The Most Dangerous Idea in the World

June 3, 2005: The other day we received an email from Parabola Magazine rejecting our proposed paid advertisement for my book The Secret History of the World. Seems it didn't fit their criteria for an acceptable publication. The mag had been suggested to us by a friend as a potential venue for our advertising, and I really wasn't familiar with it, but we designed an ad and sent it off, and shortly thereafter, the refusal came. Well, I didn't particularly mind since I thought it was a bit pricey for the size of the ad and the circulation of the publication. Besides, we have several ads in various media and we are already dancing as fast as we can to keep up with orders. BUT, the refusal did make me curious since, reading the blurbs on their website certainly would suggest that the book would be right up their alley, so to say.

I thumbed through the sample copy sent for our edification just to see exactly what kinds of advertising that Parabola does consider to be "acceptable". On the inside front cover, we see an ad for Pacifica Graduate Institute where you can study Depth Psychology. Sounds okay to me. After all, it could be said that a "Fourth Way" approach to reality is a form of Depth Psychology, and that is certainly what the Quantum Future School is interested in exploring.

Further on, page 101, there is a full page advertisement for "A New America: An Awakened Future on our horizon." The Website is Positive Future Consulting. A brief review of this Website indicates that it is wishful thinking at best, disinfo at worst.

Then, there is an advertisement for a couple of books published by Llewellyn, a publisher famous for all kinds of "strange" books including Crone's Book of Charms & Spells and Kundalini for Beginners. In Parabola, they are advertising "A well-rounded look at the Kabbalah... A careful examination of Jesus and his cultural environment... comprehensive depiction of the Tree of Life..." etc. Sheesh.

Next we note that the Swedenborg Foundation checks in with an ad for a book about the Eighteenth Century Counterculture, including Swedenborg and Mesmer...

Naropa University in Boulder advertises its programs in religious studies (Private, nonprofit liberal arts college in Boulder, Colorado characterized by its unique Buddhist educational heritage).

Penguin books advertises The History of the War Between Monotheism and Polytheism, and Renewing Judaism, and Whose Bible is It? (bringing Christians and Jews together).

Then there is a Gurdjieff video put out by Parabola, several Jungian groups are advertised, The Rosicrucian Order (naturally) checks in, the Rudolf Steiner Institute, The Golden Sufi Center, Buddhists, Gnostic Philosophy, an ad for "an opportunity to study Eastern Philosophy," a Quaker Center, The Celebrant USA Foundation (dedicated to promoting the use of ceremony to mark rites of passages), more Sufi stuff by Parabola, The Theosophy Company, a store specializing in Gurdjieff and the Fourth Way, and so on and on.

So far, since The Secret History of the World deals with most of these issues, (though perhaps, not in the way Parabola does), you would think that there is absolutely no reason to reject the advertisement.

Finally, on the inside back page, there is an advertisement for "distance learning," otherwise known as getting degrees without ever showing up for classes. Well, shoot! I could get myself one of those Ph.D's and then Parabola might accept an ad for my book!

But I don't think that my lack of academic credentials is the problem. After all, my husband is one of the world's experts on Hyperdimensional math and physics, and a lot of what is in the book is based on ideas we have come to in our many discussions. What is more, I participate in a lot of exchanges on these subjects with experts whose most interesting ideas never see print because they know well the "rules" of the Scientific Thought Police. (See the photo album for the recent Clifford Algebra Conference in Toulouse that Ark helped to organize, and where he gave a plenary lecture. The very last photo shows me strolling with Waldyr Rodrigues, another expert in hyperdimensional and superluminal physics. One day, perhaps, he will allow me to publish the subjects of our discussions.) See also the website of Nobel Prize Winner, Brian Josephson. and The Center for Fundamental and Anomalies Research

The point is, this little incident only highlights the very unusual position we hold here at QFG: for some reason, our little Experiment here in Superluminal Communication is just - well, dangerous.

And it is not just dangerous to the so-called New Age community that reads Parabola.

I'm not saying this just because of Parabola, though it is a useful platform from which to launch this discussion. The fact is, we have noticed, over the past three years of our "political activism," that our Website is "off limits" to many other political activists who hold the same views we espouse. This is usually not directly declared, but it is made obvious by "omission." We've published a few scoops that, one would think, should be shouted from the housetops by every alternative news site on the web. But they aren't. Oh, yes, in a couple of cases an enthusiastic newbie grabbed one of our articles and started propagating it, and others picked it up, but we noticed that they republished it either without attribution or a link back to our site, and in some cases, actually misspelled or incorrectly named the source. These were sites that usually don't make those kinds of mistakes. But, in our case, they did. Curious. (This is not always true, but is true often enough that we have taken note of it.)

Another example, our Pentagon Strike video is conspicuous by its absence from a host of websites that, ostensibly, promote the exact same views that we hold, politically speaking. This is curious mainly because the darn thing is so wildly popular that it still, 8 months after release, attracts 20 to 30 thousand visitors EVERY DAY, most of whom download and save it to send to their family and friends! It has been translated into 9 languages, and we get letters every day from viewers who visit our Website as a result of this little video. Seems that it is propagating without the help of other websites. (And I should also note here that the book orders we get from the video keep us plenty busy, so don't get the idea that I am complaining here, I'm just noticing things and speculating.)

We noticed that it appeared on a couple of alternative sites for about a day or two after it was released, but as soon as they had time to notice that there was a link in the video itself to our Website, the Video was pulled, or "archived," out of sight. It didn't matter to the people, however, because by now, the video has been seen by over 300 million people and counting. We have yet to encounter a group anywhere in any social context, in which there is not someone present who has seen the Pentagon Strike video.

It is also interesting that the Pentagon Strike video was one of the first "alternative news site" productions that actually attracted the concerted attention of the Mainstream Media. Because of the "viral" way it was spreading, it was apparently seen as something of a threat and the Washington Post was sent to do "damage control" and shortly thereafter, we noted, a big rush to discredit the "no Boeing at the Pentagon" theory was launched on the Internet AND in the mainstream media. We sure must have stepped on a sore toe!

It's rather ironic that our work, shunned by so many other "alternative news" sites, was what actually baited the bear out of his lair. You would think that those individuals and groups of individuals whose ideas are so similar to our own on that subject would want to capitalize on this kind of effectiveness in communication vis a vis masses of people. We aren't stingy. We share, we link, we are careful to make attributions and give credit where it is due. And we most definitely thing that more unity is needed if anything positive is ever going to happen.

At one point, in late 2002, when I could see clearly what Bush was up to, and I knew that a unified front and a clever strategy was essential if anything was to be done to stop the warmongering, I wrote to a whole slew of "alternative researchers" asking if it would be possible to arrange a quick meeting, a conference, to discuss issues, to critically examine the evidence so as to be able to agree on major points, and to formulate a systematic approach to the problems facing our world.

I did not receive a single reply.

I tried again about a year ago, suggesting that we have now seen that a systematic, unified approach is even more necessary, and received only TWO replies. One of them suggested that the answer to all the problems was to join a multilevel marketing outfit!

In January of this year, we received a visit from a delegate of Thierry Meyssan of "La Pentagate" fame. They were so impressed with our Pentagon Strike video that they wanted to invite us to join forces. (They at least recognized the potential of the "viral" marketing idea and realized the necessity for a united front). But, there was a condition: we had to disassociate ourselves from talking about UFOs and hyperdimensional realities!

We declined. We call it as we see it and we aren't for sale.

