Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the construction site of a new hospital building in Kommunarka (New Moscow).

This was reported to journalists by the press Secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov. He explained that Putin decided to personally familiarize himself with the situation in Kommunarka.

"Putin arrived at the hospital on Kommunarka. He listened to reports on the state of Affairs (on the progress of the fight against coronavirus in Russia-approx. RV), at the meeting, we decided to go to the hospital in Kommunarka, to see how things are there," Peskov said.

Earlier, at the presidential residence in Novo-Ogarevo near Moscow, the head of state held a meeting on the fight against coronavirus with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Russian health Minister Mikhail Murashko.

Vladimir Putin visited a hospital in the Moscow village of Kommunarka intended for patients with suspected coronavirus.

The Russian President spoke with the chief doctor of the hospital, Denis Protsenko, and thanked him for organizing the work of the medical facility.

"Please convey your best words and warmest words of gratitude to your entire team.

I watched them work. All at battle stations. I don't want to use these military expressions, but everything really works for you like a watch, like a good, well-coordinated mechanism.

It is felt that people know what to do, how to do it, they have everything, they effectively use the existing equipment, equipment, and means.

You can just see from the outside how it's all set up. And severe patients, care for them is visible, three specialists work around the bed at once. People who are on the mend-a completely different life begins.

It's all largely thanks to You. Because sometimes, as I know from my own experience, you need to be able to organize your work. You did it.

This is a good example of how to organize this kind of work," Vladimir Putin said.

МОЛНИЯ: в Москве и Подмосковье вводится особый режим

Well, it's come to us.

LIGHTNING: a special regime is being introduced in Moscow and the Moscow region
29.03.20 - 20: 27
"Moscow is under quarantine from tomorrow. Home self-isolation regime is introduced for all residents of Moscow, regardless of age, " - said the mayor of the city Sergei Sobyanin.

The press service of the mayor's office published the following text:

"The decisions taken by the President and the Government of Russia, the government of Moscow, have had a huge effect on reducing direct contacts of residents in order to prevent the spread of COVID-2019. Traffic in the city has decreased by two-thirds. And this is very good. Although it is obvious that not everyone heard us.

Nevertheless, the extremely negative turn of events that we see in the largest cities of Europe and the United States causes great concern for the lives and health of our citizens.

All countries are struggling to slow growth dynamics in the number of diseases, do the so-called aliasing, to the number of severe patients increased gradually, and that the health system is managed. This is why restrictions on social contacts, movement of citizens, self-isolation, and so on are adopted.

Today I signed a decree on additional measures to prevent the large-scale and rapid spread of COVID-2019.

1. Starting tomorrow, the home self-isolation regime will be introduced for all residents of Moscow, regardless of age.

Leave the apartment is allowed only in the following cases:

- requests for emergency (urgent) medical care and other direct threats to life and health;
— trips to work if you have to go to work;
— making purchases at the nearest working store or pharmacy;
- walking Pets at a distance not exceeding 100 meters from the place of residence (stay);
- the need to take out household garbage.

And in the next few days — after technical and organizational measures are taken-you will be able to leave if you have a special pass issued in accordance with the procedure established by the government of Moscow.

Within the next week, a smart system will be deployed to monitor compliance with the home regime and the established rules for the movement of citizens. Gradually, but steadily, we will tighten the necessary control in this situation.

At the same time, home mode does not restrict the rights of citizens to come to the city or leave Moscow. It's just that you can't move around the city without a good reason.

2. While on the streets, in shops, on transport and in other public places, citizens are required to observe a social distance from other people of at least 1.5 meters (social distance). The only exception is taxi rides.

Stores, pharmacies, and any other organizations where people are located or work are required to maintain a social distance, including putting special markings and setting a regime for admitting and staying in buildings and on the surrounding territory.

In addition, the decree introduces the following additional measures to ensure compliance with social distance and social support for Muscovites in high-alert conditions.

