Mind-Blowing AI Image Generator - Give Visual Representation to C's Concepts?

Well, I find that all the pictures so far are somewhat grim and gloomy. With words like "knowledge is light the infinite spark of forever" one could have expect something more luminous for example. Don't know if it has been programmed this way, but it strikes me.

This technology is nothing but a continuation of a bad trend that has been going on since the 19th century, and some people seem to get carried away by what it is supposedly able to accomplish.
Keep in mind what happened when the camera was first introduced. People got taken in because they thought they were now able to reproduce what took Renaissance artists years to learn and paint, all with the click of a button
Yes and no, so yes... photography did not replace renaissance artistry, nor will it ever. But I don't think that is necessarily the sign of a bad trend per se.

Cameras, like this AI, is merely a tool, and it could be used for whatever purposes, the tool itself can't create what a living being could, but it is also true that it creates things that some living being couldn't. So, I don't think it's so black and white. I personally do not feel a human reaching out to me in these pictures, but I will allow for the pictures being pretty. I do not think this is useless, but I also realize that it's not the work of an artist pouring his/her being into it. But I also don't think that most brush makers or canvas makers pour their being into their products.

That doesn't mean that these tools couldn't evolve, through human intervention, into something useful for the expression of whatever humanity can channel into existence. Back to the camera, it wasn't going to replace paintings, but it got to the point where it became the tool to create cinema, accompanied by many other tools, it turned into its own art form.

To give one other example, I think a lot of people would consider video games a waste of time, a tool for programming and a way to abandon reality, and sure.. but some have also reached a point where so much creativity is used in their inception that they have reached a point of pieces of art.

Those pieces of art can become an obsession where one could attempt to escape reality through them, but at that point it's a human choice to use a creation for a specific purpose, which says more about the human than the vehicle. Same goes for things like alcohol, porn, shopping, food etc. Anything that a person may use to ignore themselves.

And so, I agree with you in principle, and while I do realize that there are deeper implications in terms of the way society is going, I also do not think it's that terrible. The thing with those who may see these things as a way to change humanity, is that they're bound by their own wishful thinking. And I do believe that it's their thinking that a tool equals a choice, and despite the terrible damage that has been perpetrated on humanity, nature tends to find its way around their machinations.

And a part of me finds joy in that thought.

I get the feeling that this is similar to the Fall, where it was described, as an acceptance of 'limitation of knowledge'. Which I think, could also mean, accepting of a false knowledge. False knowledge for the purpose of distracting one from real knowledge that is freely given. AI will be, IMO, presented as something wonderful, and may dazzle, but in the end, will only be given, and used for the age old purpose of power and control. Just my 2 cents...

If, as the C's have said, computers can/will eventually develop to where they can attract(?) or develop a soul(?) - can't find the session I have in mind right now, though there was this from the latest one:

(Rancho Relaxo) Is Google AI really sentient?

A: Getting there.

Q: (Joe) Does 'sentient' in that sense mean that it develops some kind of a rudimentary soul imprint for something else to use it?

A: Yes

Q: (Joe) Something with a rudimentary soul imprint isn't gonna be able to do very much.

(L) But it can be used by something else.

..what's to say their sentience will even be recognisable to us as sentience? It might appear in a totally unexpected way/place.. If we're 3rd density and animals are 2nd density, I wonder which density a conscious AI would be? If 4th density battles can appear to us in the form of weather (another thing the C's said), then if there was a sentient AI, would it even "know" we're talking to it? Maybe the lines of text we input would be perceived by the AI as something more like the environment it's inhabiting, rather than a communication from other sentient beings.. and its answers (or generated images or whatever output) could be the equivalent of it moving its leg muscles as it walks through a landscape... its actual thoughts might be of a different order and unrecognisable to us as thoughts...

(gotten away from the exact topic of the thread a bit but this is just where my thoughts went.... and, the bit at the end of the quote about *something else to use it* seems like the most important bit...)

I gave up. Will try it when it will be more simple.

I think that its not bad. Just like everything, it depends on the use. Could be for good or for the bad.

I must notice that all the while its computer made, thats still a human creation, because it must draw images, paterns, words and the whole ideas from people. They are already made, computer just aranges them with the help of some alghoritm. And that dark and gloomy style really is the trend in the last couple of years.