Notice that the Jeff Rense site, which talks freely about all of the subjects we cover, including UFOs and strange phenomena, is liberally referenced and linked to by many "alternative news" sites.

But not Cassiopaea. Cassiopaea is too dangerous.

What's the difference? What do we talk about that Rense doesn't?

Well, there are two things that spring to mind: First of all, we reference everything from the hypothesized "hyperdimensional" point of view which includes Time Loops; and secondly, we actually dare to experiment with communicating with said realms of existence, (which is not to say that we believe anything about said communication, as I will explain further on), and this generally has resulted in a rather negative view of religion, including the New Age variations.

I noticed the other day that Thierry Meyssan has joined up with Jimmy Walter for a "Re-Open 9/11 European Tour." As the article says: "Joining them from the US are Twin Towers hero William Rodriguez, filmmaker Penny Little, lawyer Philip Berg (who is suing the Bush administration under the RICO statute), Kennedy assassination author Lisa Pease, 9/11 victim Rachel Hughes, and writers Chris Bollyn, Eric Hufschmidt, and Webster Tarpley." We note that the total of attendees for TWO evenings in Amsterdam was stated to be 800 - that averages to 400 per evening; and the total for TWO evenings in Paris was stated to be 550 people, or 275 per evening. That's pretty poor turnout, if you ask me.

Nevertheless, Tarpley's article (we like Tarpley here at QFG and SoTT) informs us that Meyssan "compared French intellectuals who refuse to challenge Bush,s 9/11 lies to the members of a French anti-fascist committee of 1936 who refused to accept clear evidence that the burning of the Berlin Reichstag in 1933 had been a provocation organized by the Nazis themselves. It was only around 1960 that academics accepted the truth about the Reichstag fire."

Here's where it gets a bit irritating. You see, our "hyperdimensional perspective" on things, brought about by (shudder) "inspirational communication" with "ourselves in the future," indicated as early as 1995, ten years ago, that the events of Nazi Germany were a "trial run" for what is happening on the planet today. The C's aren't big on "predictions," because they emphasize that the "Future is Open" and depends on us to a great extent, but the theme of the Nazi trial run being the model of today's events has been one of the most consistent ideas throughout the experiment. In other words, we've been saying this for 10 years that it was going to happen and it's happening NOW exactly as it was described, (even if, at the time, we simply could NOT grok how it might actually manifest! Who would ever imagine that they would pull off something like 9-11?!), and that suggests that maybe a few other things the C's have mentioned might be on target as well and we ought to pay attention. After all, the kinds of folks that Parabola advertises - the whole "New Age Crowd" - never, ever, said such things as the C's have said, and Parabola continues, in the face of the Imperialist aims of the Bush Reich, to promote "A New America: An Awakened Future on our horizon." The evidence does not support this "pie in the sky" dream.

But anyway, here we are, frequently attacked by the New Age crowd, attacked by the standard religious cult crowds (Christian, Jewish and Muslim alike), reviled by the materialists, attacked by COINTELPRO gangs, considered "fringe" by the alternative news groups of various sorts, and all because of one, single idea: that hyperdimensional realities are REAL - they have a physical reality - and that they might be the "home" of the REAL Controllers of our World, and that it just might be possible to communcate across the dimensional barriers. I talk about this in my book, The Secret History of the World:

There is similarity between the two basic paths of fundamental research in modern theoretical physics, and the two realities we are considering: matter and consciousness. Just as in psi research there have been attempts to reconcile, or unify, matter and consciousness, the same has been true in advanced physics where although serious attempts have been made during the past two decades to find a Unified Theory that incorporates both a quantum approach ("matter") and the field approach ("consciousness"), no single theory which incorporates both has been successful as yet in either set of problems. Quantum mechanics deals primarily with the sub-microscopic world of elementary particles. It is based upon probabilities of events taking place non-deterministically, rather than a deterministically known state, which can be calculated using the classical equations of motion.

When you have an infinite number of possible states, any of which can be solutions within certain boundary conditions, you run into certain problems when you try to transfer these concepts to classical realities. The state vector is the collection of all possible pre-collapse states and represents the system in which the event exists in all states simultaneously. Once the event happens, or what is called "measurement" occurs, the system collapses the state vector into a single, probabilistically determined state. Until this collapse occurs, the state vector that has developed in time deterministically specifies the system collectively. This interpretation of quantum mechanics is known as the Copenhagen Interpretation and is dominant, with minor variations, in the quantum mechanics used today. It is characterized by a direct break with classical physics where a cause leads to an effect.

At the same time, field theory, (Einstein's general theory of relativity) plays the leading role when we are considering real world physical realities. Field theory seems to follow from the classical view of cause and effect and determinism. Classical mechanics deals with equations of motion that can be solved for specific events when initial conditions, such as position and velocity, or initial and final conditions, are known. So it is that the field represents a deterministic interrelation of mutually interacting forces between different events (i.e. particles), which can be found by substituting values into the field equations.

Both the field and quantum theories have special characteristics which are useful in physical theories of psi. However the same problems pop up in trying to combine quantum theory with (relativistic) field theory: no such system has yet been devised which can account for all phenomena.

At the present time, however, it seems that quantum field theory has been by far the most successful attempt at this endeavor. [...]

There are so many interpretations of quantum theory that may be relevant to psi and that may assist in gaining an understanding of how consciousness interacts with matter. Most of the new theories are based upon the introduction of a new level of duality in nature in that consciousness has a separate and distinct wave function from that of the normal wave function representing matter and physical reality in quantum theory, a sort of three wave system like biorhythms, where when all the lines cross, something happens.

The issue I would like to emphasize here is that we desperately need a scientifically acceptable conceptual framework within which Parapsychological phenomena make sense as part of nature and human life in its entirety. [...]

In considering the general theory of relativity, science usually utilizes a four-dimensional space-time continuum. In classical general relativity, the metrical properties of the continuum are intrinsic to the continuum, but a fifth dimension in which our normally sensed space-time is embedded can also be used to account for the curvature and properties of physical space. In the space-time continuum, one can say that all parts of the four-dimensional world exist simultaneously, in the sense of a mathematical formalism, and this would naturally lead to a complete collapse of the philosophical ideas of causality.

However, many scientists who work with these ideas do not think that this continuum is 'real' in a physical sense, such that physical entities could move back and forth at will in and out of time as easily as changing direction in three-dimensional space. We, on the other hand, think that it is not only possible, but also extremely likely based upon certain observations.

In relativity theory, time intervals between events are not completely fixed relative to moving systems or frames of reference. This has led to some speculation that there may also be analogies between precognition and anomalies. However, "time dilation," the contraction of time intervals between moving reference frames, is too small to account for precognition and would still require any information transfer to travel faster than light, and the special theory of relativity, when narrowly interpreted, does not allow for physical travel backwards in time, but relegates this concept to an imaginary mathematical formalism.

Even though it is almost forbidden to question Einstein's restriction on superluminal travel, Einstein did, at one point, propose to consider the hyperdimensional world as "real." In 1938, with P. Bergmann, he wrote a paper entitled On a Generalization of Kaluza's Theory of Electricity:

So far, two fairly simple and natural attempts to connect gravitation and electricity by a unitary field theory have been made, one by Weyl, the other by Kaluza. Furthermore, there have been some attempts to represent Kaluza's theory formally so as to avoid the introduction of the fifth dimension of the physical continuum. The theory presented here differs from Kaluza's in one essential point; we ascribe physical reality to the fifth dimension whereas in Kaluza's theory this fifth dimension was introduced only in order to obtain new components of the metric tensor representing the electromagnetic field. [Einstein, A, Bergmann, P., Annals of Mathematics, Vol. 38, No. 3, July 1938.]