3. Muscovites with a mild form of COVID-2019 are treated under the supervision of doctors at home.

They will receive free antiviral medications as prescribed by their doctors. Also, as a preventive measure, doctors and other specialists involved in countering the spread of a new coronavirus infection will receive free antiviral drugs.

Delivery of free medicines will be carried out by ambulance, clinic staff or volunteers.

4. In order for citizens not to lose money on their travel tickets, I decided to extend the validity of travel tickets for 9 days for passengers who meet the requirements of home mode and from March 28 to April 5 this year will not make a single trip on public transport.

Previously suspended student and school travel cards will be extended for a month or more from the end of the high-alert period.

5. It is obvious that in the current difficult situation, unfortunately, many Muscovites will lose their jobs. A special set of support measures will be developed to help them.

As a first step, a regional compensation payment for the unemployed is being introduced. The total amount of unemployment benefits (scholarships) and the new payment will be 19,500 rubles per month.

The payment will be set automatically, without any statements.

The measures being introduced today are absolutely necessary. But the effectiveness of these measures to contain the speed of infection depends on the behavior of each of us.

Take care of yourself and your neighbors. Please stay at home, " Sobyanin said.

Similar measures were taken in the Moscow region — residents should not leave their homes from Monday. Exceptions: requests for emergency medical assistance, direct threat to life and health, said Oberstar.

We would like to note that the decree of Sergei Sobyanin does not yet provide for restrictions on the movement of personal and official, special and public vehicles.

Patriarch Kirill has said he would use the drive to pray for the end of the coronavirus outbreak and appealed to Russians to respect and follow restrictions introduced by the authorities to stem the contagion, Interfax news agency reported.

Moscow, the epicentre of Russia’s coronavirus outbreak, has been in lockdown since Monday and many regions across the country have since imposed similar measures.

Prague to remove statue of Soviet marshal who led Red Army forces

A district assembly in Prague voted on Thursday to remove a statue of a Soviet World War Two marshal and replace it with a more general memorial following a row that has drawn in the Czech president and Russian authorities.
Начало темы было шизофреническое, продолжение попросту трусливое (напомню, что памятник снесли все-таки 04.04.20, под коронавирусными ограничениями, чтоб никто не мог собраться), а теперь окончание совсем уж параноидальное.

"A dangerous Russian has arrived in Prague": officials who initiated the demolition of the monument to Konev were given protection
23.04.2020 - 19:00
The initiator of the demolition of the monument to Soviet Marshal Ivan Konev in Prague was allocated a police guard because of "threats from Russia".

According to the Czech newspaper Respekt, we are talking about the mayor of the city Zdenek Gryba, as well as the headmen of two districts Ondrzej Kolarz and Pavel Novotny.

It is noted that the reason for the allocation of protection to them was, in particular, the statement of Russian defense Minister Sergei Shoigu that they allegedly "should bear responsibility" for the demolition of the monument to Konev in accordance with Russian law.

According to the source of the publication, the Czech security services also tracked the arrival in Prague of a Russian citizen who may pose a danger to officials accused by Moscow of "vandalism".

In addition, a group of Russian intelligence officers was seen moving to Europe.

Recall that the monument to Marshal Konev in Prague was demolished on April 4.

While Russia has indefinitely postponed its annual Victory Day celebrations due to the coronavirus pandemic, plans to open the Armed Forces Cathedral on May 9 are still on.

Russia’s New Military Mega-Church to Feature Putin, Stalin, Crimea Mosaics

27 April 2020 - The walls of Russia’s new Orthodox cathedral dedicated to the Armed Forces will be decorated with the faces of President Vladimir Putin, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Soviet leader Josef Stalin, the MBKh News website reported Friday.
The 95-meter Armed Forces cathedral, a symbol of close defense-church ties in Russia, is expected to open on May 9 — the 75th anniversary of the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II — at a sprawling military-themed park near Moscow. Once completed, the building will become one of the tallest Orthodox churches in the world.