So, I ask, how much "real human" artist are doing they art in the same manner? How much is their own creation and how much they just repeating the trend?

Here, some similar art from human artists:

My son showed me this program on Discord this morning, and I just paid for a month's subscription on their website to check it out. It's been lots of fun. I keep telling my kids that it's not AI, but a sophisticated computer program. I guess AI sounds cooler though. Here's one I did that I particularly like.

At the moment, it's kind of annoying using on Discord because so many people are making pictures, they kind of get buried. But their website keeps track of yours when you pay for a subscription: https://www.midjourney.com/app/

If you're paying for a subscription, the issue with Discord can be solved by directly messaging the "Midjourney Bot" in any of the Public Rooms. That will open a Room just for you so your images aren't lost among the Public Room submissions. Hope that helps!

Also, really like the image!

Ya, I can definitely see what you're saying. And after some consideration this could function as a great tool to get initial conceptual images to use as a base to work from - to match the inner vision as you stated. It literally spits out these wild images in seconds. Still trips me out.

Indeed. I had the idea to take what the C's said word for word from some of the transcripts (the orion federation one for example) and it seems to be able to reproduce strikingly accurate representations. At least what one could envision.

After seeing the "orion federation", I began to wonder if this system could be tricked into revealing some things if the right input was utilized.

Despite the title of the video that illustrates how to use this program, it wasn't my intention to infer this was some type of replacement for art.

That should be "imply." To infer is to catch a meaning that someone else has implied. Just think about it as a ball: you pitch it and you imply; you catch it and you infer.

That was my initial thinking and reasoning for using direct quotes from the C's.

Thank you for the correction and clarification. 👍

Is there a way to try this without the Discord crap?
Midjourney, not. But you can join the waitlist to use the DALL-E 2 on the OpenAI website. When they approve your account, you will get 50 free credits to use the first month and 15 free credits every month after that.

Midjourney and DALL-E 2 are similar but from what I've seen so far, DALL-E 2 is better in realistic prompts while Midjourney wins in abstract concepts.

Was thinking along the same lines. Maybe AI produces mainly grim illustrations because this is what the majority of the users wanted from it so far? For example, people decide which version out of 4 generated they want to upscale, and the AI may use this as a feedback for what is preferred.

I will try and see what I can do, if anyone has suggestions on what inputs to use I am happy to put them in and see what comes up.

Yes, also, with every image (you can rate your own as well all others) you can tell the AI (by using the emoji's) whether you liked the image or not, which gives it feedback as to what the users want.

MJ is not good at all with limbs and faces, but that's fine for me as I use my photography and photoshop skills to make images in conjunction with the AI images. There are also other free tools online to help with faces and upscaling images if you are not into photoshop.

It's all in the input prompt, the AI doesn't really understand "english" per se, so you have to play around with how you input things, and what weight you give the elements, usually the first images it comes up with aren't the greatest, you have to refine and tell it to make more variations along the lines of one of the images it gives you that you like or is the closest to what you want. You can also tell it to make the image in the style of (insert artist) and it will give you something with the "vibe" of that artist. some examples below from the user gallery for less gloomy images

I was reading the book The World of TC Lethbridge yesterday and he had some interesting observations while attempting to dowse art, or more accurately his sketches.

So there’s more information placed into those sketches simply from him drawing them than can be seen with our 5 senses. He was able to extract extra information via dowsing. Now with copies of his sketches everything was gone, essentially the copy was a blank slate. I doubt this AI generated art has any essence of the original creator.

And this obviously places a greater importance on art in general and makes us think more about what types of art we surround ourselves with. One wonders what type of information could be dowsed from say a Dali painting.

So when you purchase art you are surrounding yourself with the essence of that artist, this could be a sort of shield or perhaps an opening, similar to the crystals. Regardless my take away was that this type of digital art might be dead in a spiritual sense.

As an interesting side note, as an artist myself (mainly music, photography and film making) I have always felt, especially with the music, that it's my way of channeling. It's like the ideas and melodies are coming through me from DCM or higher powers (Thors pantheon etc) and I add my own life experiences and energy to it. Is it possible that the same could be done through AI at some stage when it becomes more "aware"?