We believe that Einstein was following a path that was later to prove very fruitful. Einstein, however, was somewhat nervous about this idea, but he followed it anyway, writing in his paper:

If Kaluza's attempt is a real step forward, then it is because of the introduction of the five dimensional space. There have been many attempts to retain the essential formal results obtained by Kaluza without sacrificing the four-dimensional character of the physical space. This shows distinctly how vividly our physical intuition resists the introduction of the fifth dimension. But by considering and comparing all these attempts one must come to the conclusion that all these endeavors did not improve the situation. It seems impossible to formulate Kaluza's idea in a simple way without introducing the fifth dimension.

We have, therefore, to take the fifth dimension seriously although we are not encouraged to do so by plain experience. If, therefore, the space structure seems to force acceptance of the five dimensional space theory upon us we must ask whether it is sensible to assume the rigorous reducibility to four dimensional space. We believe that the answer should be "no," provided that it is possible to understand, in another way, the quasi-four dimensional character of the physical space by taking as a basis the five dimensional continuum and to simplify hereby the basic geometrical assumptions.[...]

The most essential point of our theory is the replacing of ...rigorous cylindricity by the assumption that space is closed (or periodic).[...]

Kaluza's five dimensional theory of the physical space provides a unitary representation of gravitation and electromagnetism. [...] It is much more satisfactory to introduce the fifth dimension not only formally, but to assign to it some physical meaning.[Einstein, A, Bergmann, P., Annals of Mathematics, Vol. 38, No. 3, July 1938.]

The reader should note that when considering field theory, it is necessary to differentiate between 1.) Pure field theory such as gravitation, and electrical and magnetic fields and 2.) Quantum field theory. Fields such as electromagnetic fields and gravitational fields are continuous and spatial while quantum fields are quantized, broken into discrete sections of particulate substance or energy. The basing of a theory of psi on a gravitational field rests partly on the fact that gravitation is not subject to the maximum velocity of light because it doesn't travel, but is structural. Evidence from Vasiliev and others suggests that psi is also independent of the velocity of light.

However, general relativity has obliged science to abandon the "action at a distance" idea, causing the 'distance force' to be abandoned, and has placed gravity under subjection to a maximum velocity. Nevertheless, Margenau has suggested that general relativity ought to be regarded as a 'formal' principle such as the Pauli Exclusion Principle. In this case, gravitation would be non-energetic and subject to no maximum velocity and would act as a guiding way to physical phenomena."[Forwald, Haakon, Mind, Matter and Gravitation: A Theoretical and Experimental Approach, Parapsychology Monographs, Number 11 (New York: Parapsychology Foundation 1969).]

These ideas have been adopted by many "alternative science" writers who have related them to buildings, energy fields, light beings, earth grids and all that - mostly nonsense - and it does, indeed, seem that there may be locations on the planet where one can "tap" a certain energy with greater or lesser ease. But the phenomenon that these ideas speaks to more directly is that of hyperdimensional realities wherein mental energies or consciousness energies are amplified and can be interactive with the environment. There may be a specific technology that suggests not only power for transport that is partly physical, partly "ethereal," that suggests communication that is also partly physical and partly ethereal, as well as powers of "manifestation" that might seem impossible to us in our present state of technology. All of these properties DO belong to hyperdimensional existence, and such a state of being has been reported for millennia as being the "realm of the gods."

That is the Most Dangerous Idea in the World.

Certainly, much work needs to be done on these ideas in order to be able to talk about specifics, but what I have written above should give the average reader a general idea that such things are being discussed among scientists, and it is not just a crazy "conspiracy theory." How many "extra dimensions" are there? Well, that is one of the things still under discussion.

The idea is, in more simple terms, that beyond our space and time, beyond the limitations of normal consciousness, exists a vaster reality, which can only be known or accessed with another, expanded consciousness. Even among some scientists who are interested in expanding our space-time structure, the idea that consciousness itself must be expanded is often overlooked. There are many instances cited of spontaneous "expansion of consciousness," and there are many claims from religious (including New Age religions) of methods and techniques to accomplish this, but in general, serious work on the idea in order to find out what really works, is rare.

What seems to be true is that every time in history that our worldview has expanded, it has been due to the fact that there is conflicting data that cannot be incorporated into the old model, and the model must be expanded to accommodate. Ignoring conflicting data is becoming harder to do nowadays because of the global communication network. In the past, it was a lot easier to suppress.

Einstein said that it takes only one contradictory fact to kill a scieentific theory. That means that if just one account of, say, UFOs that defy the "rules" of our accepted space-time framework, is true, if the "standard model" can't explain it, then we need another, broader, framework that CAN. And the same is true of the anomalies of history, of the fact that human beings do not seem to be advancing in consciousness at the same rate that they have advanced technologically.

There are three distinct levels of consciousness on Earth: sensation, simple consciousness and self-consciousness. [...] Each has its own frameowrk of space-time. Take a snal as an example of the first. It lives in a world of one dimension of space plus time. The other two dimensions of space all around it are translated, by its faculty of sensation, into one dimension of space or time.

But a higher animal like the dog, with a higher faculty and simple consciousness, mentally extracts from time another dimension of space and lives in a larger world of two dimensions of space plus time. Get the picture? Time is a collection of extra dimensions of space either not apprehended, or imperfectly apprehended; each level of consciousness sees them bit by bt, moving constantly past, fused with time. So it is with the dog and the third dimension. His simple consciousness translates the third dimension of space into either one of the other two, or time.

But we have a higher mental faculty still, self-consciousness. By virtue of it we've extracted yet another dimension of space from time... We live in a world of three dimensions of space plus time. The question is: is there still a higher faculty, one that can extract another dimension of space from our time? And if so, would our paranormal, in this expanded framework, then become the normal?

There is such a fourth level of concsiousness [...] It goes hand in hand with the apprehension of a fourth dimension of space extracted from time. A brief taste of this faculty is the mystical experience in which one's consciousness expands into and realizes a broader continuum of space and time. Lesser glimpses of the faculty, just a bit of it at any one time, are psychic intuitions such as telepathy, clairvoyance, and precognition. This higher faculty conceives in a fashion beyond sensation, simple - and self-consciousness - logic, concepts, and even language. ... And still other traces of this higher faculty are responsible for other kinds of psychic phenomena, such as psychokinesis, [etc]

Now what if a race of beings on another planet has acquired this faculty completely. They would be like gods to us, as far aboe us as we are above animals. They would live in a different, larger world of space-time. Using that extra dimension, they could perform feats that seem like magic to us, coming and going into and out of our space at will [...]

Finally, if our world is just part of a larger world, then each of us in turn must have a larger self that resides in that world. [...]

The point is this: there are no UFO phenomena per se, no psychic phenomena, no near-death phenomena, and no mystical phenomena. There is just a reality phenomenon. Our world is enveloped in a larger one, the workings of which are beyond our senses and level of consiousness, and so these workings when encountered are treated as paranormal. [...]