One of the cathedral’s mosaics shows Putin and Shoigu flanked by prominent politicians including Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko and State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin as well as security officials like FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov and the head of the Army’s General staff Valery Gerasimov.

Another depicts the World War II Victory Day parade of 1945 on Red Square, with Stalin’s portrait held above a crowd of Soviet soldiers, photos published by MBKh News showed.

Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea from Ukraine is also celebrated, with one mosaic fragment depicting a group of women with a sign that reads “our Crimea” held aloft behind them.

Following MBKh News’ report, the Russian Orthodox Church confirmed that the cathedral’s interior will depict Stalin and of the Crimean annexation, calling the depictions “appropriate.”

“[The Church’s council on art] considers these images to be absolutely appropriate, reflecting historical truth from which pages cannot be torn out arbitrarily,” Archpriest Leonid Kalinin, the chair of the Russian Orthodox Church’s council on art, architecture and restoration, told the state-run TASS news agency.

Stalin’s image within Russia has been gradually rehabilitated in the 2000s from that of a bloody autocrat to an “outstanding leader.” Today, his approval rating among Russians is at historic highs.

Dozens of Western countries targeted Russia with economic sanctions over its annexation of the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine in 2014 following an unrecognized referendum.

According to the Resurrection Foundation which oversees donations to the Armed Forces cathedral, the public has donated more than 3.6 billion rubles ($41 million) toward the cathedral’s construction.

The interior of the cathedral.

It will open on 9 May, the 75th anniversary of Nazi Germany’s surrender in WWII.

Patron saint of strategic missiles

Four side chapels are dedicated to patron saints of branches of the Russian armed forces, including Saint Ilia of the aerospace forces, Saint Barbara of the strategic missile forces and Saint Alexander Nevsky of the land forces.

Symbolic design elements include a dome with a diameter of 19.45m, a reference to the final year of WWII, known in Russia as the Great Patriotic War, and a “road of memory” that will have 1,418 steps forged from Wehrmacht equipment, one for each day the Soviet Union fought in the war.

The cathedral was part-funded by donations from the public amounting to $41m, according to a foundation that organized public donations to the project, reports The Moscow Times.

President Putin himself is reported to have paid for an Orthodox icon.

Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, who first proposed the cathedral, reportedly ordered that “every square metre” be symbolic.

Russia’s “Spiritual Army”

There will also be a multimedia centre dedicated to the “Russian Spiritual Army”, designed to immerse visitors in famous episodes from Russia’s military history.

Visitors will experience sitting in the cockpit of a fighter plane, and witness, by virtual reality, the “battle on the ice” of Lake Peipus, fought by Alexander Nevsky against the Teutonic Knights in 1242.

Alongside the cathedral will be a school for military priests and the institute of the Sisters of Charity nursing order.

The cathedral's domes are dedicated to the patron saints of each branch of the armed force.

Russian actor and Director Nikita Mikhalkov addressed the channel " Russia 24 "on the YouTube channel of his author's program" Besogon TV", expressing regret for the decision to withdraw from the air a new edition of his program, in which he spoke about the desire of billionaire and philanthropist Bill Gates to chip all the people of the planet.

According to Mikhalkov, the decision to remove the issue from the air means that there is someone "untouchable", and that "no one needs the truth". "I am sorry that one of the few programs, by the way, with a huge rating, in which we want to calmly and seriously ask questions and look for an answer together, will disappear from the channel," Mikhalkov said, complaining about censorship.

The Director noted that he does not know whether his author's program will continue to be broadcast on the TV channel: "I do not know whether we will continue this and where, if we will." Mikhalkov also noted that his transfer caused "hysterical fear".

Earlier, the TV channel "Russia 24" decided to remove from the air a new edition of the author's program Nikita Mikhalkov "Besogontv" called " who has the state in their pocket?", which premiered on may 1. This was reported by the TASS news Agency with reference to the Director's press service.

