The mold on the dining room wall is becoming unsightly and unhealthy. Something must be done.

The original problem was caused by the previous tenant who's kids broke the tiles in the bathroom overhead and water filled the space and ran down and soaked the wall below. The wallpaper prevented drying, and even after the water problem has been repaired, the mold continues to grow.

Henry begins by stripping off wallpaper.

As the wallpaper is removed, the extent of the mold growth is revealed.

The repairs take many hours of careful application and smoothing.

Now that the repairs have been made, we let it dry and wait... several days of living with this mess.

After the cement dries, the cement sealer was applied.

After another day of enduring the mess while the sealer dries, the wallpapering project begins. Henry and Joe are becoming masters of the Wallpaper Art.

After measuring and lining the paper up with the plumb line, the process speeds up.

Getting close to the end, Joe and Henry apply paste and block the sheets.

Finished. And after looking at it, we decided that the white paint around the fireplace had to go... a nice glossy black is just the ticket.

Since we didn't want to have to paper the whole room, we decided to carry the color scheme around the wall by putting wallpaper on the valence boxes.