The history of Man shows that we have continually overstated our position in the universe, not only by underestimating its size, but also by regarding our location as its absolute focal point. It was at first a tremendous blow to our ego to accept that the Earth was not the center of the entire cosmos. What we must now accept is that Man is no more the center of the conscious or psychical world than he is of the physical world. [Extra-Dimensional Universe, John R. Violette, 2001, Hampton Roads, VA]

What is quite interesting about this is the fact that, over the past few years, we have been contacted by a growing number of academics, scientists - experts in their fields of math and physics and chemistry AND history - who thank us for having the courage to address these subjects, and - in some cases - for giving them the keys to make sense of their own work, (even if they cannot yet come out in public and say so!) In other words, the hypothesis does solve problems as a good hypothesis should.

On the subject of experts, the reader might like to take a look at a recent piece published on Rense about mathematician A. K. Dewdney's work on the subject of 9-11, and how he has now "baited the bear from its lair" as well. The article demonstrates that Prof. Dewdney is getting the same treatment we got from the Washington Post:

On Monday, May 23, 2005, FOX affiliate WSVN-TV sent Patrick Fraser, with only a BS in Journalism from UF-Gainsville, to tangle with Scientist Dr. A.K. Dewdney over the 9/11 Pentagon quagmire. Dr. Dewdney: "If we are right the implications are profound." Reporter: "Right or right off the wacko chart, common sense tells you its not likely. In fact common sense tells you its not only outrageous -- its ridiculous and one well known skeptic has another description for it -- laughable." [...]

Utilizing the Scientific Method, Dewdney has dealt a killing blow to the two lynchpins of the 9-11 attacks stating unequivocally:

1. The Pentagon was not struck by a large passenger aircraft.
2. Cellphone calls alleged to have been made by passengers were essentially impossible.

From our point of view, more scientists need to become interested in these problems, and we use every opportunity to press that objective. If the scientific community - those who are interested in truth and the future of our species, that is - can be brought together on this matter, then Thierry Meyssan and Jimmy Walters will have more substance to present to their audiences, and said audiences might become commensurably larger and broader. This highlights, again, the need for a serious unification of those seeking truth, and that truth must be sought without prejudice.

This brings us back to what seem to be prejudices against our own work, most of which relate to beliefs that have been imposed on our reality for millennia. Even if such as Thierry Meyssan do not subscribe to religious beliefs, he - and most human beings on this planet - are still influenced by the "cultural norms" that have been established in the context of those beliefs, including the opposing stance that there is no "deeper reality." Strange that monotheism - or reactions thereto - was actually the foundation for the materialist view of the universe. This view is explicated in the following remarks made by a well-known Anti-war essayist (which I have edited slightly to remove the personal context in which they were made):

Consciousness does not exist without the physical body. When the physical body goes, consciousness goes. All the rest - the souls, the aliens, the gods - are just phantasms constructed by your mind trying to avoid the fear of physical death. They don't really exist. The whole battle is right here. Because of all these fantasies, we've neglected reality. The whole battle is right here in front of us. It isn't somewhere else. Religions are all fiction. Men who claim to practice them are hypocrites; they only care about the money. That's the battle we have to win. If we focus on such fantasies, then we lose focus on reality. Because of all these fantasy stories, we're going to lose our future, and possibly our whole planet.

The problem is, IF hyperdimensional realities are important as is quite possible, then taking such a position might very well deprive the individual of the perspective necessary in order to know where and how the battle is actually being waged. If you do not know your enemy, you cannot execute a strategically successful defense. It's that simple.

But keep in mind, we are only hypothesizing here. We aren't saying that it is the "truth." It is certainly an idea that has, so far, been very useful in connecting dots and answering questions and explaining "the order of the universe." But all the problems are not solved, and much work still needs to be done.

Nevertheless, when considering these ideas as a "working hypothesis," what we see again and again, is that a really promising "warrior" in the fight for humanity gets "taken out" because they act within the "old model." Using the model can enhance our understanding of the possible true nature of the opposition, that it has resources and weapons at its disposal that supersede - and make obsolete - ordinary human machinations.

Our essayist above understands that religions are barriers, fences for human beings, and the cause of much human suffering. The question that should be asked is, but he never stops to WHY? With a little reflection, we can understand that religions - and the New Age variations - may very well be "strategic maneuvers" by hyperdimensional beings seeking to dominate humanity. Once having theorized this point, and thinking in terms of military strategy, one can go on to speculate about what is really being concealed by religion as well as how religion has been utilized to create the "opposite" stance of total rejection of religion. Jacques Vallee once remarked on this by pointing out that there are two ways to stop an idea: if you can't contain it, drive it so far and hard that, like a train with too much fire in the boiler, it runs off the track. This is standard operating procedure for disinformation.

And no, I am not talking about ephemeral "psychic" forces or demons or whatever. I am saying that without a working hypothesis of the hyperdimensional nature of the control system there does not seem to be any hope whatsoever of winning this war. Thinking in terms of military strategy, we come to understand that the greatest deception of all is the idea that there are no negative forces, though we should certainly take some care in determining exactly what those forces are, of what they are capable, and devise an effective strategy.

Religions, including the New Age variations as promoted by Parabola magazine, teach that putting one's attention on discovering the true nature of the opponent "gives them energy." This is true only if one focuses in this way with the intention of participation. However, a comprehensive understanding of these forces is absolutely necessary in order to know how to give them less energy. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Indeed, in one sense, the above essayist is exactly right: we DO have to concentrate on our reality, the HERE and NOW, because it is in the here and now that the FUTURE is FORGED. That is one thing that is made abundantly clear by our "inspirational" guides who tell us:

Life is religion. Life experiences reflect how one interacts with God. Those who are asleep are those of little faith in terms of their interaction with the creation. Some people think that the world exists for them to overcome or ignore or shut out. For those individuals, the worlds will cease. They will become exactly what they give to life. They will become merely a dream in the "past." People who pay strict attention to objective reality right and left, become the reality of the "Future."

Paying strict attention does not just mean "knowing," because knowledge is useless if it is not applied. But this oh, so important, message is completely obscured in the knee-jerk reactions that have been programmed into us by the "cultural norms" established by religions and their influence over our material reality. Far too much energy is devoted to the "afterlife," either the Christian version or the New Age version of "ascension" to some other world, realm, dimension, whatever.

The history of religion is a history of the descent of humanity into insanity. This has become even more marked in the technological era, an era, I should add, that was "created" by the monotheistic view that the "Earth is the Lord's" and he can give it to whoever he wants to and they can use it and abuse it as they like.

The influence of religion has done nothing but cause human beings to divorce themselves from reality, to retreat in terror into illusion and delusions about other worlds, and to abandon our Earth.

And yes, this is the view that is presented by our so-called "Other worldly" source of information! I guess that perspective is not "spiritual" enough for Parabola.

The only thing I can say at this point is that I believe the only way out of the mess this planet is in is to first of all, eliminate the clouds of myth and distortion surrounding the true nature of human beings and discover what powers we may truly have if we can be unified beyond our petty internecine squabbles created by the production of religious fantasies and New Age Mumbo Jumbo, as well as the opposite idea that there is no consciousness, that material life is all there is. A simple, strategic, military analysis of the situation suggests that there would not be so much time and effort spent on creating and promoting these fantasies and beliefs, and marginalizing the idea that such ought to be studied scientifically if there was not something that someone does not want to keep totally hidden.

And so, let me address what is truly different about our experimental work in transdimensional communications which acts as a "turn off" to the more pragmatic reader, the thing that results in our work being marginalized.

Ark writes: The name Cassiopaea was given by a consciously "channeled source" which Laura accessed in 1994 after two years of experimental work.  The source identified itself by saying "we are you in the future."