The destroyers "porter", "Donald cook", "Franklin Roosevelt" of the US Navy and the frigate "Kent" of the British Navy on the morning of may 4 were in the waters of the Barents sea.

It is emphasized that their purpose is to conduct security operations. Moreover, NATO notified the Russian Ministry of defense of the ship's maneuvers on may 1.

Senator Alexey Pushkov, commenting on the actions of NATO, called them meaningless.

""A couple of months of idleness-and finally! Us and British warships entered the Barents sea, closer to the borders of Russia. Norway refused to participate in the exercise, considering it unnecessary and dangerous, " he wrote on Twitter.

"In the context of a pandemic, NATO only re-emphasizes its senselessness," the Senator said.

MOSCOW, May 9m 2020 - Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated all veterans of the Soviet Union’s 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War and all Russians on Victory Day. He laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall and addressed Russian citizens from the tribune installed near the Eternal Flame.

"Dear veterans, dear friends! From the whole of my heart, I congratulate you on Victory Day. This day is our most important and most cherished holiday. We always celebrate it solemnly across the nation, all together. Victory Day will always have a tremendous spiritual and moral significance and be a sacred date for us," the Russian leader stressed.

The head of state emphasized that "it is our memory and pride, the history of our country and of every family. It is a part of our souls, passed on to us by our parents and grandparents."

On this day, the descendants of the generation of victors "strongly feel the magnitude of their fates as we remember those who are no longer with us and look lovingly at their photographs of different years and wish our veterans a long life," Putin noted.

"They did so much for our Motherland that it is impossible to measure or repay. They saved our country and the future generations; they liberated Europe, protected peace, restored cities and villages and achieved enormous success," the Russian leader stressed.

"We pay tribute and endlessly honor the monumental and selfless heroism of the Soviet people, people of different ethnicities who stood shoulder to shoulder with each other in combat and on the home front," Putin said.

Their courage, unity, dignity and truly unfaltering willpower are timeless, the Russian leader stressed.

This place by the Kremlin Wall is sacred to all of Russians. The Eternal Flame burns here night and day in tribute to those who fell during the Great Patriotic War, to the heroes lying in unknown mass graves near Moscow and Smolensk, Stalingrad and Kursk, Sevastopol and Minsk, Kiev and Riga, Berlin and Vienna, at the Pulkovo Heights, and on the banks of the Neva, the Dnieper, the Danube, the Vistula and the Oder, the Russian leader recalled.

"Millions of those who fell did not live to see the Victory they dreamed of, believing that they would prevail over the enemy and return home. This is what they fought for to their last breath. They sacrificed their lives so that we, our children and grandchildren, and those who are yet to be born live in a world saved and preserved by the Soviet soldier," Putin said.

The Russian leader observed a minute of silence in their memory, suggesting that all Russians bow their heads "in tribute to those who did not return from the war, commemorating our sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, grandfathers, great grandfathers, husbands, wives, brothers and sisters, comrades in arms, relatives and friends."

MOSCOW, May 9, 2020 - A parade formation of 75 helicopters and aircraft flew over Moscow’s Red Square to mark the 75th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s Victory over Nazi Germany in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War, TASS reported from the scene.

Traditionally, the air parade started with the flyover of helicopters over Red Square, including the world’s largest Mi-26 military transport rotorcraft, Mi-8AMTSh multirole gunships, Mi-35M transport/attack helicopters, Ka-52 ‘Alligator’ reconnaissance/strike helicopters and the Mi-28N ‘Night Hunter’ helicopter of Russia’s Berkuts sole helicopter aerobatic team.

The flyover of helicopters was followed by an A-50U long-range radar surveillance aircraft, three Il-76MD military transport planes and a trio of Tu-95MS long-range bombers. After that, four Tu-22M3 bombers led by a Tu-160 strategic aircraft appeared in the skies over Moscow’s Red Square. Following that, an Il-78 aerial refueling tanker flew over Red Square together with a Tu-160 strategic bomber imitating mid-air refueling.

