on January 4, 2011 coincides with the Jupiter and Uranus conjunction at 27 Pisces

Mohamed Bouazizi died on January 4, 2011 at 5:30 PM local time. The Sun was setting at the time and evidently the Sun was also setting on the Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali who had just visited Bouazizi in the hospital.
What’s remarkable about this day isn’t just the solar eclipse (which if you remember impacts heads of state), but the fact that January 4, 2011 is also the day when a very rare conjunction between Jupiter and Uranus took place at 27 degrees Pisces. Jupiter is the planet of government in Astrology and Uranus is the planet of revolution and change. This conjunction between the planet of government and revolution forms an almost exact square to the lunar eclipse of December 21, 2010 that took place at 29 degrees Gemini. This kind of square is adversarial and incendiary. It is also a pattern that we will see repeat itself in the stories to come.

Remember that a lunar eclipse asks one question and one question only: are you on iffy ground? The answer was clearly yes given that Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali was forced to step down on January 14, 2011 after 23 years in power. But what’s important to note is that the lunar eclipse of December 21, 2010 impacts Children of Mercury, people born under the zodiac signs of Gemini and Virgo. President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali was born on September 3, 1936. He is a Virgo, a Child of Mercury.

THE PERFECT STORM GATHERS SPEED:

Jupiter enters Aries on January 22, 2011

Jupiter entered the zodiac sign of Aries on January 22, 2011. Now this isn’t really that big of a deal (Jupiter changes zodiac signs every year) except for the fact that Mercury entered Aries on March 9, 2011; followed by Uranus entering Aries on March 11, 2011; followed by the Sun entering Aries on March 20, 2011; followed by Mars entering Aries on April 1, 2011; followed by Venus entering Aries on April 20, 2011. This puts six planets in the zodiac sign of Aries at the same time. Aries is ruled by Mars, named after the Roman god of war. But let’s back up to January 22, 2011 which is when Jupiter entered Aries.

On January 25, 2011 street protests against Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak broke out in Cairo and other Egyptian cities. Mubarak tried to calm the crowds with promises of constitutional reform but things went from nasty to worse on February 2nd. The clashes were so bad that Mubarak was forced to resign his office on February 11, 2011.

Now theoretically President Mubarak of Egypt shouldn’t have been affected by the events set off by the lunar eclipse of December 21, 2010 because Mubarak is a Taurus, a child of Venus—and not a Child of Mercury. But Mubarak was born on May 4, 1928. Remember how I said that we haven’t seen a collection of planets in Aries like this since the spring of 1928? Well, not only is Mubarak’s Venus in Aries, but more importantly Mubarak was born when Jupiter and Uranus were both in Aries, as well. The chances of these two planets (the planet of government and the planet of revolution) returning to this zodiac sign, Aries, and at this particular time is . . . well . . . astronomical. And indeed Mubarak resigned from office three weeks after Jupiter entered Aries on January 22, 2011. If you look up the planets for February 11, 2011 you will see that Jupiter is at 4 degrees Aries. Mubarak was born when Uranus was at 5 degrees Aries. This conjunction between Jupiter in the sky and Uranus in his chart said that it was time for Mubarak to go.

On February 17, 2011 political protests broke out in Libya, but in this instance the President of Libya, Muammar Qaddafi decided to strike back with full military force. The result has been a bloody war between the rebels and the Libyan government forces.

So is Muammar el-Qaddafi a Child of Mercury? Yes, he is—just like the deposed Tunisian president Ben Ali. Qaddafi was born on June 7, 1942. He’s a Gemini with his Ruling Planet Mercury retrograde at 24 degrees Gemini. This puts Qaddafi’s Ruling Planet near that lunar eclipse at 29 degrees Gemini on December 21, 2010. And though Jupiter is not Qaddafi’s Ruling Planet, it is the planet of government and Qaddafi was born with his Jupiter at 29 degrees Gemini which is exactly conjunct the lunar eclipse point. But what’s really interesting about this is that the lunar eclipse happens to fall on the 22nd year anniversary of the Lockerbie bombing which took place on December 21, 1988.