Modern physics does not provide us with practical means for this type of communication, and theories on this subject are not well developed; they are, in fact, inconclusive and controversial. When interpreting "we are you in the future in an oversimplified way, we are faced with causal paradoxes. On the other hand, from the theoretical papers published in physics journals we can learn that, with a proper and careful interpretation, and taking into account quantum uncertainties, communication into the past cannot be dismissed as impossible.

Improbable perhaps is the right word, but there are many things that are improbable and yet happen. The more improbable is a given phenomenon, the more information is carried by its occurrence, the more we can learn by its study. That is why we did not dismiss the "we are you in the future" as impossible and therefore ignorable. Instead we decided to continue the "communications" as a form of a controlled experiment in "superluminal thought transfer" - even if it was clear that the term should be considered as a tentative indication of only one out several possible interpretations.

The information received from this experiment is presented in the context of broad-ranging historical, scientific and other metaphysical material and offers the clues that have led to the world view and inferences presented by us in our numerous publications on this Website and in print. Perhaps it is only our own "subconscious mind" that presents itself as a "source," but even if it is so, does that tell us more? Do we really know what "subconscious mind" is and of what is it capable?

There are many individuals who think, a priori, that all inspirational material is 100 % crap, or has such a low percentage of usefulness that it isn't worth considering. While we do agree that much, if not most, channeled material is either part of a human engineered program or the influences of negative forces (whether human or otherwise, we can't say with any certainty), we believe that we have taken such forces into account in our own experimental work in expanded states of consciousness.

What are the facts? What are the possibilities?

Alright, there is a possibility that some (most?) of the channeling TODAY comes via satellites or other means of programming. That IS possible. Even probable.

The next question is : WHY?

The evident answer is: to twist, to disinform, to hide the TRUTH that MAY possibly be accessible via some form of inspired communication.

Can the Cassiopaean information be similarly corrupted?

It is not so easy. We are not naive. We are critical. We think, we analyze. We test and research.

Could SOME of our "communications" have been influenced this way?

YES. There is such a possibility. Can ALL, or even 95% be received this way?

NO. Because there are too many instances in which the Cassiopaeans were answering questions to which normal "satellite type" of intelligence, without being able to instantly read the minds of everyone on this planet, could not have had access. Therefore, I think, the statement that ALL channeling is crap and disinformation, and that 95% is via satellites shows that an individual making such a claim is

a) not able to think logically,

b) not interested in discovering the truth

And this is the main difference between our approach and the approaches of both true believers in any nonsense that claims to be "inspired," and the complete skeptics who will not take the time and trouble to really examine, with an open mind, different possibilities.

While we are ready to question everything, and ALWAYS look for new facts, other individuals - skeptics and true believers alike - declare "WE KNOW THE TRUTH". Here it is! And then we find one or another easily detectable nonsense statement that is claimed to be absolute, and this discredits everything else they say. The devil, as always, is in the details.

As for parallel realities; yes, probably this is a clue.

As for satellites trying, once in a while, their dirty tricks - yes this is possible; and we ARE taking it into account.

But ALWAYS we are trying to apply our logical thinking, our critical "judgment", our data collection, to everything via a network of researchers. This reality check is NEVER SUFFICIENT when dealing with possible hyperdimensional forces, but it is ALWAYS NECESSARY. Which means, in practical terms:

1) ALWAYS USE IT TO THE MAX.

2) NEVER THINK THAT YOU CAN RELY COMPLETELY ON IT ALONE!

What I want to state clearly: this communication, the Cassiopaean transmission, IS different than other so-called channeling. It was different from the very beginning, and it will continue to be different. We may give it a name: Critical Superluminal Communication. It is such by intent, not by chance. It is a communication in which, by intent, the messenger is as important as the message itself; they are inseparably entangled in a quantum way; an interfering quantum amplitude; they form a oneness, a whole. To separate the message from the messenger would be, in this Cassiopaean quantum experiment, like closing one hole in a double slit experiment; you close one hole, and the whole pattern is different, not just a part of it.

What is this "Critical Superluminal Communication?" In what way is it different than other inspirational communication? It would take a lot of space and time to describe it in detail. One day we will do it. But for now, let me just make this observation: the Cassiopaean communication has characteristics of a scientific experiment. Think of scientists in their lab, working on the fundamental laws of the universe; they perform an important series of experiments; they are trained professionals, they know their stuff, they know their laboratory equipment and its quirks. But they are also human beings. (In this reality, that cannot be disregarded). Once in a while someone will make a joke; once in a while they will have to discard a series of data because mice have messed up their equipment during the night.

Now, think, what advantage would there be if they would write in their paper the joke, include the corrupted mice data, the ink blobs etc. etc. That is not the way of science. And the Cassiopaean communication will proceed as a scientific one, with scientific standards in mind. We will examine, check, test, and discard what is not acceptable and utilize what is acceptable. There is NO "deification" and there will be none!

The Cassiopaean transmission is Critical Superluminal Communication. It is in this respect that it is DIFFERENT from other channeling. And it will stay so. The difference is in the approach. We are searching for the truth and we do not decide, a priori, how Truth may be found.

Those who are sure that ALL inspirational material should be discounted seek to impose a barrier on other people, on the universe itself, or seek to manipulate other people into believing what they say uncritically. We try to share our thoughts, and when necessary, we are ready to learn and CHANGE. And that is what is most important: this attitude of being open.

Still we must ask: What if it is true that ALL inspirational material is crap? Even if I consider it as highly improbable, what if that is true? Can it be true?

Of course, being a scientist, and using my brain in order to judge, I had to consider this possibility, however improbable it may look to me in a general sense. In the end, I concluded that it cannot be right. Here is my reasoning: it goes via "reductio ad absurdum" - which is often used in logic and in mathematical proofs. You assume something to be true, and then by a chain of logical deductions you come to the conclusion that your assumption cannot be true. Somewhat tricky - but useful.

Applying this method to the claim that "all channeling is 100% disinformation because it is coming via satellite, (or negative forces, delusions, etc), let us suppose it is true. In order to be true such a satellite, (or forces or delusions) must be capable of reading and controlling EVERYBODY'S mind at ALL times. But if that is the case, then why would those who declare it to be true be exempt from this control?

Therefore, by their own logic, such individuals are also being influenced by programming and by satellites (if everybody is, then so are they). If so, then what such individuals claim must also be skewed. And, because those who make such claims are often so loud, and so sure about this subject, generally for no valid reason when careful examination is made, it is a logical conclusion that what they are saying is NOT true, that it is disinformation.

So we see that starting from the assumption that it is true that all channeling is crap because it comes from satellites or evil forces or delusional states that affect everybody, we come to the conclusion that what such a person says is wrong because he or she is simply repeating the disinformation that comes from those sources. So, here we have reductio ad absurdum.

But we can go even further. Can we see a reason why the claim that all inspirational material is crap has been so widely propagated among the more intelligent and discriminating individuals who would be best qaulified to engage in intelligent examination of inspirational material? Why?

Well, here we can have a hypothesis too. If, as we know by the above analysis, NOT ALL inspiration is from satellites or delusions or "dark forces", that SOME inspiration can provide us with real information from "benevolent higher beings", from "us in the future", or from "Mind-God and Oversoul", call it as you will, then it is only natural that there will be forces trying to discredit the idea itself, in order to prevent those most capable of critical examination, and potential problem solving, from doing so.

There is one more exercise in logical reasoning and critical thinking that comes to mind. Many individuals who make such claims are not clear about what "channeling" is, so let me take as a particular example using the Ouija board, as described on our pages.