They were followed by a quartet of MiG-29SMT multirole frontline fighters and a quartet of Su-24M frontline bombers.

Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, Russian Knights and Swifts aerobatic teams
After that, four MiG-31K interceptor-fighters carrying Kinzhal air-launched hypersonic missiles appeared in the skies over Moscow together with a wing of four fifth-generation Su-57 multirole fighter jets. Two MiG-31K fighters outfitted with Kinzhal hypersonic missiles were the main attraction of the parade’s air component back in 2018. These airborne platforms have been on combat duty in the Russian Army since 2017. A Kinzhal hypersonic missile is capable of flying at over ten times the speed of sound and has an operating range of up to 2,000 km.

After that, "a tactical air wing" of ten aircraft flew over Moscow’s Red Square. The tactical group included Su-34 bombers, Su-30SM and Su-35S fighters.

They were followed by the world’s renowned Russian Knights and Swifts aerobatic teams. The crews of the aerobatic teams flying five Su-30SM and four MiG-29 fighters performed the Cuban Diamond stunt at a speed of about 550 km/h.

The air parade was concluded by six Su-25 attack aircraft. They exhausted special fumes in the colors of the Russian national flag.

The aircraft flew over Moscow’s Red Square at altitudes of 300 meters to 500 meters and at a speed of 500 km/h while the flyover of helicopters took place at an altitude of about 150 meters and at a speed of 200 km/h. Eight aerodromes in the Moscow, Lipetsk, Tver, Ivanovo, Saratov and Kaluga Regions were involved in the flights of aircraft and helicopters.

Russia should not be silent to belittling of USSR’s role in WWII - ambassador
WASHINGTON, May 9, 2020 - The misinformation campaign unleashed in a number of countries in order to belittle the role of the Soviet Union in the victory over Nazism is unacceptable, and the Russian side should not be silent in response, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov told reporters on Saturday.

"The unleashed misinformation campaign in a number of countries and, unfortunately, in the United States, when they try to belittle the role of the Soviet Union or even, moreover, to say that the Soviet Union has started World War II, is simply unacceptable. I can’t even imagine how people can speak such blasphemous words today, knowing that the Soviets lost 27 million people," he said.

"I believe that we should not stay silent. We should talk about it, but speak calmly, reasonably, try to convey to ordinary Americans, to ordinary people in Europe and all over the world, that it was Soviet soldiers who liberated Europe, they defended the independence of Europe and the Soviet Union, and no one will ever make us forget those times, and no one will ever be able to shake our confidence that the most important thing is to be together in the fight against new challenges and threats. Today it is more important than ever," Antonov added.

It is truly a work of beautiful art. It is sad to see that the senseless wars continue.

I could not help but think of something the Cs said about crime and wars.

Session 7 November 1994:
Q: (L) Is putting a criminal to death the equivalent of reducing society to the level of the criminal?

A: You are all put to death.

Q: (L) What do you mean?

A: In one way or another.

Q: (L) Well, is there any negative karma on society, the judge, the jury, the executioner, if a criminal is brought to trial, found guilty of a heinous crime and then put to death?

A: What about war? What is better? This is open because all are murderers and suicides. It is the supreme lesson you all must learn before you can graduate to ethereal existence. Your thinking is too simplified.

Q: (L) Is there ever a situation where execution helps relieve the criminal of some of his karma that may be caused by the commission of the crime for which he is being executed?

A: No.

Q: (L) Is it better to take a criminal, such as Dahmer, and have all of society support and take care of him?

A: These are all past issues. Will be resolved soon.

This is very inspiring.

As for the new temple, I want to say that for me it is still a kind of modern. I'm not saying it's bad or good, but rather good that such beautiful things are being done, but I don't associate it with the Church, with the Orthodox Church, rather a beautiful thematic Museum with a religious bias. I don't know how much images can convey the difference, but here are a couple of links. See who is interested in what the best Orthodox churches look like.