On December 21, 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 en route from London to JFK suddenly exploded in midair killing all 243 passengers and 16 crew members. This took place over the Scottish town of Lockerbie where eleven people were killed on the ground as well. On February 23, 2011 Mustafa Mohamed Abud Al Jeleil, the former Justice Secretary of Libya, claimed to have evidence that Qaddafi personally ordered the Pan Am Flight bombing. So is it just a coincidence that the December 21, 2010 lunar eclipse should happen to fall on the anniversary of the Lockerbie bombing? One can only guess. But apparently the planets have long memories and this seems to be an instance when what goes around, comes around. In any case with Mercury (the ruler of the lunar eclipse) entering Aries on March 9, 2011 followed by Uranus entering Aries on March 11, 2011 it’s not hard to read the writing on the wall for Qadaffi. Uranus changing zodiac signs is like a regime change in Astrology. The last time Uranus changed zodiac signs was on March 10, 2003—ten days before the US invasion of Iraq.

Uranus enters Aries on March 11, 2011

Uranus first entered the zodiac sign of Aries last year on May 27, 2010. Uranus was followed by Jupiter entering Aries nine days later on June 5, 2010. Both planets spent a few months in Aries before retrograding back down into the zodiac sign of Pisces in the autumn of 2010. This planetary motion where a planet enters a sign, retreats, and then enters again is pretty commonplace. It’s a time when seeds are planted which is why astrologers will wait until the second time that the planet enters the sign to see what those seeds have borne.

Naoto Kan became the 94th prime minister of Japan on June 4, 2010 when Jupiter, the planet of government, was at 29 degrees Pisces squaring the December 21, 2010 lunar eclipse point at 29 degrees Gemini. Now even though Naoto Kan is not a Gemini or a Virgo (Naoto Kan is a Libra born on October 10, 1946) his government was “born” under Gemini. Governments, like people, have horoscopes too.

In a recent letter to the American NCGR chair, the president of the NCGR Tokyo Chapter Terumi Kondo wrote that as an astrologer, she was concerned about what would happen to her government in March 2011—especially from March 10 to March 21 because this was when Uranus would pass back over 0 degrees Aries. Mr. Kan became the 94th prime minister of Japan when Uranus was at 0 degrees Aries and Jupiter was at 29 degrees Pisces.

Terumi Kondo goes on to say “ I could expect some shake up in his [Naoto Kan’s] government which might demand his efforts . . . but I could not expect this kind of devastating disaster. Ironically his campaign slogan, “I Regenerate Japan”, has turned into reality now.”

The Japanese earthquake and tsunami took place on March 11, 2011—the very day that Uranus, planet of revolution and change, passed over zero degrees Aries.

WHAT’S NEXT?

I am writing this blog entry on March 31, 2011. Mars, the ruler of Aries, will enter its own zodiac sign tomorrow, April 1, 2011, and it will be there through May 11, 2011. Mars was named after the Roman god of war and this is his “season”. Japan still struggles with its recovery while racing to contain the radiation leaking from power plants that were damaged in the quake. Power plants are ruled by Mars because Mars is also the planet of energy and power in Astrology.
Meanwhile it looks like Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is next in line for this sweeping domino-effect that began with the lunar eclipse on December 21, 2010. So let us ask: is Bashar al-Assad a Child of Mercury? The answer is yes. Bashar al-Assad was born on September 11, 1965 which means that he’s a Virgo. Although he was born with his ruling planet Mercury at only 3 degrees Virgo, Jupiter, the planet of government, is at 28 degrees Gemini in his horoscope—just one degree away from the December 21, 2010 eclipse at 29 degrees Gemini. The pattern continues.

And what about the street vendor Mohamed Bouazizi who struck the match the lit the blaze back on December 17, 2010? How does he fit into all of this. Well, Mohamed Bouazizi is not a Gemini nor is he a Virgo. Mohamed Bouazizi, the vendor who lit himself on fire, was born on March 29, 1984-- which makes him an Aries, a Child of Mars.

Like I said before, Astrology is not a science nor is it a religion. Astrology is a calendar that tells us the time. Astrology tells us when the time for something has come and Astrology tells us when the time for something has passed. I believe that Astrology is one of the greatest inventions that mankind has ever conceived which makes me hopeful that the genius that conceived of this celestial clock in the first place is still on hand to help us to interpret these signs of the times so that we act wisely and compassionately.

Very nice article saying some really intelligent things about astrology!

Also just to say thanks for the link. . . that's the way Astrology should be presented!

Yes, it indeed seemed well thought out and not of the usual direction.