Why do we use a device similar to a Ouija board?

To screen out the external disturbances; in particular to make it more difficult for satellites, or other programming signals coming from human and/or hybrid technology, when and if they come, to affect the message. At least two persons are needed, no rituals or mumbo jumbo, the device is utilized like a laboratory instrument; critical thinking at every moment, sometimes joking, often coffee, fresh minds, loud discussion, feedback, and the board - a "human machine interface" with "other realities." Laura has written about this type of instrument as follows:

In the present day, under the influence of rationalist Western technology, the idea that anyone can just sit down and begin to channel is very similar to the idea that translation can be done by machines with no human interface. This is a very subtle point.

In terms of a computer program that translates from one language to another, and most so-called channels, we see that the program attempts to execute an algorithm, or series of algorithms that consist of gathering intelligence, charting a course of action, giving a series of commands, and carrying them out. The results are only as good as the algorithms.

We see, from the literature, that the "channeling phenomenon" as it is widely practiced, omits reason from the algorithm.

There is no feedback mechanism of research, investigation, checking details, and thus no possibility of accurate tuning.

Excluding Reason and the possibility of competing forces results in the algorithm: "I am the Lord your God and there is no other because I said so! And if you don't believe me, then it will be all the worse for you!" Not very productive, to say the least.

But, channeling cannot be done by a machine, either, just as translations cannot be done exclusively by a machine. The fact is, machine translation researchers despair of ever programming a machine to produce a translation of professionally usable quality without human assistance.

In the same way, it is impossible to produce channeled material of any usable quality without full consideration for the competing forces as well as the application of the algorithm of Reason in dealing with them. Without application of knowledge and direct, rapid feedback, there is little possibility that anything other than useless psychobabble will emerge. And such seems to be the case. (We are, of course, excluding the narcissistic delusionals, the deliberate frauds, and the pathological cases of multiple personality).

In the end, those machine translation systems that do work are, effectively, cyborg translation systems: they all require a human-machine interface.

In science fiction movies, we often see a "machine translator" that enables the space traveler to just plug himself into a gadget via some brain electrode, and open his mouth and automatically speak in the language of the planet he is visiting. The words may start out in his brain in his own language, but by the time the come out of his mouth, the machine has altered the nerve impulses to the organs of speech causing them to produce correct words in the unknown tongue. Apparently, the machine also works in reverse, and the space traveler may hear words spoken in the unknown language, but he "experiences" them in his own.

What is interesting to me is the fact that it is a prosthetic device that turns the space traveler into a sort of cyborg translator who becomes able to "channel" foreign speech.

The point I am trying to make in this analogy, is that by the use of prosthetics, we are in a position to employ an algorithm that includes reason and feedback! Reason, when properly employed, can shape, direct, regulate, and control translation of information between realities. Reason, which includes research, is itself, part of the algorithm.

An individual who, via long and intensive study, comes to the idea that there is a possibility of communicating with higher consciousnesses, or between realities, and formulates a hypothesis of how to do it, and then experiments with that hypothesis, adjusting and modifying throughout the process, is, in a sense, being guided by a source of some greater complexity and deep need to communicate complex and new concepts. In this way does the Cosmos at Large, via Reason and Knowledge and a questing spirit planted in a human form "hail" a potential translator of truly higher realities. The words "translate," "transfer" and "transduce" all have the same Latin root. And it is in the role of translator, that we discover that just "plugging in and turning on the machine" is not enough.

Translators must be trained; they must not only know the other language, they must know how to regulate the degree of fidelity with the source text, how to tell what degree and type of fidelity is appropriate in specific use contexts, how to receive and deliver translations, how to find help with terminology, and so on. All of this suggests a long period of training and preparation. A Translator is someone who has studied these things, who knows these things, and who, most importantly, governs their translating behavior in terms of this knowledge. This knowledge is ideological. It is controlled by Cosmic ideological norms. If you want to become a translator, you must submit to the translator's role of learning the language in an expert way; you must submit to being directed by what the Cosmic ideological norms inform you is the true spirit of the source author, and to translate that spirit unchanged into the target language.

Thus it is, with all of these considerations in mind, I finally settled on the board type instrument as being the best mode of dealing with the issues. It is a prosthetic device that allows constant feedback between the algorithm of "machine translation" of the subconscious/ unconscious, and the human interface of the conscious mind which must constantly employ reason for "tuning". This is possible only with a board due to the fact that the translator is using both the conscious bypass for reception, while at the same time is able to maintain constant conscious integrity. By being, at all times, in full possession of their own mind and having the ability to observe, control and direct acceptance or rejection of any material or sensation at any time, reason is brought in as part of the algorithm. In other words, used correctly, by an individual who is knowledgeable in the subjects under discussion, as well as the clinically demonstrated realities of "other realms," this is one of the finest tools available for such experimentation. This type of device allows one to create a "separate line," so to speak, a "switchboard" where a new circuit is established through a minute thread of consciousness without giving up control in any way. It takes time, and each bit of information must be subjected to scrutiny, to testing, to validation.

Just as all spiritist type communications have been declared to be "crap and nonsense" by the mainstream community (never mind that most of them go to church and, allegedly, adhere to what are, effectively, "channeled" messages that are truly outrageious), so has the "alternative" community adopted a similar position vis a vis the use of prosthetics. (Again, keep in mind that this is evidence of a real lack of knowledge on the subject.) It seems that, due to the influence of the movie "The Exorcist," the ouija board has acquired a negative reputation. Yet, this was not always the case! Funny how an entire "doctrine" can be created by Hollywood and then people accept is as gospel. It strikes us forcibly that such a prejudice is very likely disinformation designed to encourage "satellite channeling" while discouraging Critical Superluminal Communication.

Ark again: Thinking in terms of possible quantum physics involved in mind-matter interactions it is clear to me that the methods we use are more likely to be robust and shielded against deliberate bombarding from outside by mind controlling signals. On the other hand, talking directly to "Mind-God" as "true believers" do is more susceptible to interference. For example, a weak outside EM signal can be talking directly to a tiny implant in our teeth, and we will take it for on Oversoul....

So, by logical thinking and by critical analysis we came to a working hypothesis. But, please, do not jump to the conclusion that we solved all problems. Important problems are still out there and need to be addressed. The above analysis does not tell us at all WHICH inspirational material (if any at all) is legitimate. It gives indications. To answer this question a full analysis, that takes into account not one but many aspects, is necessary. Completely different methods must be used. If A is an opponent of B, and if we find that A is wrong, that does not mean that B is right! To see whether B is right or not - is a different problem. In closing, let me just note that we have discussed the C's information on our internet site, and with many individuals and groups, and even our present "dissidents" have admitted openly that these C's have an amazing record. As we note on the introductory page of the Cassiopaea website:

We sometimes ask ourselves if the Cassiopaeans are who they say they are, because we do not take anything as unquestionable truth. We take everything with a grain of salt, even if we consider that there is a good chance that it is truth. We are constantly analyzing this material as well as a great quantity of other material that comes to our attention from numerous fields of science and mysticism.  We find it to be quite extraordinary that the Cassiopaean Material is so closely aligned with the teachings of the great Sufi master,  Ibn Al-'Arabi, with the Fourth Way Teachings of Gurdjieff, with the Esoteric Christianity of Boris Mouravieff, and even ancient Altaic Shamanism.  In this sense, the Cassiopaean Experiment is truly a Fourth Way work.

Laura here: Coming back to our present situation vis a vis my suspicion that we are considered dangerous because of our scientific approach to mysticism, most particularly our promotion of the idea of hyperdimensional realities as having a "physical meaning," let me note that this awareness only dawned on me gradually. Because of the fact that there were so many people in the world promoting their versions of the "paranormal," so to say - including the mainstream religions - I had the idea that talking or writing about such things was acceptable, even if it was relegated to a more or less "fringe" circle. That was okay by me. After all, I was intending to address only those people who were actually interested in the subject. But that is not how things played out, and it took me some time to "make the connections." So, in order to understand what I am trying to convey, let me recount a brief history of the problem and how we gradually began to suspect that we were moving in directions that are absolutely forbidden.

During Ark's 6 year stay in the United States, he was unable to find suitable academic work that would support his own research interests due to several factors including his "foreign" status, but also due to his refusal to work for the arms industry. It was observed that there are very few jobs and research grants for physicists who do not wish to use their expertise in the service of the military in one way or another, or who do not want to follow ideas that will lead nowhere. Indeed, at a very early point, Ark was recruited to work for a contractor to the United States Department of Defense, but after three years in this position, it became obvious that he would have to either "get in deeper" or get out. He decided to get out, and I supported that decision.

Regarding myself, I had formerly worked as a bureaucrat for the State of Florida, and as a part-time hypnotherapist under the aegis of various psychiatrists and psychologists, (which actually led to my later questions about, and experiments with "mind phenomena" leading to the Cass Experiment). In 1995, I began to share some of the results of the Cassiopaean transmissions with a discussion group on the internet. It was not, to understate the matter, well received except by a few individuals who seemed to be more "in the know" than the average "new age" type of seeker of "alternative solutions to the problems of man and his place in the universe." The fact is, the Cassiopaean material was distinctly Gnostic in flavor and tone. What the C's referred to as hyperdimensional realities were quite comparable to the realm of Archons of the Gnostics, and they certainly described the denizens of this realm in similar - though more modern - terms.

As I continued to research, the comparisons between this material and the "underground streams of knowledge" such as Sufism, Esoteric Christianity, Gnosticism, Hermeticism, became more and more obvious, and so I became convinced that I ought to share the material and the results of my research so as to get feedback from others; to - so to say - make my algorithms more robust.

In 1998, Ark began to help me to create a website for this purpose. This website published my many years of historical research, as well as publishing the results of my experiences and researches into the paranormal and psychology. This latter element was based on over 25 years experience as a hypnotherapist. A special note is important here. I considered the issue of so-called "extraterrestrials" to be a valid subject for study and review, since it was so widespread a phenomenon in American culture. As a hypnotherapist, I had worked with individuals claiming to have been "abducted" by aliens, and my experiences and observations of such subjects convinced me that they were intriguing and worthy of academic research.

As noted, Ark assisted me in the technical aspects of creating my website, and occassionally added some analysis and commentary.  We were not prepared for, nor even expecting, the level of reaction that resulted from this "marriage of science and mysticism."  These reactions brought me to confront a strange condition of our world - the vast chasm between the methods and conclusions of science and religion.  I had considered it a normal, reasonable approach to study religion and mysticism - the domains of the so-called "paranormal" - more or less scientifically, but apparently this perspective was to be condemned by both religious communities as well as many in the scientific community.

"This brings us back to the problem we face in our world: that "the science of living beings" has not proceeded apace with the sciences dealing with the physical objects in our reality.

Ark has also commented on these issues as follows:

Looking at the history of "our civilization", religion seems to have been in existence much longer than "science."  And yet we see that religion has failed.  In spite of its teachings people are still constantly at war with each other. Human beings have not become better, and they are often much worse than animals.  It is terrible because, when you really SEE it, you realize how great a failure religion or the "powers" of the various versions of God really are.

Science, which came later and has exploded in the last millennium, has failed too. It has brought mankind to the edge of self-destruction.  Advances in mathematical, physical and computer sciences have brought about "applied game theory", where wars are called "games", and to "win the game" is to kill as many people as possible with as little cost as possible. [.]

Perhaps it is time to try something new? Perhaps a "marriage of science and mysticism" has a chance?

Why not take what is good from science and what is good from  religion, and discard what is wrong?

What is the best thing about religion?

Religion teaches us to be open minded and accepting of possibilities which are far from being "rational".  Religions teache us to pay attention to singular events, miracles, phenomena that are fragile and hardly repeatable.  Finally religion teaches us to look inside as much as outside: know thyself.

The strengths of the approach of religion just happen to be the weak points in science.

Science is often narrow-minded and conservative restricting everything to what is material and rigidly repeatable. Science teaches us that what is "out there" is not connected to what is "in here," that it must be captured, weighed, measured and manipulated.  That is why new paradigms are so painful when they come - but they DO come in science, and they seldom come in religion which is "fixed" and dogmatic and not open to discussion.

What is the best thing about science? Science is open to criticism and discussion.  Even if many forces on the earth try to make a sort of religion of science, in general, scientific theories must be published and publicly discussed. We can find an error in Einstein's papers because these, as well as other papers, are publicly available.  Everyone can learn mathematics, as advanced as you wish, from reading monographs, articles, going to conferences, and discussing with other scientists.

The strength of science just happens to be the weakness of religion.

Religions are always "secret" in one respect or another - even if that secrecy is only the declaration that no changes can be made, no questions asked, because the ultimate truth about God is a "mystery," a "secret."  That is why the teachings of religion are so easily distorted and misunderstood.  It is so easy for the central "authority" to achieve the "pinnacle" of the religion and declare to the followers the correct interpretation and that no other is permitted.

So it can be stated that one of my main operational protocols is to study religion and mysticism - the domains of the so-called "paranormal" - more or less scientifically, while Ark is inclined, on occasion, to combine "inspiration" with his scientific researches.  In both cases, we wish to note, our mutual approach is to create working hypotheses that are subjected to tests and observation.

As noted, this approach brought forth a significant amount of protest both from "true believers" in various religions and the so-called "New Age" community worldwide, as well as some academics who automatically consider the approach to be "un-scientific." But this was more than just people writing and saying "You are damned for your unbelief." These attacks were, quite simply, life-threatening both in terms of attempting to destroy our ability to work, make a living and support our family, and physical harm.

The initial attacks against us proceeded from two main sources: the so-called "New Age" or "Metaphysical" community, and Christian fundamentalists in the United States.  We could understand the fundies, but we could not understand the attacks from the "New Age" types. After all, many of them were talking about the same subjects I was talking about. It took me awhile to understand that the problem was that they were also promoting untested beliefs in the same way the mainstream religions were and they objected to someone saying that such beliefs ought to be critically analyzed and tested. The New Age and mainstream Fundies were soon joined by members of the Jewish and Islamic religions who objected to having religious texts and ideas subjected to a more or less scientific scrutiny. It wasn't that this hadn't been done before, but most of the academic research in theological areas is not very accessible to the public. I was reading it, condensing it, and making it accessible. Apparently, this was a big no-no. It was clear that "true believers" of all types were happy to be left alone by science because this enabled them to perpetrate frauds on the public, particularly those who were disaffected vis a vis the "standard" religions, but certainly not excluding the fundamental frauds of even the "standard" religions per se.  I have written an expose of the work on which the three main Monotheistic religions are based - the religions that are responsible for the current state of the world which everyone will admit is dire - entitled "Who Wrote the Bible".

It was quite disconcerting to both of us to find that, in our efforts to apply science to the study of metaphysics for the purposes of finding a meeting ground for all peoples to find peace, the most vicious of the defamatory attacks against us were that we were trying to start a "cult"!  It seemed that the real cults that we were exposing as such decided that the best defense was an offense.

We responded to these accusations by encouraging readers to actually READ our work in order to determine that this accusation was not, in fact true.  However, it seems that once the word "cult" is shouted, there is a psychological reaction that is similar to shouting the word "fire" in a crowded public place.  All thinking and reason stops and the human brain becomes paralyzed.

Right up to the period around September 11, 2001, the situation was no more or less problematical than would be for any individual with a "new idea" that is not yet quite acceptable. There are critics and there are responses to criticism. However, in conjunction with 9-11, the climate for scientifically examining religion and belief systems radically changed in the United States.

Seeing how religion and beliefs were driving the masses to acts of true insanity, along with many others, I began writing articles protesting the politics of the current US President, Mr. Bush, and his manipulative use of the Christian Fundamentalists as his support base, and religion as his raison d'etre.  I had become particularly vocal in my opposition to the, then, oncoming invasion and occupation of Iraq.

Because of these activities, we began to be subjected to intensified attacks that now included fanatics of the so-called "Christian Right," and the label of "cult" was shouted louder and more often.  As I noted, this became rather serious. We received death threats, our children were physically threatened, and in two cases, subjected to life-threatening attacks, our dog was poisoned, our names (including our children) and physical location was published on the internet with a request for "true believers" to go and "take care of" us (the implied intent was obviously to do physical harm, perhaps even causing death).

The attacks included a campaign of slander and defamation launched against us via the Internet, consisting of the most outrageous lies about our work and personal lives.  We found that we were unable to do anything at all except to spend almost every waking hour defending ourselves, and staying awake at night in fear that fanatical fundamentalists would burn our house down as we slept.

We certainly made reports of this activity against us to the authorities in the U.S., including the FBI.  The responses of these authorities consisted mainly in saying "its not our jurisdiction" or "anybody can say what they want", to "there are more important things to investigate" since September 11, 2001.

We undertook our own investigation into the ringleaders of the attackers, paying a firm of investigators to produce complete background reports.  With the elements of these reports, and using the internet as an investigative tool, we were able to track and map the connections of this group to what appears to be a CIA front that has funded several "real" cults, including gurus who claim to be alien "walk-ins" and other "Mystery Schools" dealing mainly with "Enochian Magic" and other nonsense that passes for hermeticism nowadays.  In more recent times, "abductees" have joined the fray, claiming to be "recovered cult members" who "recognize" that we are, indeed, trying to start a cult!

After reading some of the "other" material available on the internet, it might be thought that the simplest reason behind the attacks on us was due to these individuals feeling threatened by exposure of their truly cultic money making scams. Nevertheless, there is still the problem of the U. S. authorities complete failure to act on our numerous complaints of criminal wrong-doing on the part of these individuals in their campaign of slander, libel, and defamation against us.  We still cannot explain this. We further cannot explain why our work, in particular, has been targeted in the way it has when there are so many truly "cultic" groups operating in the U.S., who are allowed to operate unimpeded, and to perpetrate their obvious scams and frauds with complete impunity.  The suggestion has been made that such groups are part of a vast secret "Counter-intelligence Program," but even if that is the case, it does not explain why our work was particularly targeted for attack unless, of course, it is because it is "going in the right direction." At the same time, we can't exclude the idea that these reactions are strictly mechanical in psychological terms. If a person perceives that something they believe in is threatened by facts, they might easily react to the threat in such ways.

Nevertheless, reading the clues does seem to suggest more than just a "mechanical reaction," something that is akin to COINTELPRO. The theme of COINTELPRO has long been with us! As Richard Dolan has written:

Anyone who has lived in a repressive society knows that official manipulation of the truth occurs daily. But societies have their many and their few. In all times and all places, it is the few who rule, and the few who exert dominant influence over what we may call official culture. - All elites take care to manipulate public information to maintain existing structures of power. It's an old game. [...]

[And war is the key element of power and control.]

Deception is the key element of warfare, and when winning is all that matters, the conventional morality held by ordinary people becomes an impediment. When taken together, the examples of official duplicity form a nearly single totality. [...]

The secrecy stems from a pervasive and fundamental element of life in our world, that those who are at the top of the heap will always take whatever steps are necessary to maintain the status quo. [...]

[C]over-ups are standard operating procedure, frequently unknown to the public for decades, becoming public knowledge by a mere roll of the dice. But also [...] information has leaked out from the very beginning. It is impossible to shut the lid completely. The key lies in neutralizing and discrediting unwelcomed information, sometimes through official denial, other times through proxies in the media. [...]

[E]vidence [of conspiracy] derived from a grass roots level is unlikely to survive its inevitable conflict with official culture. And acknowledgement about the reality of [conspiracies] will only occur when the official culture deems it worthwhile or necessary to make it. [Dolan, UFOs and the National Security State]

Don't hold your breath.

Now, let me repeat the crucial point here: Ideas about conspiracy are not delusions or paranoia. From a historical point of view, the ONLY reality is that of conspiracy. Our "freedom" is to large extent an illusion. Secrecy, wealth and independence add up to power. ...Deception is the key element of warfare, (the tool of power elites), and when winning is all that matters, the conventional morality held by ordinary people becomes an impediment. In other words, creating religions to deceive people is standard procedure from the most primitive "witch doctor" who scares the tribe so that he can stay in power, right on up to the controls exerted by George Bush in the name of Christianity, and undoubtedly beyond, in the realms of hyperdimensions.

[Note: We speak of organized religions here, not about the very idea of God-Creator and the Mysteries of the Soul and Mind. If anything, we think that the evidence shows Creation to be far more grand and glorious than the organized religions even admit, and that the Cosmos is not reducible to the simplistic "god theories" of human beings.]

Secrecy about the true nature of our reality, and the true foolishness of these religions, stems from a pervasive and fundamental element of life in our world, that those who are at the top of the heap will always take whatever steps are necessary to maintain the status quo.

And maintaining the "status quo" via religion is one of the main objectives of the Power Elite.

And how do they do that?

By "official culture."

And official religious culture, understood this way, from the perspective of elite groups wishing to maintain the status quo of their power, means only one thing: COINTELPRO.

Here we do not mean the specific FBI program, but the concept of the program, and the likelihood that this has been the mode of controlling human beings for possibly millennia.

Remember: those who are at the top of the heap will always take whatever steps are necessary to maintain the status quo.

And maintaining the "status quo" via the clever manipulation of people via religion is one of the main objectives of the Power Elite.

And so it was that we gradually became aware of the fact that our approach of evaluating our reality in what amount to Scientific Gnostic terms, which suggests that this world we experience, our normally sensed space-time, is "embedded" in a fifith dimension (and here I use the term as mathematicians use it, NOT as it is used by the so-called "New Age") that is REAL, and our reality may very well be the "battlefield" of denizens of hyperdimensional space-time, is considered to be as dangerous as the ideas of the Gnostics and the Cathars who held similar ideas. That is to say human beings appear to be the "playing pieces" in vast and complex Secret Games of the Gods, and our actions or lack of action may represent the moves and maneuvers of said denizens of hyperdimensional space who, it seems, most desperately do NOT want us to unite in our awareness of their existence, and who exert great effort to confuse and obfuscate humanity to that end. Because certainly, if we really discover the proof of their existence, and their games, we will stop playing.

This is the Most Dangerous Idea on Earth.
